I was not mentally or sartorially prepared for the warmth we're experiencing here today.

Excellent news about the pasta bowl squirrel, it was a moment of high tension for a moment there

Today has been a game of two halves. I got too warm at work as my office is south facing and I had dressed for the morning chill. It turned so nippy earlier that DH put the heating back on. 🤷

Sodding is stretched out along the back of the sofa moulding himself to the radiator. He has achieved an impressive level of body contact.

In pet related news, I have held both of DDog2's back trotters tonight. I feel I can share this news here as it is utterly dull to everyone who doesn't know DDog2. To us it's nothing short of a miracle

Still not eligible for a vaccine, despite a (suspected hoax) missed/automated call from the ‘National Service for Vaccining’ yesterday. My sister FaceTimed me yesterday she never normally even voice calls just so that I could notice she was wearing glasses and she could tell me about how she is going blind spoiler alert, she isn’t

Though none of my options on that were closer than an hour away but it varies by area. If you only want at GPs need to wait but our area is doing all groups second dose before calling others so would be a long wait here but other areas it's a few days. Depends how many elderly you have.

DS is 17 today

We're paying for driving lessons but bought some little bits and pieces so he actually had something this morning.

Mini-adventure this morning when the chain came off DS’s trailer bike on the way to school. (I had it on the biggest gear down the hill and I think we were going a bit too fast, which may have caused it).

Unfortunately the trailer bike has a chain guard and I didn’t have a screwdriver with me so I couldn’t get the chain back on 🙈 So DS was a little late as we had to walk (I was concerned he might snap the chain trying to pedal) and then DH had to come in the car to collect the trailer bike off me before I could go home. And I managed to snap the damn safety flag too, tipping the trailer bike over to try and get to the chain 🙈

Home now though, I have fixed the flag with gaffer tape, and have pinched DH’s seat bar bag to carry a multi tool on for future issues. And I’ve ordered a seat bar bag of my own, so we can have one each.

DH just told me he was planning on having jacket potato with chicken korma but said he has forgotten the jacket potato so is now having chicken korma with rice.

It’s mighty nippy here today after a decent spell of lovely weather, during which we’ve had the exterior of our house repainted. The two painters have done a great job, it looks really good, and they just need to come back and retouch a tiny bit on a few windowsills because it started raining lightly on the final day. We were really lucky.

I’ve been on tenterhooks all day today because a family member is having quite a serious (elective) operation and I’m hoping to hear it’s all over and has gone well. Her life will be massively improved once it’s done and she’s recovered. But I can’t settle to anything until I hear.

nydj the future uni student in him has a bit of a thing for pimped up egg fried rice at the moment but you can never tell with him. The joy of growing up in a house where food is enjoyed and readily available is he has no fear of experimenting

DH has driven down to London to drop a piano stool at a friend of his, said he'ld be back at 6.30pm but would imagine it will be more like midnight.

My goodness it has turned cold here. Have moved the herbs into the garage. We expect frost. Also, DH will not countenance vegetarian food but has made a great lentil bolognaise, as he could add cubes of roast pork from last night...

We've had jacket potatoes but DH still isn't back.

When I left work there were swallows skimming over the pond for flies. Surprised they’ve turned up today as it’s cold and wet!

Ah talk of the devil, DH has just turned up.

We had a " world buffet" for tea tonight (grandchildren-minding day). Actually I'm trying to empty the freezer to defrost it. We made little national flags on cocktail stocks to stick in each dish. All very successful apart from katsu curry, which no-one liked.

Also forgot to add Happy Birthday to Champagne's son.

Four and a half hours later, my Zoom meeting from hell is over.

We realized today (28 degrees out) that our central AC is not working. We had a refrigerant leak last fall and the company said they'd finish sorting it but the bloke who was working on it retired and no one else followed up. They're coming on Friday to look at it. Fortunately, we're back to cool temperatures tomorrow.
