Do you recognise any posters usernames on here?

I’ve been on here about a year or so and had about 3/4 different usernames but I’ve had this one for the longest....

I recognise a handful of posters usernames. Some for good reason others not so 😂 but it’s interesting given how many people are on here.

I suppose how catchy/different the username is to me, how frequently we are in the same threads and whether we have agreed/disagree in the past, if they’ve been helpful etc... all play a part.

So my list of user names I recognise on here.... (some of them I can’t remember exactly but I know if I see them so they won’t be on the list)

There’s definitely more but my mind has literally gone blank!!! I’ll add them as I remember. The ones above are in my mind because I’ve seen their posts recently.

I don’t read the names on every post but sometimes I either think “this person is spot on” or “this person is batshit” and yes I remember a few names that regularly crop up in each category

And a couple of the other blokes on here I notice and remember (does the secret “man on mumsnet” wave)

Oh goody! Is this where we have our convention for the daily "I've been on MN for a very long time" competitive posts and @ unsuspecting users as well as MN Royalty/posters on most threads the "usual" posters for no good reason?

Well there was debate about whether it was a bun, a flower, a biscuit or even a tit (someone once thought)

I knew there was some discussion as to what it was but I didn’t know someone thought it was a tit. 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah a few months ago. She was like ‘Ohh heavens, I thought it was a breast - thought it was used to illustrate breastfeeding’ 😂

I wonder if some of these beloved posters namechange and come to these threads to fawn over their own usernames.

Perhaps too cynical but not unlikely.🤔

I have different names for certain sections of MN in order to maintain some anonymity.
The trouble with this, is that the occasional gem of hilarity I come out with gets completely bypassed.
I've been here ages but no bugger ever appreciates my greatness

Same here @Ihopeyourcakeisshit. Sometimes I wish I could merge a new name with my Royalty username when I've had a particularly good series of posts that's been applauded many times but no one can trace to my beloved name!

Think that's why my royalty peers seem to stick to their main beloved username more often. Don't want glorious moments missed now do we?

Certain names do catch my attention.
Often it's the writing style or a particular attitude. Some I agree with, some I vehemently disagree with, some I can respectfully disagree with and of course there are some knobs that seem to exist purely to wind people up, although those tend to namd change over months.

Smaller sections and longer running "chats" and you do get the feel of the regulars and can spot a name change.

The only one I'll name is Zombie. I miss her writing style and dignity.

There's one on here that is seriously mean. I can't remember the name now but if they comment I'll know immediately that it's them. Even under a different name. They're extremely cunty.

There are some in the coronavirus topic that cause me to roll my eyes every time because they are just batshit.

A few of the well known names seem to appear on every thread. I do wonder how they manage that and real life at the same time.

I've only been on for about a year, but I remember loads of names. I make note in my head of those who always post eloquent and useful replies and also those who annoy me... And then I hold a grudge!
