Dare I ask what colour dd hair is now silkie...?

Champagne oh they're funny when they are being so 'noble' in the face of such adversity.

Silkiecats · 05/05/2021 19:22

Its between brown and 🍊 Frownette though that was this morning. I have heard the shower going since several times and will await the latest colour.

Silkiecats · 05/05/2021 19:33

Dd is back to being vegetarian from vegan, which is great for us. Hope mri goes well MissC, had two before and there was a massive size difference in space in there. First one had space for me and a St Bernard on top, second was much more hemmed in.

soddingkitten · 05/05/2021 19:37

I'm sorry Sodding, it was a really tragic death of a child. You can read about the incident here

The story you linked to is very sad and sounds like it would have been very traumatic for all concerned. This additional story later in the article was 😮 too:

Last year, an MRI scan at a Rochester, N.Y., hospital pulled a gun out of a police officer's hand and discharged a shot.

Silkiecats · 05/05/2021 20:04

I spilt juice on my rug so am now doing an experiment to see how washable the washable rug is. One review said not very.

soddingkitten · 05/05/2021 20:11

My hair was done by a much more senior stylist today as my usual stylist is poorly, one who clearly considers himself an artist. He took ages faffing and tweaking. My dinner was going cold when I got home. I’ll wait to see whether he really is an artist when I wash my hair (and all the product out) tomorrow.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 05/05/2021 20:15

I once fell into the hands of a stylist. The day after I had (suprise) my picture taken at work for the sharepoint. It is still there.

soddingkitten · 05/05/2021 20:19

I did let him restyle my hair*. I’m not convinced I’m going to like what I see in the mirror tomorrow. If it’s awful I’ll go back and insist they tidy it up.

  • I’m not sure why. I hadn’t even been drinking.
Squirrel26 · 05/05/2021 20:35

The dog is FURIOUS because a Labrador just walked by the window. He doesn't like Labradors, except for the ones he does like. He's very inconsistent.

I'm not sure why it's already 8.30. It's nearly bedtime.

Squirrel26 · 05/05/2021 20:37

Ah good. The Labrador just walked back the other way. (That was a short walk...) More angst.

Frownette · 05/05/2021 20:53

Do you go to bed that early?! What time do you get up?

Sometimes I miss living in a neon 24 hour asian city

Squirrel26 · 05/05/2021 21:09

I start doing 'getting ready for bed' type things (like putting on the dishwasher and sending the dog out for a pee) about 9, then I go upstairs and faff about for ages, by which time it's usually 10, then I'm finally IN bed by about 10.30 and asleep by 11-ish.

I admit I could make this process more efficient...

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 05/05/2021 21:36

I go to bed at 22:30 with an audio book or a rain app. The alarm rings at 6.

MissConductUS · 05/05/2021 22:38

I'm checked in and waiting. They're running late

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/05/2021 05:11

They always are!
I hope all went well.

Frownette · 06/05/2021 05:33

It's out of the way now MissConductUS!

I've not long been up, I thought of going to the shop at 6am when it opens to get a frappucino then decided that was lazy. So I've made an espresso and am waiting for it to cool before I add milk.

We're going on a history walk early evening which I'm looking forward to.

IWanderedLonely · 06/05/2021 07:34

It was snowing just now.

Purrsuation · 06/05/2021 08:43

@IWanderedLonely

It was snowing just now.
That sounds lovely. Not doing that here, are you in England?
Champagneforeveryone · 06/05/2021 08:58

House to myself again Smile

DH (the poor brave poppet) has gone to work but was running too late to feed ChampagneCat so my lie in is not quite the restful experience it could have been.

DS has his first driving lesson this afternoon. It is quite amazing to think I am the mother of a child old enough to drive Confused

theDudesmummy · 06/05/2021 09:03

Was able to register for vaccine today (Ireland, they are doing it by age and my age is from today). I guess that is quite exciting news really, but here registering doesn't mean you get an appointment yet, so still a waiting game. My daughter, who is in Poland, also registered today, and was given an appointment for 20 May.

theDudesmummy · 06/05/2021 09:13

In quark news, I didn't realise I didn't have any cheesecloth so have used a bandage to strain the curds from the whey. Which means I will be trying the poultice idea but not eating it on this occasion as it will have bandage fibres in it. Have ordered cheesecloth.

Silkiecats · 06/05/2021 10:40

Glad you can book yours now Dudes

DD is off again with a migraine still, am starting to wonder if there's a link to hair dyeing though probably coincidence.

DS at school, DD asleep, DH at work.

Spudlet · 06/05/2021 11:06

DH got the text, so he gets his first jab on Saturday. Awaiting with interest to see what side effects he gets, if any. He’s actually usually pretty good at soldiering on through things, but the ambient grump levels definitely increase when he’s under the weather!

Raining again here today so I drive DS to school then went to the nearest town to do some errands. I now have some brownies baking in the oven and a cup of coffee and am debating what to do now - I will go out for a run this afternoon and time it to get back in time to collect DS in the car again as the forecast is not good. Trouble is I’ve sat down now and ddog has snuggled up close, so staying on the sofa is just far too inviting!

soddingkitten · 06/05/2021 13:08

I was delighted to find a Penguin* and an individually wrapped soft amaretti biscuit in the bottom of my handbag just now. I ate my sandwich at 11am, was hankering after something sweet and there are no shops open near to my office currently.

  • Translator’s note: chocolate sandwich biscuit bar, lunchbox favourite of British children.
Spudlet · 06/05/2021 13:30

Omg, I haven’t had a Penguin in years. I could absolutely murder one right now! (NB: the delicious chocolate sandwich biscuit bar, rather than the aquatic bird 🐧 Grin)

I have to go to the shops later for bananas, I wonder if the village shop stocks penguins... 🤔
