What's the funniest name you've heard of for a family pet?

A friend told me today that they've finally named their new Shih tzu puppy who they got a week ago. He's gorgeous and fluffy and they've chosen the name Monkey! I know it's none of my business but I really don't think that name suits him and it sounds a little bit silly... but it's kinda cute at the sane time I guess!

My friend has a gorgeous dog called Sirius. He's a Black lab.

My dad thought our tiny turtle was very boring so named it T D Um.

And while we've had a run of cats with perfectly respectible classical names - Augustus, Ariadne, Artemis - I drew the line at my DH suggestion of Clytemestra. I knew it would get shortened to Clytty the kitty and there was no way I shouting Clytty out the back door at dinner time.

This is from an old joke. The teacher is asking the children the names of their pets. Little Johnny puts his hand up and says ''Miss. Miss my cat is called Cooking Fat''. The teacher replies ''Oh that is an unusual name!'' to which little Johnny replies ''Well that's what my dad calls it when he trips over it!''

I knew a family with 2 cats named Vim and Ajax.

We always adopt adult cats and don't change their names, as I think it's mean on them. That's why we currently have a lovely boy called Tank!

i used to have a pure black cross Labrador/ German Shepherd called Jet.
My dc had two hamsters called Honey and Treacle, honey was golden and Treacle was a brindle.
My friend has a black cat called Wolfgang, Wolfy for short.
I have adopted a cat from my neighbours (legally). They are moving and already have a dog. According to their dc 'Jack was a rescue cat had a sister who was pregnant so she had to go back. i assumed she was called Jill.

My grandparents named their cat Wally Jumblat after an Israeli politician. He was a stray who took up residence with them. They just liked the name!

Not a nice one but DH grandparents had a black cat called a derogatory name for black people back in the 60s apparently
They were actually very nice people and I never had an inkling of any racism from them

Someone I knew had a chicken called Oven. It was short for 'Egg Or Oven: The Choice Is Yours' because she refused to lay.
