Glitter Bomb?

AlexaNow · 06/05/2021 20:42

Someone sent DP a glitter / tiny penis confetti to work. He opened it at work and was covered in tiny penis confetti and glitter. It was all over him, his desk and floor. He opened it in his office and was embarrassed but is now fuming. He's contacted the company that sent it - to try and find out who sent it to him. Their email bounces back and they don't pick up the phone.

I'm wondering if this counts as criminal damage or harassment and he should report it to the police.

Thanks for bringing back memories OP. This is exactly the reaction I hope my ex had when I sent him one a few years ago.

I'd also like to imagine that he spent the day surrounded by tiny dicks and glitter 🤣🤣🤣.

TaVeryMuchLove · 07/05/2021 10:07

I really doubt this is genuine. Hope it is, but doubt it. Even so, it’s made my day! Thank you OP.

gamerchick · 07/05/2021 10:10

I'd be wanting to know why someone thinks he's that much of a penis to go to the trouble.

AnneKipanki · 07/05/2021 10:13

It's not very big but it gives a lot of pleasure.

Dugee · 07/05/2021 10:13

OP, if you pm me your address, I'll send both you and your DH one of these each.

Passing this onto DH for the ongoing prank war at his office. There's only so many times you can cling film a computer, move someone's office to a different floor, leave daft messages and have hand sanitizer fights...

(Note... Their work is very serious. Stupid stuff like this keeps them sane)

RightOnTheEdge · 07/05/2021 10:28

On the newspaper stealing thread there was a suggestion that the OP put glitter inside a newspaper and leave it as a trap. A ton of posters came on all saying it was illegal and dangerous, the the if could get blinded or die from an allergy and the OP could end up being arrested! 🤣
I thought they'd all be here supporting this OP.

I would really love to send a glitter bomb or How not to be a cunt book to my neighbour but I don't think I dare. She would definitely know it was me. I might do it if I ever move house.

ouchyouchyow · 07/05/2021 10:37

Fucking genius company

ouchyouchyow · 07/05/2021 10:41

@AlexaNow

It isn't an ad. DP is furious and we want to know what we can do.
He sounds like a knob. I wonder how many people he has annoyed with his odd attitude ?
PurpleMustang · 07/05/2021 10:42

Well either he has been caught cheating and is his new ex or its his old ex or someone he works with thinks he needs a bit of fun.
Who is going to be the first to change their user name to penisesandglitter

Cas112 · 07/05/2021 10:45

Hhahaah lighten up! The reason it was probs sent is because they knew this is the reaction they would get! Your playing right into there hands. Dont be so serious about it and get over it haha! Could be worse things done

AliceMcK · 07/05/2021 10:46

@AlexaNow

I wondered if it was a colleague. That's maybe why it was sent to him at work, instead of home.

They didn't have the key to the cleaners cupboard so he couldn't really clean it up (no hoover) properly. He had to sit there surrounded by the penises and glitter until hometime. His colleagues kept coming over and making jokes at him. He's still cross.

He sounds like he needs a sense of humour
PurpleWh1teGreen · 07/05/2021 10:54

I’ve changed my mind. OP is too deadpan so I think it’s a reverse.

I’m going with OP is the ex and she sent it. She is currently cackling with laughter but can’t tell anyone in real life, hence the thread.

Surroundedbypenisesandglitter · 07/05/2021 11:26

OP you’ve made my stressful morning an amazing one, thank you so much
I hope DH isn’t too traumatised and that the police came to the office with their sirens on Flowers

AlexaNow · 07/05/2021 12:17

He's decided against going to the police but he is pretty sheepish today and working from home. He's hoping that his colleagues will have moved on to joking about something else by next week.

In my eyes this is the worst he could have done because now they will all be talking about it more that he hasn't gone in. He should just have went in and styled it out instead of making it a bigger deal.

No, they'll be discovering leftover penises for at least a week. Having seen how well your other half has taken the prank, if I worked with him I'd be saving them all up and mailing him one a day for the foreseeable Grin

Neither of you sound like much fun Sad

20viona · 07/05/2021 12:31

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Chatanooga1 · 07/05/2021 12:38

The prank is all the more funnier when the recipient is po faced about it!

I hope whoever sent it is by a quirk of fate is also on Mumsnet and is reading this post and their initial glee at imagining him opening it has turned into immense satisfaction at the op’s description of his indignation and ongoing sour mood!

Oh come on!!! he is working from home because he is embarrassed??

He needs to front it out and laugh it off.
You both need a of a sense of humor.

You really should encourage him to take this to the police.

Then please report back in great detail on how the police reacted.

OnlyheretovoteonAIBU · 07/05/2021 13:07

If only all troll threads were this funny 😆

AlexaNow · 07/05/2021 13:11

I don't know why you think I'm a troll. There are plenty of places that sell these bombs.

OP posts:
Mysterian · 07/05/2021 13:12

Certainly could be harassment. If it was done with the purpose of upsetting somebody.
