What's the funniest name you've heard of for a family pet?

A friend told me today that they've finally named their new Shih tzu puppy who they got a week ago. He's gorgeous and fluffy and they've chosen the name Monkey! I know it's none of my business but I really don't think that name suits him and it sounds a little bit silly... but it's kinda cute at the sane time I guess!

I know a trio of cats in the same family called Schroedinger, Moonshadow and Fizzgig.

My friend had cats called Jellybean and Meatball.

I've met a puggle called Elvis a few times. If he wandered off out of sight on a walk his owner would say 'Where's Elvis?' and someone would inevitably reply 'Caught in a trap?'

I know a dog called dobby. But she gets called gobby most of the time due to her constant barking...

Our cat when I was little was called Chisholm. Because my dad was a big fan of the jazz trombonist George Chisholm. Who?!

Our neighbour had horses, and one had a foal. When we asked what they had called the little foal, we were told he was Les. We really laughed at that

There is a lovely boxer I meet regularly called Geoffery . Geoffery is as thick as mince and spends most of his walk looking for his ball and it always makes me smile hearing his owner call him :)

Two bulldogs called Benson and Hedges.

My dad has two springer spaniels in the 70's called Lambert and Butler. They were joined by a gun dog called Marlboro.

My dad has never smoked.

Oh and two iguanas named Mr Ig and Mrs Ig 😂

DD recently got 2 cats from a rescue society. They were brothers called Frank and Stein. She changed it to Frank and Stan.

I had a cat called 'Kat'. Not funny I suppose but it tickled me.

Oh, forgot to say - I have a tortoise whose actual name is Hermione (not HP related) but we all call her Shelley and my friend who pet sits her calls her Voldetort

On a vet TV programme years ago, someone brought in a tarantula called Fanny.

DD had goldfish called Milly, Billy, Tilly and Bob.
Bob outlived them all.

We had a rabbit called Alan.

My cat always seems to look worried, so I called him Ponder.

We have a cat named Megatron, which was funny when he was a little fluffy kitten but does make me cringe a bit when I have to call him in or take him to the vets. I always feel I have to explain that his name is a joke and we're not actually massive Transformers fans! He mostly gets calls Smegatron / Smegs / Smeggy now.

I knew of a cat called Anthea Turner, which I liked. I wanted to call our next cat Craig David but chickened out at the last minute.

Our cat is a Megatron too! It’s a she so she’s normally Meg or Meggles. It’s ironic as she’s a scrawny wimp
