How many rings do you wear? (Engagement, wedding etc)

Since getting engaged and having a ring on my finger I have noticed rings on other women's fingers too, ranging from people I know to colleagues to strangers on public transport etc.

I have noticed a whole range from just a plain wedding band or engagement ring, engagement + wedding ring combo, some beautiful rings with small gems all round (forget what its called) to numerous rings on both hands (often on both ring fingers).

So curious to ask all you mumsnetters, whats on your fingers and is there a meaning behind each?

I'll start.. Just 1 ring for me, a solitaire engagement ring. I'm toying between the idea of a plain wedding band or eternity ring or both...(?)

Can I ask, what is the purpose of an eternity ring? Do people get it with their wedding ring? after a momentous event..?

I've always worn rings..

On left hand I've a ring on each finger, a mixture of gold and silver rings

On my right hand I wear my engagement ring and wedding band, and occasionally on other fingers my nana wedding ring and another rig she left me when she passed away.

Day to day, just my wedding band.

Special occasions, 3. Wedding band, engagement ring and my Grandmothers emerald ring.

In the order they were bought:

1.A v shaped gold and diamond ring dh bought me when we were dating.

2.My engagement ring. A gold band with a solitaire

1. Wedding ring. Gold engaged with hearts

1. A silver ring from ds when he was around 7.

5.A gold lattice ring from my late dmil

I love my rings as I feel they tell the story of my life in a way. I also have a silver and jet eternity ring from dh and a Ruby ring given to me by my brother fir my 21st. I would love to wear them too but unfortunately i just think it looks too much.

Right hand I wear a ring which is a copy of the ring from Romeo and Juliet, on the inside it says "out of the darkness, light"

I wear three rings.

Left hand - wedding band and engagement ring. My wedding band is white gold and custom made to fit next to my engagement ring with diamonds along one of the crisscrosses. My engagement ring is a solitaire style but with some extra diamonds in the band. Love both!

Right hand - I wear a claddagh ring on my ring finger that DH got for me early on in our relationship. Just a sterling silver ring and nothing expensive but I love it just as much as my other rings.

Oh engagement and wedding ring on left ring finger. Ring from dh and ds on right ring finger, mils ring on 2nd finger of right hand.

None - I took my wedding ring off to do some cleaning ages ago, and never got round to putting it on again!

I wear my wedding and engagement ring on my left hand also a wedding ring on my right hand where my family come from we wear them on our right hand so wanted to do that too and a ring I got for a big birthday. So total of four.

I don’t wear my wedding ring.

People who wear the same thing every day

On a day-to-day basis, one silver ring on the second finger of my right hand (a present from my sister that I've worn for about 25 years), but I'm fond of costume jewellery and frequently wear rings on most fingers in 'normal' life (i.e. pre/post-C19).

Not married, don't believe in engagement rings.

I think traditionally an eternity ting is given after the birth of your first child or after an anniversary.

I got mine before we we married or engaged.

3 - engagement and wedding ring on my left hand. A ring my gran left me on my right ring finger.

Three. I don’t wear lots of jewellery generally.
A plain gold wedding band.
An fairly plain eternity with ruby, sapphire, emerald and diamond.

Then a very simple dress ring of three Sri Lankan pink sapphires, with a diamond either side of the row. A much enjoyed present given to me on a beach in Sri Lanka for our silver wedding anniversary.

I love rings, they are my favourite type of jewellery. I have quite a few - most bought secondhand from places like Ebay and pawnbrokers.

On my wedding finger: three stone diamond ring and full diamond eternity ring, both in platinum. These aren’t my original wedding rings but I prefer them to my actual wedding band (which is now too small for me) and engagement ring.

On my right hand: normally some type of gemstone ring. My favourites are a pear shaped blue sapphire with diamond halo and shoulders, yellow diamond with diamond halo and split shank with diamonds and a Cartier JUC double wrap ring with diamonds which I got for my 40th.

6! I'm a very jewellery kind of lady though.

On my right hand I wear a silver band with a tiny blue stone and my birthday Pandora ring.

On my left I have a costume jewellery ring that I just think is pretty, a black sapphire and diamond ring that my auntie gave me when I had my first born, my tanzanite and diamond engagement ring and my white gold wedding band.

One, just my engagement ring. My wedding ring has never fit properly even after resizing it. I love my engagement ring though and actually used it when we got married as the wedding ring had been sized incorrectly and wouldn't go on!

Sometimes up to 5 or 6! I love my rings

2 on forefinger or middle finger of right hand (dainty moonstone stacking set)

1 on right hand ring finger (moonstone)

My wedding and engagement ring I wear on my right hand pinky now, my husband's wedding ring (deceased) I wear on my left thumb or ring finger. I'll give that ring to my son when he gets married.

none, am not married or engaged and am always doing fitness or walking dog so couldn't cope with rings - I do wear earrings sometimes as have pierced ears but otherwise no jewellery.

I don't!

Neither my wedding ring or engagement rings still fit - I need to get them adjusted!

DH lost his wedding ring last year whilst walking our dog , so we're tempted to just treat ourselves to a new set..
