@Nydj
Lupines are lovely!
A friend of ours gave his partner a night sight headset as a present. She went out into her garden at night and saw snails in their thousands.... she was not happy!

Sunbird24 · 23/04/2021 17:21

If that was my virgin pina colada smoothie it’s (frozen) avocado, spinach and pineapple, with coconut milk and a squeeze of honey! Sure you can make it with fresh fruit & veg too, I just have those things in my freezer. The other one I like is mixed frozen berries, avocado, spinach and almond milk, with a spoonful of Nutella...

Silkiecats · 23/04/2021 17:47

DH just said he had things for aligot for dinner. I said that's nice, I had been thinking of fish and chips from the fish and chip shop but aligot would be nice. Then DH said I want fish and chips. So we are having fish and chips.

Sunbird24 · 23/04/2021 17:51

Ooh, now I fancy fish & chips...

Nydj · 23/04/2021 18:04

I agree @Prokupatuscrakedatus, lupine are lovely - if only they would grow in my garden!

Thank you @Sunbird24 - sorry I got confused about whose recipe it was!

HelenaJustina · 23/04/2021 18:44

We’re having left over curry (squash and spinach from the cookbook I frequently reference!). I really want gin... have fed the DC but want to get them through showers before I start drinking!

Sunbird24 · 23/04/2021 18:50

I’ve ordered a Dominos - there’s a deal to get 25% of if you spend over £20 so I got a £17.99 pizza and £5.99 chicken side and saved £6...

OrdinaryLife · 23/04/2021 19:04

I've had crisps (jalapeño and sour cream) and sour dough with cheese Grin
I would like gin too - my first week, well 4 days, back at work after illness and I'm knackered! My Friday afternoon year 8 were on the feral side and are going to need a bit of training...

MissConductUS · 23/04/2021 19:13

Aligot sounds a lot like my Holiday mashed potatoes with cream cheese and sour cream. I'm not sure if I'd make a meal of them though, they're so rich.

My well-trained cadre of men Grin are making pizza tonight. There were no wildlife sightings overnight on the cameras but we have had more reports of coyotes on the Ring neighborhood app. I didn't realize they were that common in my area.

And in further DD vaccine drama, her uni announced two weeks ago that they absolutely would not be offering covid vaccines to students before the end of the term. Hence the drama with DD booking her jab at the pharmacy and flimflamming a ride there and back from my cousin. Yesterday her uni announced that they would be offering the Pfizer vaccine to students starting tomorrow. So now we have to decide if she'll go back to the pharmacy for her second job or get it on campus.

Aligot has stretchy cheese in it (tomme) and garlic and is from the region DH's family come from originally. When you go there it's served with almost every meal in the restaurants, I like it but every meal is too much. It's quite heavy.

DH always serves it with sausages or steak though I prefer mine just with veg as its heavy but DH thinks you need meat to have a meal.

DreamDancing · 23/04/2021 19:48

Our pizza was severely over-cheesed tonight to the point of being (almost ) inedible.
DH and I have had to resort to olives, crisps and wine.

MissConductUS · 23/04/2021 21:03

Welcome, @DreamDancing, and thanks for sharing your pizza news. I'm surprised because cheese is by far the most expensive ingredient in pizza so pizza shops tend to use too little, not too much. We are having homemade pizza tonight, which is shockingly quick and easy to make. It's also about half the cost of takeaway pizza.

Frownette, my apologies on behalf of Microsoft. Lots of American tech firms do that with country lists. They know what country you're in from your IP address, so I'm surprised they can't customize it.

Thank you MissConductUS
I usually make my own pizza but a couple of young guys local to us have set up a mobile pizza van and we wanted to support them.
Will order again but we might try to give them some constructive criticism re The Cheese!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 23/04/2021 21:27

I just had the slight misfortune of seeing myself on a zoom call.
I immedeately made an appointment with my hairdresser. I have neither the hair nor the face for long, limp, straight hair and not the manual dexterity or inclination for blow drying.

MissConductUS · 23/04/2021 21:28

A mobile pizza van? Surely they don't have a pizza oven in a van, do they?

They'll go bankrupt soon enough by using so much cheese, but it's lovely of you to support them. Smile

We have a mobile pizza van as well, with a proper wood fired oven in. It's expensive but worth every penny!

We also have a mobile Indian street food van but it doesn't come to our village All we get is the ropey fish and chip van Sad

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 24/04/2021 05:56

Good morning, bright sun through the window but cold.
Today I'll tackle the terasse.

soddingkitten · 24/04/2021 08:00

I woke up at 5.13 this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep. I asked DH if he wanted a haircut at 7.00. We were all done and the clippers tidied away by 7.30. I’m going through an early waking phase and it is so annoying. I long for more than 5 hours’ sleep and a lie in. At least this morning felt like I was winning.

There are a few mobile pizza firms here. All the ones I’ve eaten from have the wood-fired oven on a towed trailer.
Frownette · 24/04/2021 08:48

I've been offered a boat - I phoned my best friend excitedly and he said "where are we going to put it?" And I said oh in a corner somewhere. He went back to sleep, how very dare he! I'm catching next train to the coast if I grab this boat

theDudesmummy · 24/04/2021 08:56

Sunny again! My fringe needs a trim ( no hairdressers here yet) but DH says he is too busy today. So maybe tomorrow. Next Zoom meeting is on Tuesday so definitely before then...

theDudesmummy · 24/04/2021 08:57

Oh dear me, I have just realised it is our 16th wedding anniversary tomorrow!

MissConductUS · 24/04/2021 10:41

I woke up about 5:00 here, which is actually late for me. I'm surprised the cats didn't wake me to feed them earlier.

Last week I posted a picture of a large cat in a very small box. Here is a picture of a small cat in a large box. The box contained a straw, wide-brimmed hat for DS, who has rejoined his local rowing club as a coach and who will be out on the water later this morning.

Sodding, the pizza oven on a trailer makes sense. I was picturing it in the van somehow.

Happy anniversary @theDudesmummy!

The only critter to appear on Conduct Cam was a raccoon. He seemed to be limping a bit, the poor sod.

I'm off to lift weights and ride the stationary bike while I watch Netflix.

Lazy morning for me today. DH brought me two coffees in bed and offered to do the ballet/tap/football ferrying this morning. I’ve been for a run and had a shower (and the third load of laundry is on the spin cycle) but otherwise nothing achieved!

Champagneforeveryone · 24/04/2021 11:40

We're weighing up whether to buy a ConductCam miss.

A pair of wrens have been building a nest on the gutter support outside our bedroom window. They're quite tricky to see without making too much fuss and possibly scaring them so we've been looking at a little camera.

From my limited research it looks like an Amazon Blink ticks all the boxes but it will be £99. We're supposed to be saving money but I know it will make DH very happy
