How many rings do you wear? (Engagement, wedding etc)

Since getting engaged and having a ring on my finger I have noticed rings on other women's fingers too, ranging from people I know to colleagues to strangers on public transport etc.

I have noticed a whole range from just a plain wedding band or engagement ring, engagement + wedding ring combo, some beautiful rings with small gems all round (forget what its called) to numerous rings on both hands (often on both ring fingers).

So curious to ask all you mumsnetters, whats on your fingers and is there a meaning behind each?

I'll start.. Just 1 ring for me, a solitaire engagement ring. I'm toying between the idea of a plain wedding band or eternity ring or both...(?)

I have an engagement ring and a wedding ring and I'm happily married, but just not a jewellery person.
Glad to see I'm not unusual thanks to this thread.

3 on left hand:
Platinum solitaire diamond engagement ring
Platinum wedding band
Platinum diamond eternity ring

2 on right hand (both on ring finger):
Nanna’s 18ct gold wedding band - which I inherited when she died
DM’s 18ct gold wedding band - when my parents married (1950’s) they couldn’t afford much so bought a cheapish wedding ring. When they had more money DF bought DM a new ring. I now wear the first ring and DM wears the second.

3, platinum engagement, wedding and eternity rings.

Plain platinum wedding band on left hand and a silver Russian wedding ring on the middle finger of my right because I like the feel of running it up and down my finger .

Only a wedding ring. Never wanted an engagement ring. I hate rings...often take mine off

No. I'm really not a fan of that look at all.

Wedding and engagement ring on left hand. Family heirloom ring on middle finger of right hand.

I think it looks very odd and clumsy to have a whole load of rings all stacked up on finger.

I wear engagent & wedding rings on my left hand, and a custom made ring with my children's birthstones on my right ring finger.

I remember taking my engagement ring off all the time for showers, washing up etc when I first got it, then realised I was far too likely to lose it!! The only time they've been off since is when my hands swelled in pregnancy.

I wear two: on one hand my birthstone; on the other one bought for me after I lost my babies during pregnancy, which is quite big and silver.

By the way OP, I had to smile as I remember when I got engaged I suddenly noticed everyone else's rings too! I used to stand on the bus fascinated at any I could see, wondering about the stories behind them.

Platinum slim wedding band and beautiful Art deco diamond with two diamond baguettes on either side set in platinum which I adore.
Other hand silver band I bought for a pound as a teenager. Also sometimes wear a diamond eternity ring, a vintage shaped platinum wedding band from my aunt, my late mum's wedding ring or a small diamond solitaire.

I used to have silver rings on all my fingers in my teens and early 20s, I loved silver jewellery, but over the years my skin has become more sensitive, I don't get a reaction I just can't bare the feeling of metal on my skin. I now wear a simple wedding band, have an engagement ring but haven't worn it for years.

I don't like wearing clothes that aren't natural fibres in recent years. Over lockdown after having covid I couldn't even bare denim for months. It's really strange.

All the time I wear my wedding (small ring that you can barely see) and my engagement ring.

I occasionally wear dress rings on my right hand. Or else my late Nan's eternity ring

Engagement ring (cost us 40 quid in 81) and wedding ring no longer fit me. DH had this ring made in a jewellers in Crete. I’ve got others, but I hardly wear any jewellery anymore. (Jesus-my hands!)

Engagement and wedding ring and sometimes I'll wear a ring on my other hand.

1. None of them ever come off. 3 on one finger on my left hand (engagement, wedding and eternity - all combinations of sapphire, diamonds and white gold) then 2 on the middle finger of my right hand (one passed down from each of my grandmothers - one is a diamond band, the other is a ruby surrounding by diamonds) and the 6th is also on the right hand but is another sapphire and diamond one that my husband bought me for an anniversary. It sounds a bit OTT when I list them, but aside from those the only jewellery I typically wear is a small pair of earrings.

These 3 on a regular basis, wedding, then eternity, then engagement.

If I'm going out I'll wear either my Tacori 3 island blue topaz or my Judith Ripka yellow canary crystal on my right hand.

Just wedding band. It’s platimum. I’m allergic to my plated gold ring

Three I made myself and the rest are treasures I've found through the years of my life.

I always e & w rings & then often wear rings like the image either across a few fingers or stacked & for certain events/nights out I like a cocktail ring.

None, I have my husbands initial tattooed on my ring finger and he has mine on his ring finger. Neither of us are big jewellery wearers.

Engagement ring and wedding ring (which is made from my late mum's wedding ring) on my left hand and my great-great aunt's "mizpah" ring on my right hand. Latter given to her before her fiancee went to fight in the first war, then handed down to my nana who gave it to me ❤

None usually, because I don’t like the sensation of wearing jewellery. If I remember I usually put on my engagement ring or eternity ring, or if it’s a special occasion I try to remember to wear at least my engagement ring. I haven’t worn my wedding ring in years because I don’t like it and don’t know why we got the one we did.

It’s led to some confusion in the past though. My colleague saw me wear my engagement ring for the first time not that long ago and asked when I’d got engaged. She was surprised when I said we’ve been married 10 years!
