What's your most upsetting tv death?

Just watching Bones for the first time and absolutely gutted about Sweets which made me wonder which other tv deaths have upset MNers.

Lots of potential for spoilers here so apologies in advance.

Trainspotting- The baby

Zach and baby Trudy in Goodnight Mr Tom

She doesn't technically die, but Old Jack's wife in CBeebies Old Jacks Boat where he tells you about her death. The kids don't really get it, but the adults in the room are 😭.

Tarka the otter

And Joseph Merrick in the elephant man. The scene where he keeps looking at the image in the book of the child lying down asleep, then moves his pillows which he needs for support to breathe when he sleeps. He puts his head down flat & closes his eyes & that's where I go to pieces

Glenn and Abraham in The Walking Dead - I remember just sitting open-mouthed staring at the TV with tears streaming.

I haven't seen it yet and don't want to specify as is a spoiler - not released here - it's already been spoiled for me, but a main character in heartland dies early in to season 14 and in distraught. The clip I saw after is so sad 😭

Matthew in Downtown Abbey. Not just upset, but really cross the writers could allow it to happen!

Vera Duckworth in Corrie

I was going to say this. It was so sudden. Then her body was taken away and Jack was left there, bereft. Then when Jack died, Vera's ghost came back to dance with him (sob).

I was upset when Blanche died in Corrie as she had died in real life and she was such a great character

Lots in common with PP...

Including (Will in the Good Wife; Mrs L, Leo and CJ's BF in the West Wing; Adam in Spooks; Mark Greene in ER - the only time I've seen DH cry at a tv programme; and Billy in Ally McBeal)

However, the one that haunted me was Lewis from Hollyoaks. He had done some truly dreadful things (including raping his girlfriend), he then tried to kill himself with an overdose but he took days to die, it was such a horrible death. I could rewatch the others I've mentioned, but I would never rewatch this...

Ronnie and Roxie’s (Eastenders) death in the pool got to me couldn’t stop thinking about it for a good few days!
