Oh no @Motherofmonsters, hope he feels better later.
DS1 woke in the night with a chesty cough again, and was up for an hour. Going to call the Dr again when it opens.

Motherofmonsters · 25/06/2021 08:57

Thanks @chocolatetrifle, I hope so to. He's kept everything down so far so fingers crossed. To be honest DD is being more awkward she's just shouting for drinks and then screaming at everything I give her.

Oh no, that's rubbish he's got a cough, hopefully the GP can help.

Chocolatetrifle · 25/06/2021 08:59

@Motherofmonsters, sounds exactly like here. dS2 is also at the screaming about everything stage where nothing is right. He's already had to have a short nap he was so grumpy.

That's good your DS has kept his breakfast down. Hopefully his tummy will settle.

Oh no @motherofmonsters poor DS. My DS2 threw up on me last night too (I don't think his is his tummy, just too much dribble related).

He is completely fine now, but we still haven't got the pcr results tests so are all off work/school/nursery. DS1 has already had a letter about attendance this term Sad (mainly because his brother seems to get a fever every 3 weeks atm)

I hope your DS1 feels better soon @chocolatetrifle

Did anyone read the Guardian article this morning about all the extra pre-school age DC getting ill in summer as restrictions ease. It sounds like our thread is a prime example of it.
CakeBrew for all!

Chocolatetrifle · 25/06/2021 09:21

Yes @Camomila, Its because all the winter bugs are doing the rounds now instead apparently. Glad your DS2 is a bit better.

It seems unfair that you have had that letter from school, surely they understand more than anywhere really of the need for isolation periods. Sending you support x

PinkDaydreams · 25/06/2021 10:07

I agree, surely @Camomila the school shouldn't be sending out attendance letters?! You're being a responsible parent keeping them off during this time of covid. I was dropping son off at nursery the other week and a parent was arguing with the teacher about her daughter. Teacher has said she had to go home and do a covid test as the parent had told her that daughter had spent weekend with a relative that's got covid 🤦🏻‍♀️the little girl was coughing everywhere, I felt sorry for the teacher.

@Motherofmonsters and @Chocolatetrifle I'm sorry you both have poorly children, it's horrible when they're I'll as you just feel so helpless! My DS still has this cough and snotty nose, but he's fine in himself otherwise. The inhaler has helped a little bit.

What are everyone's plans today? Rain all day here according to the forecast Confused D's is currently helping with the washing up, don't worry there's no sharps! He likes pouring the bubbly water between cups and bowls.

Chocolatetrifle · 25/06/2021 10:23

@PinkDaydreams, sorry your DS still has his cough. Glad the inhaler has helped him.

Back from the doctor and DS1 has more antibiotics for his residual chest infection. It's been going on for weeks now.

Going to bake a lemon drizzle cake from box mix in a bit.

It's that awful fine rain today. No wonder all our DC are ill, it keeps going from a dry hot day to a wet day at the moment.

Sending everyone support.

PinkDaydreams · 25/06/2021 11:27

Oh my goodness I love lemon drizzle cake!!! I should get some box mixes in, try encourage ds to help out although I'd end up eating all the cake as he hates cake!!

Chocolatetrifle · 25/06/2021 13:58

It was a Dr Oetker tray bake, turned out nice and I'm no baker!

Still raining here and DS1 has made a bed on the couch.

Going to get the pretend play stuff out, doctors kit and tool kit I think for a bit. How is your DS now @Motherofmonsters?

@theprisonerofazkabitch, car journey entertainment? Hmmm, how about those magic pen water books?

Motherofmonsters · 25/06/2021 15:20

He's okay now thank you @chocolatetrifle. Back to running around causing chaos.

I had the doctors kit earlier with DD, she loved playing with it and all the dolls are in good health. We then set up a picnic for a toy dinosaur, panda soft toy and a musical cat. I also had to pretend drink many cups of tea.

We've just had an ice cream cone to break up the day (I can go and hide away for 5mins) DH has got opticians after work so I'm doing tea and double bed time.

Camomila · 25/06/2021 17:15

freeeeeeedom! DS2 got his negative result through earlier. Means I don't miss out on lunch with friends tomorrow (haven't seen them since last summer).

