I have 28 house plants.

In my defence about 10 don't belong here (they're just here because they should be in another empty house).

Too much of everything as I can't get rid of stuff as I keep it 'just in case'.

Particularly empty boxes, I love a nice empty box and have a wardrobe full of them.

JellyBabiesFan · 16/03/2021 22:09

Mugs. Where the fuck do they come from?

Doidontimmm · 16/03/2021 22:10

woodhill · 16/03/2021 22:12

Haberdashery and wool, crockery and Tupperware, stashes of toiketries, stationery

@VintageStitchers

Impressed. I do love a houseplant and I'm a bit addicted to pot covers too. So many nice ones about. Which need a plant 😕

Cushions. I have an embarrassing number and a dreadful habit of searching for more even when I'm half-buried beneath a mountain of the fuckers. Have no idea how or why this became a thing for me but brightly coloured (clashing) cushions make me very happy.

sweetkitty · 16/03/2021 22:17

Children
Animals

I only have one houseplant as the animals would eat them

ForeverInADay · 16/03/2021 22:18

Mugs, shoes, bags, books I'll never read, CDs I'll never listen to again, clothes that don't fit, TVs that don't fit the walls in this house (from old house)....oh dear I sound like a hoarder

CoffeeAndEnnui · 16/03/2021 22:20

pallisers · 16/03/2021 23:12

mugs. I think we have about 40. There are 2 of here now and 5 when the kids are home. Most came as jokes etc in xmas stockings or bought when on hols.

Also cutlery/kitchen ware. I realised today that in the kitchen I have:

A drawer for our everyday cutlery
A drawer for serving spoons/silver teaspoons/tiny forks/chopsticks etc
A drawer for spatulas/wooden spoons/tongs/stirrers etc
A drawer for knives/other sharp things
A drawer for other stuff like whisks/handheld juicers/measurement cups etc

And a drawer in the dining room with some other fancy serving spoons and our wedding present cutlery set that we rarely use anymore.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/03/2021 07:46

At the moment, books.
Stacks of non-keepers are waiting to go to charity shops.

Knitting yarn, masses in different colours, but I’m trying to use at least some of it up with a blanket. And a Worry Monster. More using-up projects will follow. Trouble is, some such projects make me think, Ooh, a different shade of blue/pink/green would be good for this, and off pings another order to Wool Warehouse.....

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/03/2021 07:49

@LudoBear

Pounds of weight.
I hear you.
FoonySpucker · 17/03/2021 10:34

Chairs. Bloody chairs.

OH is obsessed with having enough chairs for a party.

In normal times we have a party maybe twice a year.

The living room has to be set up so that everyone has somewhere to sit when (again in normal times) the children, their partners and grandchildren are here. That is usually 10 days in the summer and the same at Christmas.

Normally (and definitely for the past year) there is just the two of us and the cat.

wildthingsinthenight · 17/03/2021 10:38

Books. I have nearly 700. Could open a library.
Long cardigans.
Trainers and boots.

My 3 favourite things! Smile

wildthingsinthenight · 17/03/2021 10:39

Oh and mugs! Can never resist a nice mug
