I have 28 house plants.

In my defence about 10 don't belong here (they're just here because they should be in another empty house).

Unopened email- hundreds

Slim clothes that will be out of fashion by the time I fit into them again

Tools screws used paint etc - wish there was some kind of community shed where this stuff could loaned out and not take up half my garden

Oh and pens! I only actually need a few to write notes and birthday cards ...so why do I have a cupboard full and drawers full of them ?

IReallyNeedMoreGin · 17/03/2021 20:39

Water bottles. Running gear (inc very expensive trainers!). Mugs.

queenofthenorthwest · 17/03/2021 20:40

Used to be books. My ex h made me get rid of them all.

Now it's shoes.

I'm going to eBay them and use the proceeds to re buy the books.

Truly wish this was me. This is the house where pens clearly meet their end although I've no idea where they go...i can never find one when I need one!

Jeans. It was about 50 pairs. From a size 6 to a 16, I have sorted out about 20 pairs to go to the charity shop when they re open but I can’t part with the rest. I have no idea why, and I have not worn jeans in the last twelve months.

Pyewackect · 17/03/2021 20:43

Cats , we’ve got seven !.

SchmooobyDoo · 17/03/2021 20:46

Cushions. I just bought a nice basket to put them all in! Seriously...

DelurkingAJ · 17/03/2021 21:55

DH smiles wryly when he speaks of the books. He got me to estimate how many I had once and I stopped in embarrassed confusion when I realised it was probably well into the thousands. It’s to my great relief that my own children’s books are now being read by DS1.

Work shoes. Work went dress down about 6 months before COVID and I have about 35 pairs ranging from about scruffy but comfy to nearly new. Same with suits...I used to buy one a year in the sales. But whilst we have space I will keep them as I might change jobs and then...

HeronLanyon · 18/03/2021 07:17

Oh giantrooster good ideas. I was trying to de lutter and rationalise - getting rid of old or not great tea towels and just have a small number of the type I want.
All of my ideas for them involve eg buying a sewing machine etc. May also set up an unexpected tea towel stall on my street. What a stupid mistake ! Wish I could have seen my own face as I opened them up. Bewildered and slightly frightened by them ! 24!! Grin

HeronLanyon · 18/03/2021 07:19

Oh and tights. Have not worn tights for 13 months. They seem to have been breeding in the dark recesses of my chest of drawers in disturbed as I just cycle through leggings/joggers//pjs/jeans (for ‘smart’).

Namechangegame123 · 18/03/2021 07:32

Children.

We foster which has only exasperated the problem Grin.

Chickens.

Giantrooster · 18/03/2021 10:56

Sorry, HeronLanyon didn't mean to be a busy body, but 24! Grin

You need to get rid of them somehow, otherwise they will still be there thirty years from now and you'll be sick of them Grin.
