When I was a teenager on holiday in Menorca with my family I met a kad friend school that I really fancied at the time in a shop. I think I just went red and mumbled hi.

When we were in Orlando a boy from DD's school was there too and was doing everything we were doing but a day apart (social media posting). We knew he was at Volcano Bay on the same day but didn't see him.

Yes! When travelling in Byron Bay I was getting a tattoo done and a friend of a friend walked in. Also on the same trip saw a girl I went to school with (we weren't friends but said hello to each other).
Weirdly several years later I was in a bar and a guy from Manchester we had met travelling had moved to London!

Not on holiday but ran into a family friend in the middle of London (we are both from the other side of the world). Was just strolling along and then oh hello!!

Bumped into not one but three different families we knew during a four night stay at Disneyland Paris. Was during February so not peak season either , though it was the UK half term week.

Several times. Saw some friends in Philadelphia airport. Work colleague in Tenerife. Two married (but not to each other) work colleagues in Geneva airport. That was very funny to us, not so much to them LOL! Girl I went to school with in Corfu. The owner of our favourite restaurant in Tenerife. It's got to the point every time we go away we wonder who we will bump into.

Bumped into our H&S manager at Carlisle Servicesa few years ago.Turns out that I was the last person from work to see him, as he had a heart attack and died a few days later.

Yes! A colleague in Sri Lanka - didn't't see her face the first night because they were both glued to phones (I quite judgily commented to DH). Then realised! (Was still a bit judgy).
Same hotel, got chatting to the owner and her son in law was a neighbour to my aunt!

Yes a couple of times...my primary aged son's friend and his family, staying in the same complex as us in Ibiza and the owner of our local convenience store in the Canaries.

My mum lives in New Zealand, she came over to the UK on holiday and bumped into someone in London who she she used to work with in NZ! Oh and she also bumped into her parents next door neighbour in a lift in New York! So weird!

@PurpleWh1teGreen

Yes - years ago the local authority changed to a fixed Easter Holiday instead of a week either side of Easter. Fortunately for us no one thought to tell the holiday companies so it felt like the whole of the county took advantage of term time pricing. We went to Florida & met 5 other families we knew. I should add the holiday companies soon got wise and it only lasted for the year.

Have also run in to neighbours in Norfolk, work colleagues in Dorset & DD's friends in Majorca.

Same here! Our entire town seemed to turn up in florida that Easter!
