Just watching Bones for the first time and absolutely gutted about Sweets which made me wonder which other tv deaths have upset MNers.

Lots of potential for spoilers here so apologies in advance.

DCI Cassie Stuart in Unforgotten. Don't think I'll watch it anymore it just won't be the same without her lead character.

ChimpyChops · 25/04/2021 00:36

I thought of more.

Cass and Emma Keane in The Bill.
Fingers in Our Girl, I cried and cried.

Apologies, haven't read thru all 955 posts & it's not coming up on a search.
I still think about Jambo's overdose in hollyoaks, approx 20yrs ago, I had no idea paracetamol was so dangerous. His slow, horrific death is in the back of my mind every time I have a cold since. I tend to battle on without taking anything for colds/headaches/anything since watching that.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 25/04/2021 00:45

Was that not Lewis?

I thought Jambo went to live in Wales or something?

SueSnell · 25/04/2021 00:48

Jack (the dad) from This Is Us, even though you know it's coming...

I'm glad other people have said Fry's dog in Futurama. It was heartbreaking.
Ditto the final scene in Blackadder. It's so incredibly poignant and just so very sad. No matter how many times I watch it, I end up sobbing.

This... I was so upset...
BoodlesPoodle · 25/04/2021 03:08

TLDR but

Molly in A Country Practice
Kate in Heartbeat
Cucumber
Poussey in OITNB
Buffy’s mother

BoodlesPoodle · 25/04/2021 03:10

@Orangesandlemons82

Kate in Heartbeat. I was only a teenager at the time and was upset for days.
I was very upset by this - also Cucumber - really shocking
DoomscroIIer · 25/04/2021 03:31

All the deaths in It's A Sin but especially in the first episode - the cameo was a blinder, just broke me. Episode 3 the circumstances were awful wrt dementia. Episode 5 was the shock of the announcement. But episode 1 had me heaving deep sobs for about ten minutes because of the circumstances of the ward and the fact he was blaming himself because of the mould. Just bloody heartbreaking.

KarensChoppyBob · 25/04/2021 04:14

@Mrsmadevans

Nanna the Royal Family Broke my DD2 heart
Yes to this too.

Find it worse rewatching since Caroline Ahearne's & Liz Smith's deaths.

FixItUpChappie · 25/04/2021 04:16

Buffy herself when she jumps off the tower and tells Dawn “the hardest thing in this world is to live in it”

^^This - I found that episode and it's finale very moving.

HarriR · 25/04/2021 07:18

Caroline's mum. Vampire diaries.

DitchinVirgin · 25/04/2021 07:57

@Wearegoingtoneedabiggerboat

Both upsetting and disturbing was the murder scene in twin peaks when BOB kills Laura’s cousin maddie. It lasted about 5 mins, it was horrific. Also before the walking dead, Andrew Lincoln was in a TV Programme called afterlife. It only lasted two seasons and no one seems to remember it. I don’t normally cry at TV programmes but the ending was absolutely heartbreaking.
And Laura in Fire Walk with Me. The lead up and inevitability is heartbreaking.
Heartofglass12345 · 25/04/2021 08:30

Yeah it was Lewis who died of an overdose. I rewatched a couple of old episodes when they were showing them over lockdown and Dawns death was really sad too, and when Steph went into the fire

sashh · 25/04/2021 08:42

Joe in Medium.

Henry Blake in MASH.

Another vote for Mark Green in ER. I suppose that dates me!

No it doesn't, that man does not age, I'm currently watching s3 of designated survivor and he looks the same.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 25/04/2021 09:11

Bonnie's gran in vampire diaries. Snow patrol again!

Joyce in Buffy

George in Greys

Marley

Not a death, more of a thought he was dead and he's not but Shadow in Homeward Bound.

Nana in Royle family

Cassie in unforgotten.

Anya in Buffy. I wanted her and xander to make it up 😭

BlankieBops · 25/04/2021 09:42

Will in The Good Wife. That one got me good.
