Depending on where in the UK your camp site is located there may still be COVID restrictions in place. My sister recently camped at a site where only one household (hers) was booked on the whole site because the bathroom block cannot be shared due to COVID.

As a result of today’s shocking weather and Sodding’s insistence on visiting me with each triumphant return from our waterlogged garden I now have a page of muddy cat footprints and bleary ink in the middle of my work notebook.

I ran out of white bread flour part way through weighing out our pizza dough ingredients earlier, so it is 1/3 wholemeal. I am expecting complaints.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 21/05/2021 18:16

@Champagneforeveryone

I have just been quoted £142 for two nights camping in my own tent Hmm
Woah! You'd get an ocean view campsite with water, electricity and wifi in one of the nicest campgrounds in Maine for that money!
HildaTablet · 21/05/2021 18:45

I’ve spent the day sheltering from the torrential rain and wind, with the excuse of feeling very slightly under the weather following my Covid jab yesterday.

I did however manage to get myself off the sofa for long enough to make a coffee and walnut traybake and cut two slightly-warm pieces of it so DH and I could have it with our coffee. It isn’t even iced yet Blush

Wholegrain pizza would not be rejoyced over at our house either.

I've just watched a third van from the HVAC company arrive and deliver one item in a large box that I assume is the new compressor. I guess we are still waiting on the other part, the new coil.

Well... this is going to be fun...

I was given some water tablets to get rid of the fluid on my lung. I am at work and have been wee at least 5 times so far. I hope my bladder gives me some peace during the night though!!

Frownette · 21/05/2021 18:58

How long is the course, Deathraystare?

Frownette · 21/05/2021 19:00

Actually I can commiserate, I've had too much water today and need to go yet again but I'm comfy in my chair Angry

Silkiecats · 21/05/2021 19:04

DS now has a haircut and admired himself in both the car mirrors and the bathroom mirrors.

3rd mouse caught today, we must surely be running out of mice that's 4 in 24 hours.

Quite often diuretics are taken no later than lunchtime,so that you don't wee all night. Very windy here; I opened the back door this morning, but the noise was making one of my dogs very worried, so I had to close it again.
Silkiecats · 21/05/2021 19:54

Calm weather here now and birds are singing.

Getting a Chinese takeaway, having sweet and sour king prawns and rice.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 21/05/2021 20:03

Caught up with your news.
The only thing our cat brought in apart from life bats were pieces of garbage he wrestled from the crows.
I'll be working the whole of pentecost bc of deadlines.

Notthissticky · 21/05/2021 20:19

@MissConductUS

Welcome, of course. Smile
Thank you. I think I was on one of the first of these threads but I might have name changed since then.

I'm not sure what the pack contains, but suddenly I can see why the lessons are only £7...

DS1 complimented DH on going to the toilet by saying "good boy daddy, good boy!" which cracked me up and is poetic justice for saying "mummy got big pants" (the underwear variety) yesterday. He also let me do bedtime, which was a real honour as I'm definitely not the favourite parent and he briefly considered the cat for the job . Meanwhile DS2's latch is even worse than usual so my poor nips hurt!!!

Frownette · 21/05/2021 20:31

Silkie it's the cat who likes chinese I think..? Not as much as you, obviously :)

I made a nice meal earlier so just need to do some broccoli to go with it, not hungry yet though.

Prok coffee, lots of it.

I was somehow shanghaied convinced to take over these threads starting back at number 5 last October. It's all become a bit of a blur I'm afraid. Smile

Toilet training always has it's amusing moments. I'll never forget the look on DS's face when he finally understood that I wanted him to use the toilet instead of just going in his nappy. He was scandalized, outraged even that I would ever suggest such a daft idea. Grin It did eventually work.

Its the 🐇 he isn't supposed to eat it but if DS leaves his plate and goes to bathroom 🐇 is happy.

Another 🐁 caught. Though I just hope dhs plan of leaving them in green bin works, not convinced as they can climb and get through tiny gaps though hopefully food in the bin will keep them there. Its about 10 days to collection though.

DenisetheMenace · 21/05/2021 20:48

Just discovered floor wipes: brilliant, no more mopping for me.
How exciting is my life Grin

Surely you mean diaper?Wink We've more or less cracked potty training. Had a bit of a problem a couple of weeks ago when we were waiting at the GP for our appointment and I had forgotten to take the potty with me. I tried to convince him to go on the big toilet but was told "No. That daddy's toilet." I know better than to argue with a 2yoGrin
Frownette · 21/05/2021 21:08

Silkie ahh I was going to put wabbit but then thought I must be going demented and he couldn't possibly be into chinese.

I'm too tired to eat at present, may have a catnap first

Squirrel26 · 21/05/2021 22:07

It is weird when someone on the BBC talks about the BBC as if it's nothing to do with them. A bit like if I started talking about myself in the third person. (BBC news is talking about the BBC Diana Panorama interview as if that's an entirely DIFFERENT BBC.)

soddingkitten · 21/05/2021 22:35

Mixed reviews on the partially wholemeal pizza dough. DS1 liked the rough texture, saying reminded him of Dominos (which is rolled out on/dusted with maize meal/polenta). DS2 dissed it: too soggy. 🤷‍♂️

DoctorTwo · 21/05/2021 22:44

Maanaged to book my jabs, first one is Tuesday, 2nd is 25th July. Not only that, I've arranged my prescription for collection tomorrow morning.

In even more dull news, there's been a snippet of lyrics, just a couple of linesreally, running around my head the past few days, the lines being 'Menelik grew to a king, then generations passed unlinked'. I knew Menelik was something to do with the Queen of Sheba, but beyond that I was stumped. Google tells me the song is Sheba by Bad Brains, which made me listen to the whole of Quickness. Took me right back. Nostalgia. Innit wonderful.

Agreed! Sarah Montague on The World at One sounded like she wasn't too impressed with this company called the BBCHmm
MerryGoRoundBrain · 22/05/2021 00:31

Boring news of today: I can’t sleep.
Both DS and I have a stinking cold (got tested, both negative) and I just can’t get comfortable or switch my brain off.

Also, I bought some more Manuka honey today, which made me feel very health-conscious and clever Grin

Champagneforeveryone · 22/05/2021 04:22

Early morning boredom alert, I'm at work and it's very dull. Unfortunately interspersed with frantic moments designed to wake the torpid brain before it goes dead again.

2 1/2 hours to go and then a twelve hour turnaround before another 12 hour shift

Frownette · 22/05/2021 06:55

Noooo I was eating chocolate in bed (disclaimer: dark chocolate with hazelnuts, positively healthy) then I just fell asleep without eating my supper, slept right through the night which is unusual for me
