Glitter Bomb?

262 replies

AlexaNow · 06/05/2021 20:42

Someone sent DP a glitter / tiny penis confetti to work. He opened it at work and was covered in tiny penis confetti and glitter. It was all over him, his desk and floor. He opened it in his office and was embarrassed but is now fuming. He's contacted the company that sent it - to try and find out who sent it to him. Their email bounces back and they don't pick up the phone.

I'm wondering if this counts as criminal damage or harassment and he should report it to the police.

Oh my God, as soon as I read this post I imagined myself sending one to my ex boss so she has to sit there surrounded by the penises and glitter until home time. I can only imagine her face. This is hilarious

Comefromaway · 07/05/2021 13:24

It could be harrasment if its part of a series of things against him but I doubt there is anything you can do.

I once worked somewhere glitter was banned (theatre costumes were involved and it can ruin them) as it gets everywhere!

CandyLeBonBon · 07/05/2021 13:29

To answer your question op, no, it's not harassment!

Ughmaybenot · 07/05/2021 13:32

Clearly I’m a terrible person because this whole farce of a thread has made me genuinely happy today Grin

Mysterian · 07/05/2021 13:35

Can't believe there are so many people here that think it's funny.

Doing things to those who like a joke and who will appreciate it, fine.

Doing things to people who you don't like in an attempt to cause them distress, bad. The company is surely on pretty thin legal ground if helps people harass people.

Chitaufree · 07/05/2021 13:36

@Mysterian ah you must be OP’s DH

AlexaNow · 07/05/2021 13:38

Interesting that some other posters think this is harassment too.

Oh where do I buy one? Grin

MobyDicksTinyCanoe · 07/05/2021 13:40

Is this a windup?

If your husband has form for acting like he has a cactus up his arse I'm not surprised he's getting a few piss taking missiles aimed at him and his miserable self 😂😂😂

Mysterian · 07/05/2021 13:41

If you play a trick on somebody and you both laugh, fine.

If you do it and you laugh at them being upset, you're a bad person.

AlwaysLatte · 07/05/2021 13:43

He's decided against going to the police
Spoilsport.

Doghead · 07/05/2021 13:43

@AlexaNow

Glitter is impossible to clean up. So in theory it has caused damage.
Oh my 😂

Seriously, get a life

Chitaufree · 07/05/2021 13:44

@Mysterian the point is it’s daft for an actual grown man to be crying over a glitter bomb and genuinely considering going to the police

Dugee · 07/05/2021 13:47

What if the recipient of the dick / glitter bomb had done something bad first?

I personally think cheating on someone is worse than sending a dick / glitter bomb.

warmandtoasty2day · 07/05/2021 13:50

this is hard to believe but i can't help but smile at the indignation of it all.
He should have brazened it out and laughed it off. being po faced just gives more cannon fodder to his work colleagues.
having said that i guess it was embarrassing being on the receiving end, if jokes make you feel uncomfortable.

ILoveMondayMornings · 07/05/2021 13:55

Picture or it didn't happen.

AlexaNow · 07/05/2021 14:03

@ILoveMondayMornings

Picture or it didn't happen.
It was in his office and he didn't take a picture.

harassment
/ˈharəsm(ə)nt,həˈrasm(ə)nt/
noun
aggressive pressure or intimidation.

No @AlexaNow, it is not harassment. It's probably from his OW and that's why he's so freaked out.

AlexaNow · 07/05/2021 14:16

If it was from his other woman why would he have told me?

Although I'd have questioned why he was shedding glitter when he got home.

@AlexaNow

It isn't an ad. DP is furious and we want to know what we can do.
The trouble is... the sort of person who would not know the people he works with well enough to know immediately who sent it, and the sort of person who is so humourless that he would be furious instead of laughing it off, and the sort of person who would overreact to a minor problem enough to consider reporting it to the police... that sort of person IS the sort of person who can be a dick at times.

The best thing he could do is stop upsetting the people he works with.

And the more fuss/reaction he makes, the more likely it is to happen again.

I can’t stop thinking about frozen sausages stuck in a lawn and local dogs having a whale of a time.
😂

And the cats and foxes.
HairyToity · 07/05/2021 14:47

Please don't waste police time.

PaperMonster · 07/05/2021 14:47

Fabulous. Rather than be mad he needs to reflect on his behaviour. He must have done something seriously knobbish to warrant receiving one of these!

Dugee · 07/05/2021 14:57

@HairyToity

Please don't waste police time.
Maybe the police might quite like a laugh too?