DH spoke to the deputy head on the phone, she basically said not to worry and that they have to send out those letters Smile.

Motherofmonsters · 25/06/2021 18:26

Yay glad you got your negative @camomila, enjoy your lunch!

DS fell asleep on the sofa at 5.30pm so he's been transported into bed, if I woke him up fully he wouldn't sleep until midnight. DD isn't far behind him either.

Chocolatetrifle · 25/06/2021 20:12

That's great news @Camomila and I'm glad you spoke to the school and it put your mind at ease too. Hope you enjoy your lunch out tomorrow.

@Motherofmonsters, ah, glad your DS settled, hopefully he's over the worst now.

Hope everyone has a decent night. DS2 has just gone asleep here so just need to settle DS1. They've not burned much energy this afternoon as we've been in. I wonder if it will allow for a later get up tomorrow? Probably not!

Motherofmonsters · 25/06/2021 23:50

Hope everyone is having a good night. I'm stuck in DDs room, she's not getting back into a deep enough sleep for me to escape. I can DS being restless next door to, I'm just praying he stays asleep

Motherofmonsters · 26/06/2021 07:33

DD was wide awake between 2 and 4.30 singing, messing about and then they both woke at 6! DS was kind to me and played quietly in his room for an hour and DD continued her whingey screeching at me

Chocolatetrifle · 26/06/2021 08:27

Oh @Motherofmonsters that's a hard night. Sending you a Brew.

We were up at 5.30.
Going to go to the Range again to stock up on puffy stickers and pop to the library today this morning. DH is taking DC to his parents for tea as I'm going to the opticians.

Motherofmonsters · 26/06/2021 08:33

Sounds like a lovely plan @chocolatetrifle!

DH had work this morning and came back with a Mcdonalds breakfast for me, I've grabbed it and scuttled upstairs before the little people could see

Chocolatetrifle · 26/06/2021 08:47

That's good @Motherofmonsters, enjoy!
Anyone notice that their DC become even more of a tyrant when on antibiotics? I swear they send DS1 into a mini hooligan.

Camomila · 26/06/2021 10:41

@chocolatetrifle both mine have only antibiotics once each (touch wood), DS2 was fine but toddler DS1 went completely bananas - head banging tantrums (on a bus!) and night terrors every night. The week he had tonsillitis was my least favourite week of parenting so far in 5.5 years!

@Motherofmonsters enjoy your sneaky breakfast. We all love the hash browns.

Going to look at another flat this afternoon - I've got all my fingers and toes crossed as on paper it looks amazing.

Chocolatetrifle · 26/06/2021 14:47

Hope the viewing goes well @Camomila

DS1 has played with ages with this make your own sand bottle, it's a bit like kinetic sand but more like sand crystals, only £2.99.

PinkDaydreams · 26/06/2021 17:29

@Chocolatetrifle

Here it is:
Where was this from please? I think my DS would like this although I know the colours would be all mixed up within seconds!
OP posts:
Chocolatetrifle · 26/06/2021 17:47

@PinkDaydreams I got it at the Range, but I've seen it on Amazon too although slightly dearer. It's good as the colours don't mix easily unless you shake the bottle.

PinkDaydreams · 26/06/2021 18:31

Thank you @Chocolatetrifle I never think of the range, I'll be paying them a visit tomorrow Grin

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 26/06/2021 18:39

Hi all! DH birthday today and has been a fair day. We had a man (A MAN as the children call him Grin ) out first thing to quote for a bathroom refurb, then took them all to big local playground. DD1 6yo made a new friend and was pelting round the place for an hour whilst the twins did loads of climbing.

After lunch DD1 went to gymnastics with DH and I took the twins down to the shop to get milk. They were in shorts, tees, wellies and their winter fleece mittens with sunnies on - obvs 🤣

Then birthday gathering for DH in the garden with kids tearing round before dinner. God I hope they're tired!!

Tomorrow I said I would take all three out on my own all day as one of my presents to DH was a childfree day... gulp! Seemed like a good idea when I suggested it Hmm
