Vaccinated? Did you get a card?

I (happily) know a lot of people who've been vaccinated know. All of them seem to have been given a card with a batch number, an information sheet, and were given instructions not to drive for 15 minutes. I had none of these. I'm just interested if it really is just my GP (how it feels) that haven't given these out, and whether I should be querying it.

A little card with date, type of vaccine, etc, to show next time, plus an info leaflet. I had the AZ, there was no 15 minute wait.

MrsClatterbuck · 21/03/2021 13:26

I got a card as I attended a vaccination centre but DH had his through our gp surgery and didn't get one. Hopefully he will get one when attending for his 2nd jab. I will be reminding him.

BerniesMittens · 21/03/2021 13:35

I had AZ on Thursday, given a card with the batch number on.

Felt really ill on Thursday night, I was shivering with cold, just could not get warm. No matter how many blankets I had on with the heating on full blast. Then on Friday I was so hot I couldn't cool down. Luckily I'm ok now but by God I felt rough.

I had mine this morning I have a card that I've been told to take to the second jab. It was really well organised so was in and out in ten minutes.

Animum2 · 21/03/2021 13:48

I got a card and vaccination sheet, I think it's only Pfizer where you have to wait, I had Astra zenica and a few others I know we're told they can leave straight away

That was my experience, too, at a vaccine centre.
TheRealMrsJamieFraser · 21/03/2021 13:53

Many GP practices didn't ever receive the cards to give out to patients.
In the nicest way please don't query it with your GP, they have enough to be getting on with

toffeebutterpopcorn · 21/03/2021 13:54

Card but no sticker (or lolly pop)

knittingaddict · 21/03/2021 13:55

Husband has AZ vaccine three weeks ago. He was given a card and a leaflet. No sticker. He drove himself to the appointment and was told that he couldn't drive home for 15 minutes, but could walk around town.

I was given the AZ vaccine in the same place a week ago. I got a card, but no leaflet or sticker. My husband drove, so I was able to leave immediately. If I had hung around I may have got a leaflet, but didn't need one.

knittingaddict · 21/03/2021 13:56

Forgot to say, the venue was a local hub, rather than a gp surgery.

TheYellowOfTheEgg · 21/03/2021 13:57

Even if you didn't get a card the vaccination gets logged on your medical records.

I volunteer at a vaccine hub. Everyone waits 15 minutes after the Pfizer jab. With AZ some people (ie those with a history of allergies) are told by the vaccinator to wait and be observed for 15 minutes. You're also not supposed to drive/cycle for 15 minutes. A lot of people opt to wait the 15 minutes in their car.

Alsohuman · 21/03/2021 13:57

I guess GP vaccinations don’t need a card because the details will be entered on the patients’ notes. That obviously can’t be done at a vaccination hub.

SixDegrees · 21/03/2021 13:59

I got all of these. Astra-Zeneca vaccine at a vaccination centre.
No sticker though, even though there was a great big sheet of stickers on every desk. Maybe only people who specifically ask for a sticker get one?

Iwillgotothegym · 21/03/2021 14:05

I got AZ - a card and leaflet, asked if I had a lift. Not much use as formal proof of vaccination- no name on the card. Also easy to forge.

KnottyKnitting · 21/03/2021 14:13

I got a card and when I asked the nurse if I needed to wait she asked if I had driven myself she said best to sit in the car for ten mins before I drove home. I had the AZ vaccine.

MoiraNotRuby · 21/03/2021 14:19

The main purpose of the card is encouraging people to get both jabs, rather than getting one and feeling like its 'job done'. Uptake is high which is good and we need to keep the momentum going for the second doses.

Londonnight · 21/03/2021 14:28

My son and I had the AZ one at GP surgery, both got a blue card telling us which vaccine and date we had it on. Also got given info sheet. Told to wait 15 mins before driving home.

I know lots of people at a different surgery who haven't been given a card or information as to which vaccine they have had.

emptyraspberry · 21/03/2021 14:36

Yes to card and leaflet, and I got a sticker as well. Smile

They said to take the card in with me when I go for the 2nd dose.

RedcurrantPuff · 21/03/2021 14:39

No card, just got the vaccine insert leaflet. Told to wait 15 minutes before I drove home.

@LIZS

Flu batch numbers will be recorded on your medical records as they are done at surgery. Covid ones need a second dose hence card. Dm lost her card but has been to she just needs to take id to get second dose.
So you’re saying Covid doses aren’t recorded? Confused
Fnib · 21/03/2021 14:54

I had all those and I was given a badge 😇

Todaytomorrowyesterday · 21/03/2021 14:55

Yes I got a card :)

But no sticker 😂

Singlenotsingle · 21/03/2021 14:57

Yes I got a card, and was told to sit down and wait for 15 minutes in case of a bad reaction. No bad reaction though.

Fnib · 21/03/2021 14:58

I meant sticker when I said badge...
