Which party would you vote for if there was an election today?

And why?

I don't feel represented by any UK party, even the smaller ones.

The only ones that stand up for women's rights are the Tory's. However, as a working class Northener, I just couldn't vote for them.

I think I'd spoil my ballot. Sad

Greens, but only because I live in a very safe Labour seat

MissyB1 · 12/03/2021 22:41

Labour.

GintyMcGinty · 12/03/2021 22:41

We've got an election in Scotland in 2 months time. At the moment my plan is to vote Labour in the constituency vote and Tory, maybe Lib Dem, on the list vote. I want to maximize the chances of unionists getting elected.

If there was a UK General Election I would probably vote Labour.

First time I've voted Labour in a few years. Couldn't vote for Corbyn and until recently the leader in Scotland was mad. But between Starmer and Sarwar I feel I can return.

Stopping the SNP and independence is my top political priority.

Labour

Though I haven’t been overly impressed by KS I feel quite disappointed I had higher expectations

LuluJakey1 · 12/03/2021 22:42

Labour. I can not believe anyone would vote Tory after what we have seen from this government.

awesomekillick · 12/03/2021 22:47

I'd be absolutely fucked. Cant vote Labour after a lifetime of voting for them and being a party member. Sod that - their policy in transgender makes them an impossible option.

Same for greens and Lib Dem's.

Tory? Never in my lifetime no way ever.

So it's a spoiled ballot for me. Which feels terrible

Mysterian · 12/03/2021 22:50

My constituency is very much Conservative or sometimes Liberal. Labour might lose their deposit, but I'll vote for them at the moment.

BackforGood · 12/03/2021 22:51

Another who would really struggle to find anyone who 'mostly' represented me.

I mean, I've never found a party I agree with on everything, but have usually been able to vote for 'the best of the bunch', but it would be a struggle at the moment.

meow1989 · 12/03/2021 22:51

Labour, we have a decent Labour mp in our constituency who seems to be doing a good job.

Policy wise I'm probably more centre left so Lib Dems would be a more accurate vote but it would be a wasted one.

StylishMummy · 12/03/2021 22:55

Tory. Labour are a joke of a party

sweetkitty · 12/03/2021 23:00

I’m in Scotland do this is a reality in 2 months, at the moment haven’t a clue,
SNP after the Hate Crimes Bill/Independence at all costs No
Labour - political wasteland
Libdems - as above
Tories - never
Greens - meh

No viable choice

goldfishblub · 12/03/2021 23:01

Tory

Diemme · 12/03/2021 23:07

Tory

EcoCustard · 12/03/2021 23:07

At this moment I cannot vote for anyone party big or small at the he moment. None of them have policies that I can align with. I am thoroughly disappointed in all of them from the government to any of the opposition. I had hopes for changes after this last year but it’s more of the same. I would have to spoil my vote.

FaceyRomford · 12/03/2021 23:09

Lib-Dem. Very safe Tory seat here. Labour always a poor third.

MiddleClassMother · 12/03/2021 23:10

Well it won't be labour, the labour council round my area have done a shit job and the place is falling apart, yet the fools still vote them in! I don't necessarily fit with either party though, I'm politically homeless...

MeribleMelon · 12/03/2021 23:10

I’ve always voted tory.
But I run a business and have been very angry at the contracts given to their mates whereas my business misses out on these tenders.
Conservative values are meant to be that hard work pays. Turns out it only does if you went to Eton.
So for the first time I’m Considering voting labour. Don’t get me started on Dominic Cummings. One rule for them, one rule for us.

thesecretvoter · 12/03/2021 23:11

Until the other parties give their heads a wobble and realise unless they have a GRC tw aren't women it will have to be the Tory party. However the minute an alternative appears I'll be off like a shot.

noblegreenk · 12/03/2021 23:15

Labour

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 12/03/2021 23:17

How can you contemplate a Tory vote after this utter shit show? How?

Sn0tnose · 13/03/2021 00:25

I would have to do what I did at the last election and spoil my ballot paper. I hate that I have to do it but I cannot, in all conscience, vote for a party that supports self ID and I cannot vote Tory.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 13/03/2021 00:29

In May I'll be voting SNP first preference and Scottish Greens second.

GintyMcGinty · 13/03/2021 00:31

How can you contemplate a Tory vote after this utter shit show? How?

We have an even worse shit show in Scotland with the SNP but at least the Tories will not back independence so I can vote for them easily.

Unfortunately even in the pandemic- the constitution still dominates the debate.

SidSparrow · 13/03/2021 00:33

I'm the same as @sweetkitty

I would love an independent Scotland - I always voted SNP but I have seen a whole new side and now there is no way I would vote for them! They need a proper shake. The only party to oppose them are the Scottish Conservatives but that feels like the ultimate betrayl. My options are limited though. Whaddya do? Basic freedoms are important, once I know they're safe then I will fight for independence again. P.s. I'm not anti english, just want to be friendly neighbours Grin

DIshedUp · 13/03/2021 00:35

I've previously always voted Labour but I cannot vote for them anymore due to their bloody awful policies on women (or lack of them)

My MP is currently conservative, and has actually been very good but I don't think I could in all conscience vote tory. Which is a shame actually as I do like her

Can't vote green either due to their misogyny. I really wouldn't know who to vote for.
