Which party would you vote for if there was an election today?

And why?

I don't feel represented by any UK party, even the smaller ones.

The only ones that stand up for women's rights are the Tory's. However, as a working class Northener, I just couldn't vote for them.

I think I'd spoil my ballot. Sad

Oh, and if the Greens do kick me out, I'll just join the LibDems or Labour. I won't be silenced on self Id.

Thesearmsofmine · 14/03/2021 10:23

I honestly don’t know. I would never vote Tory, I usually go Labour but I just don’t feel like the represent me, in the past I have voted Lib Dem but wouldn’t now. I would most likely spoil my ballot. I don’t feel represented. I think many are the same.

@awesomekillick

I'd be absolutely fucked. Cant vote Labour after a lifetime of voting for them and being a party member. Sod that - their policy in transgender makes them an impossible option.

Same for greens and Lib Dem's.

Tory? Never in my lifetime no way ever.

So it's a spoiled ballot for me. Which feels terrible

This is all very well @awesomekillick - but if by not voting Labour you're enabling the Tories to seize your constituency perhaps you should consider which is the lesser of two evils. My seat is a swing seat - we've had both sides represent us over the last ten years. So if I vote anything other than Labour I am merely making it easier for the Tories to win.
PeterPanNeverLands · 14/03/2021 10:52

Given my choices I will still vote SNP

It sounds like you're a labour party member? Why don't you stay and fight self id from within? You don't have to then vote for them but the women in the party need you more than ever right now. I was on a thread a while ago on this same subject about the Green party and people leaving because of self Id and it has actually prompted be to join the Greens (haven't yet but have emailed them). I will make my views loud and clear and WILL NOT leave, they'll have to kick me out and if they do I'll shout even louder.[/quote]
Not a member any more @Kendodd. Sad I totally understand your point, that's where I was at the last election - arguing with GC people in exactly the same way, pleading with them to stay and fight. I felt so infuriated and helpless when they said they were giving up their membership and spoiling their ballot.

I had some hope that Starmer was going to address the issues and bring women back in but he's been worse than useless. He's said nothing about the appalling treatment of Rosie Duffield and in a recent interview belittled the concerns of women about trans activists.

He's the leader of the party so the party takes it's cue from him and it isn't listening to members who won't 'toe the line'. The only protest they will understand is the loss of membership and support.

In any case I've reached a stage of hopelessness where I feel the Tories will be in power for many years and the best hope is that they will get rid of Johnson and the other repulsive creeps and get someone in with at least some shred of humanity.
