Vaccinated? Did you get a card?

I (happily) know a lot of people who've been vaccinated know. All of them seem to have been given a card with a batch number, an information sheet, and were given instructions not to drive for 15 minutes. I had none of these. I'm just interested if it really is just my GP (how it feels) that haven't given these out, and whether I should be querying it.

They can order the cards and should have photocopied if they’d run out. I’d ask for a record next time.
It’s good practice to observe someone after any vaccination, the 15 minutes is a specific requirement of the Pfizer one though and doesn’t apply to AZ

VikingNorthUtsire · 21/03/2021 15:03

AZ yesterday, got a card and info sheet. No advice not to drive.

I've been running a fever all day, slept dreadfully, and headache. Been in bed all day. Hopefully that's my immune system stepping up!

PaddingtonsSister · 21/03/2021 15:08

@Frownette

Sorry you weren't taken care of enough! They must have been overwhelmed
What no sticker either How Terrible I was told to stay for 15 but left nothing else

Surely they must record the vaccines other than on the cards? Aside from people that didn’t get one, lots of people will probably lose theirs!

When I had my vaccine, they asked for my NHS number, and for me to confirm date of birth etc before I got the vaccine.

I couldn’t see the screen of their computer, but they were definitely tapping away at the keyboard, so I’m sure they must have been recording details of me having the vaccine. I suppose all that will get updated onto my medical records.

Blondie107 · 21/03/2021 15:28

I had Astra Zeneca, they gave me a card, a sticker and an information sheet and I could go straight away. Would have had to wait 15 minutes if I was driving

hashbrownsandwich · 21/03/2021 16:01

@Alsohuman

I guess GP vaccinations don’t need a card because the details will be entered on the patients’ notes. That obviously can’t be done at a vaccination hub.
Not true, we work at the hubs out of sight on our computers loading on to the medical files.
Okbussitout · 21/03/2021 16:21

I got a card the size of a business card. With type of vaccine (astra zenica) and I think batch and date of vaccine.

Midlifephoenix · 21/03/2021 16:25

I got a card amd was advised not to drive for 15 minutes so I sat in my car for a bit, developing a splitting headache which stayed with me for 48 hours.
My friend's husband was told to put his feet up for a couple days!! She was not impressed.

Bargebill19 · 21/03/2021 16:27

Cars and info. Also it has appeared in my patient access app - so can be used as proof for employers etc. (Passport in the making?)

Bargebill19 · 21/03/2021 16:28

Card not cars.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 21/03/2021 16:59

Yes I did, had to wait 15 minutes( Pfizer)
My second jab was booked there and then

fussychica · 21/03/2021 18:08

We didn't even get to sit down! I had mine at same time as DH. Very busy but no queue. Ushered in to a windowless room together. Guy explained procedure and answered any questions, jabbed us both while we were still standing and gave us our batch card and info sheet. No sitting down after either, just ushered out. AZ and said only Pfizer needed to sit and rest for 15 mins. At the time I thought it was fine and very efficient but afterwards when I thought about it it was a bit odd, a total conveyor belt. No sticker either! So glad I had it and hope there are enough supplies for my second dose in May.

Did she hear them say that? Sounds like he made that up , damn should of thought of that one myself

Diaryofanapper · 21/03/2021 18:35

No , not for either vacs

AdoraBell · 21/03/2021 18:39

DH and I have both had 1 vaccination each, both got the card and leaflet. He was told to wait 15 mins before leaving. I was asked if I’d driven, I hadn’t so they said I could leave immediately.

LadyDanburysCane · 21/03/2021 18:57

Done at GP surgery, jabbed, card and info sheet “please write your name on the card when you get home”. No sticker, nothing about driving, confirmed I could drink that night. I should get invited fir second jab in 12 weeks. Arm ached like I’d been punched for a couple of days.

LadyDanburysCane · 21/03/2021 18:58

Meant to say I had the AZ.

SamanthaJayne4 · 21/03/2021 20:16

I had a card and an information sheet. We weren't asked to sit for 15 minutes afterwards, we were told to. We each had a timer on our chair which was preset for 15 minutes. When it went off the nurse came and collected it and you left. I had the Pfizer vaccine.

MumofPsuedoAdult · 21/03/2021 20:19

Yes to both, though only had to wait if driving not walking.

MrsFezziwig · 21/03/2021 21:56

Do people seriously think that if you are vaccinated at a hub there is no record made on a central system? Confused
Alsohuman · 21/03/2021 22:06

No Confused. There are two different systems, the batch number won’t be entered on patient notes from a vaccine hub.

PhilCornwall1 · 21/03/2021 22:12

You'd think, but it was my GP surgery which was empty, I got in 20 mins early as I'd come from work

Query it. My GP surgery has fucked up big time on my first vaccine and are about to wonder what's hit them.

PhilCornwall1 · 21/03/2021 22:14

Then why does my wife's patient notes show she had her vaccination done at a vaccination centre?

BungleandGeorge · 21/03/2021 22:25

The vaccination goes onto the same portal wherever it’s done, it links to your medical records. It’s the same one that is used for flu jabs in pharmacies. Even the PCN (GP) hubs are a collection of 2,3 or more surgeries using the same site so they wouldn’t be able to access everyone’s medical records. All details including batch number will be on there. The NHS doesn’t need your card, it’s for your records and if you need details to show someone
