Silkiecat is happy that DH is only capable of lying in bed cuddling her today following second vaccine, she is very happy 😻

Champagneforeveryone · 08/05/2021 18:31

ChampagneCat has started to use the cat flap magical portal. This has led to approximately 2000 notifications on my phone to say that she's left, come back, left, come back, left, come back.

Poor DH who "wasn't bothered whether we have a cat or not" is an utter wreck and is likely to sustain some sort of repetitive strain from his constant craning out the window and leaping up from the sofa. She's disappeared now and hasn't been seen for about 15 minutes, DH is practically suicidal Wink

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 08/05/2021 18:54

sunbird it's only for the year excluding christmas. I can carry it over to next year March.
In the past my vacations were spent on appointments bc. of DS, DMil, workmen etc. with the occasional outing.
This year everything I would enjoy is closed, cancelled, online or against the law. And I can't go on hikes.

HelenaJustina · 08/05/2021 20:18

Dull dank day here. DC found some play dough which occupied even the 13yr old for over an hour. It’s been remarkably peaceful bearing in mind two out of four of them haven’t left the house all day.
@theDudesmummy DC4 rode today too, lessons have just restarted, they spent the last year pottering on a pony belonging to an elderly lady from Mass (with DH supervising, he used to ride a lot, we had horses until DC2 was born).

theDudesmummy · 08/05/2021 20:39

@HelenaJustina the pony that DS rides is practically comatose, which makes me relaxed. He is autistic and does not always respond the quickest to instructions, so I feel safer with him having a really slow pony.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 08/05/2021 20:39

DH just asked me where his vaccination booklet is.
How am I supposed to know? I remained calm and will probably find it.

HelenaJustina · 08/05/2021 20:43

@theDudesmummy does he love it though? DC was ready for a slightly more lively pony, which has to be ridden rather that sat on like a sofa!

Nydj · 08/05/2021 21:10

@Prokupatuscrakedatus, you are a better woman than me - I’d be tempted to the paper mountains and suggest that he look look through them for the booklet Grin

Nydj · 08/05/2021 21:11

I have spent the day eating unhealthy food knowing that I would regret it later and guess what? I regret it now.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 08/05/2021 21:58

@Nydj Grin Found it.
We emptied DMil's flat when she moved into care. I collected every foto, letter, document, postcard in there. The family lived there from 1925 onwards and the papers were often older than that. And hey ho - I collected his original birth certificate, report cards and the vaccination booklet.

MissConductUS · 09/05/2021 00:59

@Champagneforeveryone, I've just watched the first two episodes of The Durrells and it is fab. Netflix didn't have it but Amazon Prime did. Thanks!

DH is still in bed (Sunday is his lie-in morning). He felt a bit rough last night - DS and I took Spuddog for a walk while he stayed at home, then although he insisted he felt better and was cooking dinner when we got back, I was not convinced so I split some logs up (how 21st century are we, DH slaving over a hot stove and DW wielding an axe!) and sure enough, later on he got the chills so ended up wrapped up in a blanket with the fire lit. I found the worst of the side effects passed within about 24 hours so hopefully he’ll feel a bit better today.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/05/2021 08:09

There is sun!

And there will be no lasagne today as DH has forgottenti buy the tomatoes. We'll have beans and köfte instead.

sueelleker · 09/05/2021 08:47

This year everything I would enjoy is closed, cancelled, online or against the law. And I can't go on hikes.
Reminds me of the Beverley Sisters song
"if it's something you enjoy, you can be certain that;

it's illegal,it's immoral, or it makes you fat".

Silkiecats · 09/05/2021 08:56

DH has just woken up and seems to be OK, he slept about 11 hours but so did Silkiecat so that's fine. He is allowed to sleep when Silkiecat is asleep.

Nice sunny day here though DH says he doesn't want to risk going out. DD has already booked in 3 things for next weekend and think rest of us will go to safari park then.

theDudesmummy · 09/05/2021 08:57

@HelenaJustina he is really just starting out with riding and for now he likes the placid pony...I am sure he will change as he gets more confident. He was so delighted to be back at the stables this week!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/05/2021 08:58

sueelleker
Oh yes: "Alles was ich mag ist entweder illegal, unmoralisch oder es macht dick."

Silkiecats · 09/05/2021 09:32

DH has just gone back to bed for an hour claiming he hardly slept last night. Confused

Farmer Wants a Wife Series 10 is now on Discovery so that's my morning sorted. Grin

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/05/2021 10:09

Still sunny - I am waiting for the sun to reach the terasse on the other side of the flat.

Sunbird24 · 09/05/2021 10:59

I woke up with a headache, but of nausea and a kind of spaced out feeling. Hopefully it settles as I’ve got an 80 minute drive back from my parents this afternoon. The sun is shining so I may be able to put the roof down on my car for it though… 🤞

Silkiecats · 09/05/2021 11:16

Hope you start feeling better soon Sunbird though would be tempted to take one of your 65 days off and have a proper rest and drive back tomorrow instead.

DH is back sleeping.

HelenaJustina · 09/05/2021 11:44

I’ve done the ironing after Mass and 3DC have got play dough out again! This is so bizarre...

Squirrel26 · 09/05/2021 11:56

Whenever I visit friends with kids I have an irresistible urge to pick up whatever crafting supplies they have lying around and start fiddling with them. Have you tried Spirograph recently? It's a lot of fun. Grin

Silkiecats · 09/05/2021 12:03

DH just got out of bed and started playing the piano. Silkiecat howled at his second note. He has not got his priorities right.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/05/2021 13:14

Back from the terasse. I have spent 30 minutes collecting aphids (Blattläuse) from my hydrangea. Malve (hollyock?) and borrage are coming nicely. DH has put the tomatoes and chilies outside.

Now I am resting the foot again.
