Which party would you vote for if there was an election today?

And why?

I don't feel represented by any UK party, even the smaller ones.

The only ones that stand up for women's rights are the Tory's. However, as a working class Northener, I just couldn't vote for them.

I think I'd spoil my ballot. Sad

Wont vote Labour as they introduced tax credits, the Green Party I would vote for but they would be unlikely to get a majority vote so I’ll stick with the Tories.

Ionacat · 13/03/2021 08:37

Locally labour or lib dem but I very much vote for the person at a local level.
Nationally? Probably doesn’t matter to be honest, we live in such a safe Tory seat that they’d probably vote for a lamp post with a blue rosette round it. So probably Labour or Lib Dem - whichever is the least worst option.

I’ll have to spoil my ballot-local Labour MP doesn’t believe that women are entitled to single sex prisons or refuges. LibDem institutionally believe the same. I can’t vote Tory (although they’re the only ones permitting ANY consideration of single sex rights atm), so it’ll be a spoilt ballot. Local MP took it by the skin of their teeth last time so if a few other women do the same it’ll likely go LD. it’s a shitshow, really.

MeanMrMustardSeed · 13/03/2021 08:58

Tory.

Figgygal · 13/03/2021 09:04

I would have to vote liberal

I’m I actually quite liked Corbyn and I don’t dislike Starmer however he is making no impact whatsoever they are providing no opposition despite the governments catastrophic management of pretty much all fronts you just have to see that from how many people on this thread are saying they would vote Tory which I just cannot believe this country should be up in arms about their corruption and ineptitude.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 13/03/2021 09:27

I’ve always voted Labour and always will.

But I’m not impressed with Starmer. I wish Andy Burnham was leader.

Orchidflower1 · 13/03/2021 09:33

I hate the idea of spoiling my ballot. I firmly believe every adult should use their democratic right to vote. However at present I really don’t think there is a party I could vote for. KS has been a huge let down and I’m not quite sure where to start with BJ. The smaller parties are just too weak imho.

BogRollBOGOF · 13/03/2021 09:38

Possibly spoil with the words "I am a woman"
Won't affect the XX,XXX margin that the safe seat MP gets in by anyway.

I naturally veer towards Lib Dem, but I can't even hold my nose to vote for them at present.

Frazzled2207 · 13/03/2021 09:43

Tricky round here as it is a Tory/Lib dem marginal. We tend to have voted LD in the past, tactically as an anti-tory vote, and although they do well in the locals the (awful) tory mp has won the general three times in a row.
I probably align most closely with Labour but am not impressed with KS especially on his views of Brexit. May vote Green but realistically neither Green nor Labour will do well round here.

What’s wrong with tax credits?

Me too I think he’s fantastic and will be back in Westminster one day. Also Ed M has impressed me recently. He was the wrong leader at the wrong time for Labour but I think his day is yet to come
ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 13/03/2021 09:51

Burnham would appeal to all the Red Wall l think. He’s from the north, fought for his city and has passion.

He’s also got lovely eyelashes😁

Would spoil my vote for the first time ever. Will not vote Tory due to their draconian lockdown measures and Labour are just a joke. They can't even agree amongst themselves on what direction the party should take!

RagzReturnsRebooted · 13/03/2021 09:59

Basically same as you OP. No idea. Shall we make our own?

SimonJT · 13/03/2021 10:00

Labour, very thankful to live in a labour constituency.

Crankley · 13/03/2021 10:00

God there are still people who'd vote fucking tory. Do you keep your brains in a jar?

At least we have brains.

Now that is a splendid idea.

ChancesWhatChances · 13/03/2021 10:03

None, I don’t think any of them are fit to lead. Our politicians are a joke in recent years.

OnlyBejoking · 13/03/2021 10:03

Another who has historically voted Labour who won't now due to their lack of support for women. I can't vote for the tories though nor lib dems nor Greens.I have nowhere to go.

Don't these parties care they making it impossible for women to vote for them?

zafferana · 13/03/2021 10:05

They're the only party that doesn't support self-ID and is pushing back against the woke madness.

GCSE2024 · 13/03/2021 10:06

I worry about women's rights under Labour
