If you're 5 foot 6 and a half... how much do you weigh...

As the title says... and do you think of yourself as slim, average or overweight?
I think I'm struggling with body image. I've gone down from 11 stone 9 a year ago to approx 9 stone 11... I still feel very overweight and want to lose another 0.5 stone at least. But people say I'll look too thin then. I'm 48 if that helps.

@MabelPines

I can’t understand how I’m stuck in size 20 clothes at just over 12 stone (78kg on my last weigh in with GP just after feb half term) and the rest of you are getting in size 12’s , I am a 40F bra so there is some boob weight, but it mostly sits around my waist (the most dangerous place to carry fat as well)

There may be some accounting for bloating /inflammation because of my RA I guess ? (Well that’s my excuse I’m going with !)

I think I can get into a size 12 at 11 stone bcos my bust is 34 B. It's all around my waist.
Rosieandtwinkle · 30/03/2021 19:27

13st 12, have managed to lose just over a stone since the beginning of Feb. Aiming for 10 stone by the end of the year Smile

liquoricecravings · 30/03/2021 19:32

I'm 5ft 5 and weigh 9st. I feel slim and wear size 8-10 (I have always had a little tummy pouch and my thighs wobble too if that helps Grin).

liquoricecravings · 30/03/2021 19:35

Oh, and I eat in moderation. I don't deny myself treats. Chocolate and biscuits are always well stocked in my house but I have three healthy balanced meals a day to offset my sweet tooth.

AbstractHeart · 30/03/2021 19:38

11.5 stone right now but I recently had a baby and am still breastfeeding. I'm planning to lose 3/4 of a stone by this time next year & even I'll be back to my pre-baby weight.

StuntNun · 30/03/2021 19:47

I'm exactly 5'6.5" and I weigh 9 st 8 lb. I feel average size and I think I need to lose another 8lb but I have a very small frame - my wrist size is only 6 inches.

forestsmurf · 30/03/2021 19:53

It's not just about weight though it's also how you carry it and how you feel in yourself. I'm 5 6" and currently 11st 5 and overweight (not long had my third child, working on getting the weight off). But at my lightest, post kids , I was 9st 6 but felt very slim I was a size 8 on top and 8/10 on the bottom and toned I didnt feel overweight at a similar size to you now, but like i said it could be perspective as this was the slimmest I had been so naturally felt great.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 30/03/2021 20:05

I'm over 60, I'm 5'7", size 14.

I weigh a smidgen under 11st, having very slowly lost 1st 5lb in about 4 years (was size 16 at that point). Currently BMI is just under 25. Would like to lose another half stone.

It's hard work at this age, I tell ya! So the sooner you all start the better, don't leave it as late as I did!

Ghostlyglow · 30/03/2021 20:11

5ft6ins. I'm 55, and around 9st 7lbs. I wear a size 10 ,but some of my clothes are feeling tight lately. I'd like to be half a stone lighter but finding it impossible to lose it (without starving myself, and giving up alcohol).

blackheartsgirl · 30/03/2021 20:48

Nearly 5 foot 7 and I'm 11 stone 7. Size 12 but feel ok

Would like to lose half a stone and then I'm happy

Surfdayssun · 30/03/2021 20:51

I’m 5ft 6 and a bit ..... and I am 9stone exactly. I had DS a year ago and was 9 stone 4lbs before I had him. Size 8/10 and wouldn’t loose any more weight.

FruitLoopzz · 30/03/2021 20:56

I’m about that height and weigh just over 10 stone x

IndiaMay · 30/03/2021 20:59

I'm the same height. Weigh 10stone 8. Size 10 in the bottom and 8 on top. I'm heavy as I'm very toned and do a lot of weights. I was 10 stone 3 this time last year though and felt better in myself

KERALA1 · 30/03/2021 20:59

I was 11st 9 size 14 took action now 9 st 9 size 10 and feel great. Maintaining by IF and cardio most days. Eat what I want but less of it fewer junk snacks and only eat between 12 and 7.30pm.

BarryTheKestrel · 30/03/2021 21:03

I'm 5'7" and currently 13st, size 14, age 31.
I'm down 7lbs and heading towards further losses, my comfortable weight is between 10st7 and 11st7. Even at 13st7 I have A cups, losing too much for me means I lose all shape. I'd rather have some shape than be what would be super thin for me.

ltappleby · 30/03/2021 21:06

I'm 8 stone 2, it's a bit too thin. I think 8 stone 10 is my best weight. Trouble eating during lock down, because I feel down

Beach11 · 30/03/2021 21:09

58kg

RampantIvy · 31/03/2021 07:59

5'7" 9st 10.25lb. Size 12. People think I am thinner than I am because I have a thin face and no boobs Sad

I have wide set hips (thanks mum), so I will never be a size 10 in jeans.

Lostinthewilderness · 31/03/2021 08:04

Fluctuate between 11.5/12 stone (about 75kg)

Consider myself slightly overweight. Would like to shift a stone.

Lostinthewilderness · 31/03/2021 08:04

Oh and tend to wear size 10/12

RampantIvy · 31/03/2021 08:09

This is what I don't understand. Why is it that someone who weighs two stone more than me can wear a size down in clothes?

gggrrrargh · 31/03/2021 08:15

5’6, 37, currently 11st 4, aiming for 10st 7.

At my very lightest I was 9st 5 and I don’t think it suited me. About 10 stone is ideal for me.

yma123 · 31/03/2021 08:19

I'm 25 and 5ft6 and currently weighing 11 stone and wearing a size 10/12, the heaviest I've been was around last august and I was weighing 12 stone 5 lb and was a 12/14 and the smallest I've been in my adult life was 9 stone 13 lb and I was a size 8/10 then Smile

I definitely felt like I needed to lose some weight at my heaviest hence why I've tried to lose some between then and now, and I still feel like I have a bit to lose, would like to get down to somewhere around 10 stone ideally, I don't think it would be possible to easily maintain my weight if it went much below 10 stone!

LolaNova · 31/03/2021 08:21

You said yourself that you have wide hips. Some of it is just bone structure. You can squish fat, you can’t squish bone! Some of it is muscle/fat distribution too. I’m quite athletic so I tend to be a bit heavier than others a similar size purely due to muscle mass.
Lbnc2021 · 31/03/2021 08:31

@RampantIvy

Because muscle is more dense than fat. A pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat so I can be the same weight as someone who is a dress size or 2 bigger than me.
