How has everyone's day been? DS1 had his third day of preschool but they said he was very teary and wanting me all the time. They uploaded a pic of him doing a picture and he had so obviously been cryingSad. Hope he will find it easier on Wednesday.

Hope everyone has a decent night's sleep tonight. Have we fast forwarded to Autumn? It's gone so cold!

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 21/06/2021 18:46

Awww @Chocolatetrifle Sad twins are tough but at least they always have each other! But he will make friends and get on. You'll see 💐

theprisonerofazkabitch · 21/06/2021 19:26

Hiya thank you for welcoming me😊
@JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff haha with great difficulty😂. It’s actually quite a big boat though so it’s sort of like a flat I guess, plus we have quite a big outdoor space. I might have to steal your back of vaccing the car to escape the madness!
@Chocolatetrifle both our little ones were born on the boat so it’s all they know really, we’re super lucky to have the outdoor space we have though. I think I’d go insane if we didn’t have that!. Sorry about your rubbish nights sleep, it does sound like he’s going through a regression!. I hope tonight’s a bit easier for you. I’m sure DS1 will settle into pre school soon, my DD struggled a little bit when she started but she loves it now❤️
@squishymamma I don’t think I could go back to a normal house! It’s lovely to be close to nature. We have a permanent mooring but will go away for the odd weekend over the year though. Glad you got an extra half hour sleep!
We were up at 5, the weather has been awful today but thankfully it was a preschool day so I didn’t have to think of too many activities. DD’s been a bit of a PITA today, DH has become her favourite person and she hates me apparently. So she’s spent most of the evening screaming at me. I know it’s a phase they all go through, but it’s so draining.

Hi everyone, I've been having an organising day as DD has been at nursery and DS Preschool. I've taken back some clothes and been for coffee with my mum and sister. I had loads of clothes that the kids have out grown or my sister has given me that are too big so they've been sorted into bags to go in the attic and I've halved the pile of doom. I kind of wish they were at nursery/school again tomorrow as I feel like I'm on a roll.

Sorry your DS is struggling at Preschool @chocolatetrifle, hopefully he'll get used to it soon and love it. DD cries on drop off and weirdly at pick up to.

Motherofmonsters · 21/06/2021 19:54

I think DD has been singing at nursery today, instead of sleeping she's making her way through the nursery rhymes and songs. She's currently Singing hop little bunny hop hop hop

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 21/06/2021 20:38

Yeah we're being treated to full stereo effect of Wind The Bobbin Up here Hmm I mean fgs, it's nearly 9 o'clock and they've been in bed since 7.20!

Chocolatetrifle · 21/06/2021 21:00

Thanks for kind messages, DS1 said he liked it at school today so fingers crossed be better on Wednesday.

Just got DS1 asleep and DS2 has just woken, he only went asleep just after 8, he was blowing raspberries before going to sleep which made me think of your previous posts @JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff.

Hope everyone quietens down soon. Nursery rhymes are definitely annoying past 7pm, although I do like your Dd's choice @Motherofmonsters!

Hope everyone gets some peace and sleep.

Chocolatetrifle · 21/06/2021 21:13

Meant to say that I can recommend the Snufflebabe Bubble bath for when they have colds, it's lovely.

Camomila · 21/06/2021 21:16

We have had a normal boring work/school/nursery day but had some lovely news.

One of my best mates from school and her wife are pregnant Smile (obviously a it was bit trickier for them as they are both ladies and had ivf) It's not even my news but I'm just so happy for them I've been smiling all day.

Hoping everyone gets a good night sleep. DS1 is still awake but he's in pjs, calmy watching a documentary so he's fine.

squishymamma · 21/06/2021 21:17

@Chocolatetrifle the first part of preschool was rough here too, though just like @Motherofmonsters DD, my DS will also sometimes cry on pick up. He's also guaranteed to cry if drop off is handled by this one woman who works there and we have no idea why. Very random. He likes her otherwise, so that makes it even more confusing.

@theprisonerofazkabitch that sounds amazing! The boat I mean, not your DD screaming at you. That sounds tough. I have almost the opposite problem, I am the only one DS wants to play with and as a tired and irritable pregnant lady, sometimes I just want a rest!

@Motherofmonsters so glad to hear you had a productive day, and congrats on reducing your pile of doom! We have several boxes of doom I keep looking at but can't bring myself to open.

