weewitch · 16/04/2021 21:40

So sad- she was fab. Condolences to her family. RIP Helen.

BettyOBarley · 16/04/2021 21:42

So very sad. She was on GMB a few weeks ago and I remember Kate Garraway asking her if she was ok as she sounded very croaky and unwell and she joked and said it was due to having children Sad

ShipshapeShore · 16/04/2021 21:45

Really, really sad. She was so talented and beautiful. Thinking of her family tonight.

babyinthacorner · 16/04/2021 21:45

Like many others have said, this has really got to me. She was just brilliant.
And the interview on GMB a few weeks ago - talking about their charity work with such passion when she must have been so ill.
Incredible and heartbreaking.

OhWhyNot · 16/04/2021 21:53

How incredibly sad her children are still so young

She was a great actress

madmumofteens · 16/04/2021 21:55

Such an incredible actress and so compelling and age 52 so young! Cancer It is so cruel and to leave 2 teenage children so very sad 😞 RIP Helen McCrory💔

AnneShirleysNewDress · 16/04/2021 22:01

I saw the GMB interview at the time but watching it now, the way her husband looks at her is just heartbreaking.

Roonerspismed · 16/04/2021 22:03

I was so shocked at this and I don’t normally feel this way about celeb news. So young, so talented

Me too. I now understand that interview. RIP
TheDogsMother · 16/04/2021 22:10

I was so incredibly sad to hear this. She was gorgeous, a brilliant actor and great campaigner. So young.

applecatchers36 · 16/04/2021 22:17

Incredibly sad news what a loss, what a fearless, strong, magnetic actor and personality. You got the sense that life would never be dull with her around. Devastating for her husband and kids. I hope her uniqueness is passed on in the stories told about her as they grow older..

FunnyWonder · 16/04/2021 22:18

I'm very shocked and sad to hear this. She was just fab. I loved her as Anna Karenina.

Pythone · 16/04/2021 22:26

This is so sad. She's been one of my favourite actresses since Charles II: The Power and the Passion. RIP. Sad

KatherineParr · 16/04/2021 22:31

Such sad news, she was a very talented lady - I remember seeing her for the first time in Charles II like so many other people here and being so impressed by her acting. Rest in peace Helen. Flowers

ThePluckOfTheCoward · 16/04/2021 22:32

Have only just seen this news and am devastated for her husband and children. I feel really upset at her death, gone far too young and with two young children now without their mother, but also she was such a wonderful, magnificent actor. You couldn't take your eyes off her, she owned the stage and screen in everything she acted in and I'm really going to miss her brilliant talent, RIP Helen.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 16/04/2021 22:34

Shocking, sad news. I wonder if she’d been ill for a while but was managing her symptoms and keeping things private, as she’d looked frail for the last couple of years whenever she was photographed.

helenoftroystonvasey · 16/04/2021 22:41

Awful. Awful. Young woman. With kids. Sad

I feel the same, really upset and sad. She was 8 years younger than me. Our neighbour died this morning, we live in a small village and the ambulance lights woke us up. He was early 70s and had being diagnosed with cancer 2 weeks ago. I lost my mum 18 months ago suddenly. I feel a bit overwhelmed :-(
halfhope · 16/04/2021 22:56

Wildswimming3 be exceptionally gentle with yourself 💐

Still thinking about Helen McCrory tonight. God bless her family.

WouldBeGood · 16/04/2021 23:20

I’m really sad about this

I saw her in a livestream play from the National Theatre, in a tiny theatre in rural Scotland. It was magical. Plus she had to cook a fried egg every night on stage: respect

lollipoprainbow · 16/04/2021 23:57

Always shocking when you didn't know the person was ill, I remember being totally shocked by Victoria wood five years ago.

BootsScootsAndToots · 17/04/2021 00:59

RIP Helen.

A wonderful actress, such shocking news 😕

chinchin77 · 17/04/2021 01:07

Devastated at this news. Have just listened to her Desert Island Discs interview - the dancing part had me in floods. She was one of mine and my late husbands favourites - may they dance together. I do hope the BBC pay proper homage to her - she bought so much joy and happiness to many. Condolences to her family.

AnotherSunrise · 17/04/2021 01:20
