Which party would you vote for if there was an election today?

And why?

I don't feel represented by any UK party, even the smaller ones.

The only ones that stand up for women's rights are the Tory's. However, as a working class Northener, I just couldn't vote for them.

I think I'd spoil my ballot. Sad

they’re doing a cracking job on the vaccination scheme.

I agree. Absolutely brilliant. Thank God Boris and co left it to the NHS and didn't try to get another one of his cronies a fat contract to deliver this.

doadeer · 13/03/2021 11:25

Labour

Notthisnotthat · 13/03/2021 11:32

I'm in Scotland and I think it will be a spoilt paper for me.

Would have voted SNP in the past but I just can't now due to their view of woman.

Labour is a complete waste of time too

I'm can't and won't ever vote Tory.

I should vote Labour but even my local labour councillor is a waste of time, never seen her in the 13 years I've lived in this area, she has no social media presence so I dont know what she does with her time. She doesn't attend our local community council, she wasn't even in the local paper in the run up to the last local elections. All other local councillors are SNP and do respond when emailed and have worked tirelessly for community funding and are making a difference.

MN is predominantly full of woke left wingers so this thread won't give a correct view of how people will actually vote. I would put the chance of Labour winning the next election at nil, fortunately.

From some of the the threads on here, it seems people vote Labour with the expectation of something for nothing. Increased benefits, shorter working hours, a salary paid by the Government to every adult in the country and other such daft ideas. It appears the voters are as financially incompetent as their Party.

hippy1952 · 13/03/2021 11:45

Labour.

Takeittotheboss · 13/03/2021 11:49

If MN is full of woke left-wingers, why are most of the pp saying Tory? Claiming it is because of the single issue voting of anti self ID is a cover story. Nothing the Tories do/say is good for anyone but them and their cronies. And that definitely includes not being in women's best interests. It's a vote for continued selfishness and the hate that is this current shitshow of a government.

Lonelycrab · 13/03/2021 11:54

Nothing the Tories do/say is good for anyone but them and their cronies

But they’re very good at tapping into jingoistic sentiment, and that is what blinds many many people to this fact. Labour realised this, hence their (misguided) idea of repackaging KS wrapped in the Union Jack.

Kendodd · 13/03/2021 12:03

Completely agree. The Tories trade on hate. I expect to see this ramping up soon to keep their voters on side as the Brexit lies come home and industries suffer.

frasersmummy · 13/03/2021 12:06

Anyone but the SNP. We absolutely must have a change from the one party state up here

StellaKowalski · 13/03/2021 12:07

Tory

User133847 · 13/03/2021 12:09

Got to be the Tories.

The other parties are woke.

User133847 · 13/03/2021 12:11

@Ihatemyseleffordoingthis

How can you contemplate a Tory vote after this utter shit show? How?
1) no other good options
  1. The vaccines will be their saving grace. Look at the mess the EU are in. They got it right big time with vaccines, even if they got some things wrong earlier.
Mrstwiddle · 13/03/2021 12:17

Tory :)

Arrowheart · 13/03/2021 12:20

@MrsFin

Conservative. Because there aren't any other votable parties.
😂😂😂😂🥺
Arrowheart · 13/03/2021 12:22

@User133847

Got to be the Tories.

The other parties are woke.

And the tories are???? I'm shocked at how anyone thinks they are the better option.
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/03/2021 12:23

Could never vote Tory. At present, every other mainstream party has sidelined women's rights and safeguarding children and other vulnerable people in favour of identity politics. So they're all out too. I have to hope for a halfway sensible independent. Solid Labour territory here, so my vote doesn't count for much, usually. London Mayor and GLA elections may be the one time I have a smidgen more influence.

Timbucktime · 13/03/2021 12:25

The Monster Raving Loony Party

lemonjam · 13/03/2021 12:41

SNP

because I want an independent Scotland, and I think they are doing an alright job (better than I think any of the others would do..)

IpanemaNova · 13/03/2021 12:44

Labour

Zoomoff · 13/03/2021 12:44

I'm in Wales. I've been of the opinion for a long time that, because we get the government that the English vote for and, given the tories are changing the constituency boundaries, meaning that Wales will have fewer MPs and thus less representation in Westminster, I vote for the person who will, in my opinion, be the best representative for my constituency. I'm in a safe Labour area but the current and previous labour mps have been career politicians and done practically zilch for this area (especially the current one). The tories always parachute a candidate in (the last one was English, living in England and with very tenuous links to the area). Lib dems don't have much of a presence here and, I admit, I need to find out a bit more about the Greens. But my heart is with Plaid Cymru. I don't agree with everything Plaid but they do have the best interests of the constituency and Wales at their core.

TalktotheFoot · 13/03/2021 12:45

Well. I am astonished to find myself thinking, for the first time ever, that I would probably vote Conservative. Even though I loathe my Tory MP.

Over the last year the current Chancellor has done things I never thought that the Conservatives would do in a million years, and I have had to re-evaluate my opinion accordingly.

LesLavandes · 13/03/2021 12:47

Conservative

StocksAndScares · 13/03/2021 13:09

It's so sad that so many of us have nobody to vote for Sad

zafferana · 13/03/2021 13:17

Self ID is not the only issue you should be caring about

It's not, but as a woman and a feminist I cannot vote for a party that trots out TWAW as an unthinking mantra and which is willing to trample all over the rights of half the population in order to pander to a loud and abusive minority.

Jaxhog · 13/03/2021 13:18

I think I'd spoil my paper!