DS is fortunately too young to have reached the stage where he can sing, nursery said he was so tired all day today (no surprise after the intense weekend) and fell asleep with food in his mouth Grin he actually led me to the bathroom to indicate he was ready for sleep before we'd even eaten and was conked out at 6.30pm, bless him.

DH and I have finally talked everything out and now gradually thawing relations, which is also nice. And I took a 3 hour nap in the middle of the day and none of my colleagues noticed, gotta love home office!

Hoping all DC and parents get a restful sleep, I'm off to bed again

PinkDaydreams · 23/06/2021 10:17

Morning all and welcome to the new comers 😁

Hope everyone is well? DS is in nursery this morning then I think we will go to the park later on as it's alot cooler today, feed the ducks, play on the slide etc. I feel sorry for him, he's had a cough now for 3 weeks, it's not covid. He's now on an inhaler as gp thinks it's seasonal asthma. Changed his antihistamine as well but she said if there's no improvement by next week then he's got to have a chest X ray.

Has anyone started Xmas shopping yet?! I've picked up a few bits, Ds will be nearly 4. I've got a couple packs of magformers, some Playmobil, books.

Has anyone started Xmas shopping yet?! GrinGrin I admire your organisational skills! I never start before around halloween time. Pre DC I'd leave it till late December then buy everyone a book from the WHSmiths by the office Blush

I hope your DSs cough improves soon PinkDaydreams at least the gp seems on the ball.

We're good, I'm not working today so I did the school run then walked with DS2 to the playground straight after and enjoyed the sunshine. Got home for 10 and he's having a nap while I have a coffee and another breakfast

Glad you and DH are making up squishymamma errands/ikea are prime places for arguments I think. DH and I had a bit of a quiet muttered tiff in the argos car park last Sun - we went with both DC to pick up a toddler carseat for DS2, but then it wouldn't fit in the boot or the front seat. DM had to come pick me and the boys up while DH dismantled the baby car seat and put the big carseat in the back Grin (We made up again after lunch, I swear 90% of our arguments are because one of us is a bit hangry)

Motherofmonsters · 23/06/2021 12:55

Hello! I'm still on a sorting out mission. Managed to get a bin bag worth of junk out of my miscellaneous bedroom drawer and the bottom of my wardrobe. I've sorted through it before and I have no idea why I kept some of it! Couldn't get DD in her cot for a nap which is annoying so she'll be fun later. We are going to call in and see FIL as DS won't stop asking to see him (we saw him on Sunday)

No Christmas shopping starting here, DS's birthday is next month and DD's is in October so will start after then.

PinkDaydreams · 23/06/2021 12:58

@Motherofmonsters I love a sort and clear out, although I've put a few things on gumtree and have had so many time wasters! "I'm on my way" then not actually turning up, that's happened a few times.

@Camomila completely agree, our stupid bickering is normally because one of us is hungry too or tired!

Chocolatetrifle · 23/06/2021 13:22

Afternoon everyone. Hope everyone is doing ok.

I do hope your DS's cough gets better soon @PinkDaydreams. The inhaler will hopefully help too. Seasonal asthma is definitely a thing plus with all the pollen out too, it's a hard time for coughs and colds.

I have started a mix of birthday and Christmas shopping for both DS, only as their birthdays are in October and December so it feels like everything comes at once.

Not much to report from here. DS1 has been to preschool and seems to have settled a bit easier there today. He will go again tomorrow. DS2 has two molars coming at once, he spent most of yesterday being miserable and crying when I put him down and refusing to eat. Have weaned him off the milk in the night, only has a bit of water now. Except this morning when he was wide awake at 3 naming everyone so gave him milk and he settled.

I'm going to The Range later to get one of those garden Connect 4 games.

Hope everyone has a good day. Agree that the marital tiffs are down to tiredness, we usually then play the game of 'who had the most sleep?' which is always DH, as I tend to the boys in the night despite DH saying he is awake and up a lot in the night Hmm.

Oh, have booked a little seaside break too for July, looking forward to it but dreading it too, all of us in a hotel family room!

