If you're 5 foot 6 and a half... how much do you weigh...

As the title says... and do you think of yourself as slim, average or overweight?
I think I'm struggling with body image. I've gone down from 11 stone 9 a year ago to approx 9 stone 11... I still feel very overweight and want to lose another 0.5 stone at least. But people say I'll look too thin then. I'm 48 if that helps.

Around 7 and a half stone to eight stone.

BurbageBrook · 30/03/2021 14:44

9 stone 3, I feel slim to average.

Zancah · 30/03/2021 14:45

I'd prefer not to talk about that, I'm still carrying a little holiday weight Grin

(I'm currently 10st6lb but usually around the 10st mark, age 38 size10/12)

BigBeachWales · 30/03/2021 14:49

This is massively helping, thanks so much everyone who's commented so far. So interesting to read such a range of weight and such a range of body images. Thank you.

I'm the same height and age and also lost a load of weight over the last few years

I was down to 60kg which I feel is a perfect weight and I can fit into a size 10 if I'm 58-60kg but throughout lockdown, I've put on weight so that I'm 63/64kg (10 stone) and now feel much fatter and can't fit into any of my size 10 clothes.

9 11 is 62kg - I totally get how you feel and think a weight of around 58-60kg is pretty much ideal for my shape. Getting down to 60kg would be losing around 5lbs which I think sounds doable she wouldn't make you too slim.

I think when you lose a lot of weight it takes people a fair bit of time to get used to your new thinner body so they often think any more weight off would be extreme!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 30/03/2021 14:52

11st10. I was 13st8 but have lost nearly 2 stone since the start of Jan. I am told I look slimmer but I still feel the same. I’m aiming for 10 stone which was what I was pre-kids and felt about average at that weight.

mamaison · 30/03/2021 14:54

That’s my exact height. I weigh 56kg which converts to 8.8 st so that might be 8 st 10?

I feel medium slim. Not skinny. I’m in the healthy weight range. I don’t carry weight well as I am apple shape and have PCOS. Anything over 60kg/9st 6lbs I have a tummy that makes it hard to fit clothes well.

This is the right weight for me as it’s easy to maintain, clothes fit and my PCOS feels well managed.

But I have seen people this height who are heavier than me and look leaner/thinner/in better shape.

anothernewone · 30/03/2021 14:54

I vary between 9 stone and 9.11.

Thb at the top end of that I feel 'dumpy ', especially around the thighs and middle. The bottom end is my summer weight. Would love to be there all the time but I like a drink and carbs too much.

Scarby9 · 30/03/2021 14:58

I'm 59 and 9st6. For me, that is heavy and I carry it around my middle. About 8st 8 - 9 stone isright for me.

needtoseperate · 30/03/2021 14:59

I’m 5ft 6 no half- I weigh between 7st 10 where I feel hungry coz I’ve been working silly hours and 8st 6 where I’m comfortable

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 30/03/2021 15:00

I'm 12st 12 but just had a baby. Aiming to get to my happy weight of 10 st 7. I was a size 10/12 and slim at that weight.

PrtScn · 30/03/2021 15:00

I’m 5 ft 7, and currently nearly 13 stone, so overweight. Pre-baby I was around 11 stone, which I’ve tried getting back to, but not doing very well as I’m time poor, sleep deprived and weak willed.

linerforlife · 30/03/2021 15:02

I'm 17st 7lb. Having a baby amid a year of lockdown has not been kind to me Shock

LaceyBetty · 30/03/2021 15:03

I'm 5 foot 5 (sorry, an inch shorter) and my ideal weight is 9 stone. I'm an apple and lose weight fast around my bum and thighs but only feel happy with my waist line at 9 stone and below.

LaceyBetty · 30/03/2021 15:03

But I wouldn't really feel overweight at 10 stone. Just not ideal for me.

EasternDailyStress · 30/03/2021 15:04

Exactly the same height as you OP. Until I was 34 I weighed between 9 and 9.5 stone.

After having DS I've been pretty much yo-yoing between 12.5 and 11.5 stone. Currently 12.7 and feel horribly fat

BTV2000 · 30/03/2021 15:05

12st 6 or 80kgs. I'd like to lose around a stone, that was my happiest weight. I am lucky though in that my weight goes on my boobs and bum and hips and I have a small waist. Thanks to my hourglass I don't look my weight if that makes sense 🤔 though I know I need to lose a bit of weight to feel fitter again!

hamstersarse · 30/03/2021 15:06

I’m 5’6 and 46

I weigh 9 stone.

I used to weigh 9.5 to 10 for most of my 30s.

I feel much better at this weight. Slim and everything just fits better

LaceyBetty · 30/03/2021 15:07

@mamaison I have the same apple shape struggle. Even under 9 stone it is hard to find skirts and trousers that fit me around the waist. I feel that I need to weigh less than "necessary" just to fit into most clothes that have a waistline.

ThatOtherPoster · 30/03/2021 15:08

I’m 5’ 6.5”. I weigh 9st 2, hoping to get down to 8st 13 but it’s taking forever. I felt wobbly at 9st 11.

Castlecould · 30/03/2021 15:08

Same height and similar age. I’m a lot bigger than most of you at 12 stone ( size 14) feel
best at 11stone to about 11 stone 5 ( size 12)
Would need to really restrict my diet if I were to be any less.

Shelddd · 30/03/2021 15:09

If you want to lose weight, lose weight. Lots of people love to shame skinny people and tell them they're too thin. They do the same things to people who eat healthy or engage in anything else positive that makes them feel guilty. Don't let them influence you. Get to a weight you feel comfortable and happy at and do it for you.

Looneytune253 · 30/03/2021 15:10

I'm 16 stone 10 and a size 14-16. A bit wobbly in places but got a lot of muscle. Mostly solid as opposed to wobbly.

GRMA · 30/03/2021 15:10

I call myself Big and Overweight, I am 5Ft 7 and weigh 15 Stone 8lbs, I know I am overweight, I have a very big belly and boobs, last year before lockdown I had got down to my ideal weight of 10.5 st but I looked gaunt and ill, so I really want to slim my middle down doesn't help I have IBS and take regular medication, I will do it :)

BigBeachWales · 30/03/2021 15:11
