Which party would you vote for if there was an election today?

And why?

I don't feel represented by any UK party, even the smaller ones.

The only ones that stand up for women's rights are the Tory's. However, as a working class Northener, I just couldn't vote for them.

I think I'd spoil my ballot. Sad

Labour as just don’t trust Johnson and his cronies.

BearSoFair · 13/03/2021 10:09

Labour.

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 13/03/2021 10:11

It is truly laughable that people think a vote for Johnson, Gove and Rees-Mogg is a vote for women's rights.

Or that anyone would vote for a party who has basically seen the pandemic as a crisis not to be left to go to waste.

pheebumbalatti · 13/03/2021 10:12

Sinn Féin

This.

Labour for me. You can't just vote for a party based on one issue.

cutthebs · 13/03/2021 10:14

After the absolute incompetence of that past 5 years at least I genuinely cannot fathom why anyone would vote Tory? I'd rather spoil my ballot than have to put a cross next to them.

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 13/03/2021 10:15

These posts are pointless as all it does is give people the chance to criticise others, how about accepting others can vote for who they like and its actually none of your business

HotSauceCommittee · 13/03/2021 10:17

@Bmidreams

As a life long Labour voter, how can people vote Labour now? Serious question. Does Self ID not matter compared to their other policies? I'm stuck. Greens and Lib Dems believe in Self ID. Tories so far have voted against it. I will not vote Tory.
Ok, I bite. I agree with you, Bmidreams, I totally against self-ID and I absolutely do not believe TW are women, but it is this one issue that I disagree with Labour on. I think KS will be firmer on batting it away if he becomes PM as he was a high ranking lawyer and they like facts and evidence. It's their bread and butter and he has kept silent on the issue rather than coming out and supporting it. I believe he is being strategic on this, as a way into Downing Street, and then I hope to fuck he gives all the TRAs among his cabinet the heave-Ho. I must say, if I am mistaken, I'd still vote Labour. BJ would not get a job in my organisation, as he would fail the professional standards of behaviour expected. He's PM instead. So just no, to him, from me.
HurryUpSunshine · 13/03/2021 10:22

Labour. Get these bastards OUT!

HurryUpSunshine · 13/03/2021 10:25

I can't vote on one issue.
Yes agree with GC Femmes but I have faith that common sense & kindness will prevail.

The Tories have no kindness. They are fucking up the health service, education, brexshit.... entitled, greedy, mean spirited, racist party. I don't want them in power.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 13/03/2021 10:49

Frazzled, to answer your question I think they were very bad in that we should be be encouraging a work ethic in people and for them to live within their means with the choices they make.

Lost count of the number of posts I saw asking what the least number of hours to work to net more tax credits, how many hours to get around the benefit cap, how much more will I get if I have another child etc.

Toilenstripes · 13/03/2021 10:55

@zafferana

Conservative

They're the only party that doesn't support self-ID and is pushing back against the woke madness.

This, and I think that although they got off to a rocky start with the first lockdown they’re doing a cracking job on the vaccination scheme.
Lonelycrab · 13/03/2021 11:00

Labour.

Crookairroad · 13/03/2021 11:00

I am in Scotland. It’s really difficult however, I feel I would vote tactically to try and get rid of the SNP.

Snowjive2 · 13/03/2021 11:05

Labour.

Kendodd · 13/03/2021 11:10

These threads always amaze me. I just don't know what the Tories would have to do before people stopped voting for them.

One of the highest covid death rates in the world isn't enough.
Billions waisted in contracts to their mates isn't enough.
Risking the peace in NI and the break up of the union isn't enough.
Death by poverty isn't enough.
Tory Brexit bankrupting businesses (even fishing ffs) isn't enough.
Normalising lying to win votes isn't enough.
Breaking a promise to increase NHS pay (especially after the last year) isn't enough.

What would they have to do to stop people voting for them?

Diamondella · 13/03/2021 11:12

None of them represent me I would really struggle, I think the opposition (Labour) are an absolute joke.

Kendodd · 13/03/2021 11:12

The Tories have no kindness. They are fucking up the health service, education, brexshit.... entitled, greedy, mean spirited, racist party. I don't want them in power.

But the people of England love them.

Bmidreams · 13/03/2021 11:13

@HotSauceCommittee thank you.

I shake my head in despair. I honestly do. People are willing to ignore every disgusting thing these men have said and done - it really boggles my mind how people can have such tunnel vision. Self ID is not the only issue you should be caring about.
Kendodd · 13/03/2021 11:20

I’ve always voted Labour and always will.

I despair at this.
political parties aren't football teams. If they turn rotten/fail whatever, stop voting for them, hold them to account, NEVER let your vote be a given. I do wonder if we'd be better governed if their was no such thing as a safe seat and every voter was a floating voter.

This isn't a dig or comment about Labour or Labour voters btw, it's anyone with this devotion to a political party.

tiredandveryhungry · 13/03/2021 11:21

@Toilenstripes all thanks to our wonderful NHS which the Tory party are slowly destroying- chronically underfunding and privatising on the sly. I do not understand how ANYONE can think that they've done an alright job??

Kendodd · 13/03/2021 11:22

It is truly laughable that people think a vote for Johnson, Gove and Rees-Mogg is a vote for women's rights.

I know!

Bmidreams · 13/03/2021 11:24

Self ID is not the only issue you should be caring about

I'm really not arguing with you, but what is more important? I currently can't see beyond this and am genuinely fearful that this is the end to women's rights and severely compromises our safety. I don't want my 7 year old daughter showering in changing rooms alone with men.