Heya, we went to playgroup this morning which was nice then met up with my DNan and had lunch at the park. The weathers been beautiful here today so DH has made a swing on our mooring DD’s loving it😁.
@Motherofmonsters well done on sorting out your pile of doom, I need to do that soon. I’m not too sure what to do with our clothes though as our DC are the youngest so nobody to hand them down to.
@Chocolatetrifle I’m glad DS1 seems to be settling in a bit better. Bless your DS2, molars are awful 🦷. We have a few holidays booked too, can’t wait!
@Camomila aww what wonderful news! Congratulations to them both❤️
@squishymamma it is lovely!. I’m not sure what I’d prefer, being the favourite or the least favourite!. Both are draining!. Glad to hear you and DH are making up!
@PinkDaydreams I hope your DS’s cough gets better soon, hopefully the inhaler improves it💐. I haven’t even thought about Christmas, I probably should soon though!
I’m so ready for bed, DD is still on the swing. I think I’ll leave bath and bedtime up to DH today and get an early night with DS. I tandem nurse both DC and they’ve been nursing a lot today which really takes it out of me.

Trapped toddler parents:"Where else can you post tuff tray pictures and moan about your husband?"
Chocolatetrifle · 24/06/2021 13:35

@theprisonerofazkabitch, wow! look at that swing! It looks lovely there where you live.

How is everyone doing today? DS1 had preschool again and was weepy walking in, felt sad leaving him but when I collected him he said he had fun and enjoyed it, so I'm happy with that. dS2 and I played with some puffy stickers, and he terrorised the tortoise while I cleaned him out and he pretended to phone DS1 on the phone and it was time to collect him. It soon passed.

We are just going away for 2 nights @PinkDaydreams.

Hope everyone is ok.

Camomila · 24/06/2021 13:51

Aww I love the boat swing Smile

We are isolating again as DS2 has a high temperature again. It is his first term in nursery so normal I guess. I feel a bit weepy today though, am just so sick of isolating at least once per month/keeping DS1 off school.

I have medicinal sugary tea and revels.

Motherofmonsters · 24/06/2021 13:53

@prisonerofazkabitch that swing looks great, DS would love it.

DS has a stomach bug so we're home for 48hours. Does anyone have any activities that are good for a 3year old and a 20month old.

Camomila · 24/06/2021 13:58

@Motherofmonsters we have had lots of fun today using a cardboard box to make a bridge for the toy cars to drive over. DS1 and I had a whole complicated "police cars vs pollution truck" role play while DS2 happily pushed his toy cars off the bridge.

Chocolatetrifle · 24/06/2021 14:26

Oh no, so sorry to hear of the illnesses.

@Camomila, hope you are ok? It's really hard having to isolate and wait for covid test results. Glad you've got some revels and tea. Sending you a hug.

@Motherofmonsters, hope DS gets better soon from the stomach bug. Hard to get them both engaged at the same thing at times isn't it? How about sorting a teddy bear picnic with some treat food if DS can stomach them, he can help you sort it all out and DD can feed the teddies?

Or making a collage? Cut and tip bits of old magazines and just generally make a bit of mess? To be fair when they are ill I just put the Tele on!

Sending you a hug too!

theprisonerofazkabitch · 24/06/2021 21:12

Hiya, hope you’re all doing good. The weather was rubbish this morning but thankfully we still managed to go to playgroup. It’s picked up now the DC are in bed so we are in our outdoor area with a few other friends enjoying the last bit of the sun before bed.
@Chocolatetrifle it is lovely, we’re super lucky really. I’m glad DS1 seemed better after pre school, DD was like that for a while, it was awful when she went in but she’d come out fine. Hopefully soon he starts to really enjoy it!🤞🏻
@Camomila I hope you’re doing okay, I understand how difficult it is constantly isolating💐 I hope your little one is feeling a bit better soon!
@Motherofmonsters DD has spent most of the day on it! I wish I was a bit smaller and then I’d have a go😂. I hope your DS feel better soon❤️ play doh or any sort of crafty things might entertain them both!.
We are travelling up to see family on Saturday, it’s only an hour and half journey but I’m dreading it with the DC. Any ideas on how to keep little ones entertained on a car journey would be appreciated!

Motherofmonsters · 25/06/2021 08:21

Well our morning has started with DS being sick all over me so that's fun, luckily? It was mostly water. He's now cuddled up on the sofa watching TV. Managed to get him to drink some smoothie and eat a squash ice lolly but he doesn't want food.
