How many rings do you wear? (Engagement, wedding etc)

Since getting engaged and having a ring on my finger I have noticed rings on other women's fingers too, ranging from people I know to colleagues to strangers on public transport etc.

I have noticed a whole range from just a plain wedding band or engagement ring, engagement + wedding ring combo, some beautiful rings with small gems all round (forget what its called) to numerous rings on both hands (often on both ring fingers).

So curious to ask all you mumsnetters, whats on your fingers and is there a meaning behind each?

I'll start.. Just 1 ring for me, a solitaire engagement ring. I'm toying between the idea of a plain wedding band or eternity ring or both...(?)

On my wedding finger, wedding ring, Eternity ring and engagement ring. On my right hand ring finger a beautiful diamond solitaire which was a Silver wedding gift from my Dad to my Mum, and on my little finger, a gold gypsy ring that belonged to my late Mum in Law, whom I never met.

@as141 DH gave me my eternity band after DS2 was born.

Eternity rings usually after a big event or for a significant anniversary.

On my right hand I wear my wedding band, my eternity ring and my 10 year wedding anniversary ring. On my right hand I wear my late husband’s wedding band on my thumb and my engagement ring to my new partner.

Usually 3 + 1
right hand: single pearl in gold, pale amethyst (I bought both of those as a teenager) or emerald garland (I bought after DD2 was born - my push present to myself b/c DH didn't ...)

Left hand: 5 stone diamond in yellow gold - like an eternity ring, wedding band = channel set sapphires in platinum, solitaire diamond in platinum fishtail.
MIL gave me the the 5 stone ring after I supported DH through a very tough time - as a wife would.

I wear my engagement ring on my left hand. It is a white gold, double halo diamond ring with diamonds on the band. My matching wedding ring doesn't fit me at the moment so haven't worn it in a while. On my right hand I wear a white gold round double halo ring with a sapphire as the centre stone and diamonds around it and on the band. It was a valentines day present and sapphires are my birthstone. Once I have this baby and lose weight I am hoping my wedding ring will fit so I can start wearing it again.

3 stacked, half eternity wedding ring, full eternity ring and engagement ring. I wear these every day.
I have lots of dress rings such as swarovski ones which I wear for going out occasions...
So I haven't worn those in ages!

Just this at the moment. I should have added a plain wedding band by now but Covid has delayed our wedding so it’s still sat in the box with OH’s matching one!

DH wears our wedding band on the left and his parents’ melted into one Bulgari-style band on the right.

The only other ring I own is my grandmother’s engagement ring, being kept for DS to use or sell when the time comes.

None but I still have an indentation where my wedding ring was some 18 years later

I hate rings. I don't like any jewellery really. It feels constructive and reminds me of anvery corrupt industry, alongside the consumerist aspect.
However, I am both a hypocrite and traditional. I wear 2. A wedding and engagement ring. They are very small.
The engagement ring was a gift I was given as a child that I saved for that purpose. It is 1-2mm thick. The wedding ring I had made from recycled gold to fit it. The person making it said my engagement ring wouldn't last a year it was too delicate. It has lasted 9 years so far but if it breaks it won't bother me.
My dh does not wear a ring. I don't wear any other jewellery.

Just on the ring fingers of each hand.

I love rings! I have a platinum diamond solitaire engagement ring, and 4mm plain wedding band on my left hand and a diamond 5 stone half eternity on the other hand. My fingers are quite short and small so they didn’t all fit on one finger!

I’d love an emerald or ruby ring just for loveliness. Maybe one day!

3 on wedding finger, generally. A solitaire, my diamond set wedding ring and a full eternity ring…

But, not always the same rings. I have several engagement "looking" rings, several different eternity style rings and I generally mix them up a bit to keep it interesting. I will generally wear my wedding ring all the time though, just change up the others.
I'll wear something on my right hand most of the time too.

Rings shown are my wedding set, and on my right hand a ring I had made from two diamonds from my mother's engagement ring, and one I had in a gold setting I wasn't fond of. I designed the ring but didn't expect the circles to be as large as they are. However, over the years I have come to really treasure the ring and its unique setting. It is (only) sterling silver.

I always wear my wedding ring and engagement ring. I usually wear two rings on my right hand as well, I have a russian wedding ring I wear a lot and then one of my grandmother’s rings as well or a ring my parents gave me. I’m lucky to have a few options.

None. Saw a first aid video on degloving that put me off and that was the tipping point as I already considered it a bit... I don't know... Odd to put a bit of metal around your finger to signify your status.

Most days I dont wear any. When I do my engagement ring was actually an eternity ring. I only ever wanted one ring so got a special ring to signify all 3. I bought a super cheap plain band for my wedding day as people told me to but I've not idea where it is, I dont class it as my wedding ring

None. Lost engaged ring years ago and took off wedding band a few months ago. I don't like rings.

None. I've got an eternity ring but I don't wear it much because I don't like my hands particularly. Does all the handwashing and sanitizing we're encouraged to do not damage rings?

I wear three rings.

Left hand - wedding band and engagement ring. My wedding band is white gold and custom made to fit next to my engagement ring with diamonds along one of the crisscrosses. My engagement ring is a solitaire style but with some extra diamonds in the band. Love both!

Right hand - I wear a claddagh ring on my ring finger that DH got for me early on in our relationship. Just a sterling silver ring and nothing expensive but I love it just as much as my other rings.
