What do you have to turn off that's on TV because you can't stand the sound?

I just ran into the lounge from the kitchen because QI started. I hate the theme tune, I hate the claxons. I don't know if I'd like it as a quiz show because it's like listening to nails down a chalk board.
I had to stop watching Eastenders because of all the shouting.
Sports aren't great but football is a no go because of the crowd noise. Just as well DP isn't a football fan!
Anyone else got anything they have to turn off?

Countdown! I think I had some kind of childhood trauma while Countdown was on because I can't stand it and have such a weird reaction to the opening tune!!

How are people saying about the intro to Gardener's World? When I hear that music followed the bird song and Monty saying 'welcome...to Gardener's World' I can feel my whole body relaxing Smile

dementedma · 06/04/2021 19:13

The woman with hair like a collapsed haystack on Gardeners World. her voice is dreadful

alexdgr8 · 06/04/2021 19:15

@OneKeyAtATime

Every advert
ditto
HermitsLife · 06/04/2021 19:16

I don't like shouty people on TV, there's just no need. DH is hard of hearing too which doesn't help.

Sean Dyche is a football manager and I have to leave the room when he's on. Hes got a really deep growly voice, I have a visceral reaction it really sets me on edge.

Jellybum2019 · 06/04/2021 19:20

Soccer AM. I hate it WITH A PASSION

LarryUnderwood · 06/04/2021 19:30

Those fucking nationwide ads with poetry and mawkish 'oooh aren't we all humans' shite. They make me want to vomit.

APJ1 · 06/04/2021 19:31

Alex Jones' voice.

Fudgeytastic · 06/04/2021 19:33

Football crowd noises, even worse now that it's pre-recorded. The commentary and Sky Sports news with the live score on a Saturday.

And the bloody Sky Mobile advert during This Morning. Drives me INSANE!

Cipot · 06/04/2021 19:35

Peloton adverts. And The One Show.

WinterStrawbsAreLikeTurnip · 06/04/2021 19:36

Most of the shite on tv lol

BluntlySpoken · 06/04/2021 19:36

Formula one.
I actually get an irrational rage. I could actually harm my self over it thinking of it makes my heart pound and want to gauge my skin. No idea why.

LemonRoses · 06/04/2021 19:36

Johnson.

longwayoff · 06/04/2021 19:37

Adverts. Eastenders. Come Dine with Me if it's got screechy greeters and squealers, any programme with that, actually, and ditto shouty blokes. My ears!

Bramblebutter · 06/04/2021 19:38

Rick and Morty, the voices!

HandforthParishCouncil · 06/04/2021 19:39

Lizzo.
Perf with Surf.

longwayoff · 06/04/2021 19:41

Bloody hell! How soon we forget. Donald Trump's vile creepy voice. Off immediately. Urgh.

Literallynoidea · 06/04/2021 19:42

Beth Rigby

NomDePrune · 06/04/2021 19:43

A toothpaste ad where she says "but how do you keep your mouth healthy?" like it's some big mystery. Have to grab the remote before she says it.

HarleyQuinnn · 06/04/2021 19:46

Midsummer murders theme tune Blush

HelenHywater · 06/04/2021 19:52

Oh yes, the You Tubers on tv. Partiularly the minecraft ones. Hate them

The One Show and Alex Jones' voice.

There's an extremely welsh newsreader on R1 in the mornings, his voice really grates. Matt and Molly on R1.

Plinkplonk1234 · 06/04/2021 20:05

The awful squealing popcorn on the Tesco sponsored movies.

TheVolturi · 06/04/2021 20:20

Football, the crowd noises, even worse now its pretend!

DodgeRainClouds · 06/04/2021 20:27

@LemonSwan

Unfortunately my TV sits in an alcove - so that very slight tenseful osciallating hum which is so common in nearly every TV drama is completely unwatchable in our house - you probably dont even know what I am talking about as its pretty much white noise to people with an adequately positioned TV. Its like a subwoofer in a nightclub. I really feel for the neighbours
We had this problem but then we bought a sound bar. Changed our world!
