Does anyone else think that the Harry & Meghan show isn't going to be that explosive?

I really doubt that loads of dirt will be raked, or muck spread. I'm guessing that there will be a few "it was hard to speak" type complaints, which the media will blow up, but that it's not actually going to be as exciting as we're all being led to believe?

He's a bonafide weirdo

Agree. Don't know why she gets slaughtered for being estranged from him after he's sold her done the river again and again. I wouldn't have had him at my wedding either

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 08/03/2021 19:02

I never watch it, but yes, it is.

This is getting all a bit like the Cuban crisis.

Meredithgrey1 · 08/03/2021 19:02

If Meghan agreed, I think HR should release the details of her approach to them.

Details of Meghan’s complaints about other people? I don’t think that would be fair at all (I also don’t think it’s right that details of the complaints about Meghan were leaked).

@PicsInRed

Surely re: mental health if MM you'd enlist and have the best mental health professional privately on Zoom etc within the day?

The palace said it would be a bad look to go outside the fanily so told them to keep it secret.

I find that odd because a) she and Harry could have ignored this, and b) a legitimate therapist isn’t going to sell the story, surely Harry could have got a recommendation (perhaps from the counsellor he has used for example).
SeafrontBingo · 08/03/2021 19:04

Why do I feel that MM would do as I would and Zoom from the loo if necessary? She could have found someone who would keep it confidential I would hope? Or even speak to someone on phone in interim anonymously.

I can understand confidentiality is more of an issue though.

Mummywantsaweewee · 08/03/2021 19:05

@SeafrontBingo my thoughts exactly. Harry should have got her a counsellor /therapist as soon as she said she was struggling. With the resources available to him it seems odd he didn’t. I don’t believe the palace prevented it happening either - the royals go to hospitals and use doctors so it’s no different. ESPECIALLY as Wills and Harry have campaigned for mental health issues. Very odd that Harry didn’t get help for his new wife.

PandoraP · 08/03/2021 19:05

This is why Prince William waited so long to marry Kate.

GADDay · 08/03/2021 19:05

Gah! I looked at the TV guide and couldn't work out WTF they could talk about for SUCH A LOOOOOONG time.

I gave up after 30 minutes. It was boring.

sagaLoren · 08/03/2021 19:06

We're on page 38 and I think we should all agree that we should just get rid of the royals. If the lavish lifestyles and ridiculous titles weren't horrible enough, the whole thing is now just becoming a massive reputational risk for the UK. I, for one, don't want this band of racists, paedophiles, money launderers and sociopaths representing me or my country. Bugger the lot of them.

CrunchyBiscs · 08/03/2021 19:07

What's even weirder, is why air your dirty laundry on a talk show, aren't they better than this. Even a book would be less trashy and would have got their point across but Oprah brings the flocks and more pennies for them.

Going on Oprah wasn't necessary for revenge.

But the big point that no one has mentioned is that we have had Covid for year - so all the normal news isn't happening - all the celebs marrying/ divorcing/ having babies - it's all severely limited by covid = hence we get Meghan and Harried to death.

Indeed. He's a classic relationships board - Stately Homes! - corker of a parent and it must all have been so exquisitely humiliating and painful for her to deal with that so publicly.
ImAncient · 08/03/2021 19:09

Yes and now estranged from both families.

SeafrontBingo · 08/03/2021 19:10

@Mummywantsaweewee I would be surprised if MM didn't already have a counsellor contact, or two, or three she trusted already on her phone.

She's been through a lot with her father and I am sure she'd be open to help of this kind. Surely in her career too, she probably used coaches, and counsellors etc. It would be incredibly common.

Justjackie · 08/03/2021 19:10

Thomas Markle is appearing on Piers Morgan show tomorrow morning.

Me, me, me,
woe is me,
whine, whine,
how hard is my life with my millions,
me, me, me,
want to be alone,
not happy being left alone (I was sympathetic up to this point)
where is all the attention I'm used to
hi Oprah!

Spoken like a true overexcited Daily Mail commentator 😀
halcyondays · 08/03/2021 19:25

I can’t believe that the Palace would have stopped Meghan getting help for her mental health. Diana saw psychiatrists/counsellors etc years ago and of course W and H. Others may have had it that we don’t know about.

JamesMiddletonsMarshmallows · 08/03/2021 19:26

Wouldn't it be a glorious plot twist if Thomas Markle ripped Piers Morgan a new one for being a vile cunt to his daughter

sonicsonic · 08/03/2021 19:27

Surely in her career too, she probably used coaches, and counsellors etc.

She clearly needed a different kind of support.

MaddieElla · 08/03/2021 19:28

The UK is so racist that they decided to go back to the US, where horrific acts finally prompted Black Lives Matter. Where your friendly neighbourhood police officer chokes you to death for the disgusting crime of being black.

AlessandroVasectomi · 08/03/2021 19:30

I predict that at 10:32 the National Grid will be overloaded as umpteen million viewers put the kettle on for a bedtime cuppa after such a riveting interview. Be prepared for widespread power cuts, folks

SeafrontBingo · 08/03/2021 19:30

Indeed @sonicsonic but you'd ask a trusted contact to source what was needed and use them as a sticking plaster in the interim. I am sure she's incredibly resourceful, she will have needed to be in the past.

Going to HR for formal help and them refusing you etc is terrible but I would be on the Samaritans in the meantime if nothing more.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 08/03/2021 19:32

There are a number of inconsistencies already. Harry says he went to senior royals repeatedly for help, and was turned away because he was told ‘we’ve all been through it’
He also says he felt he couldn’t go to his family to talk about Meghan’s struggles be because it just wasn’t something they could do. So two directly contradictory statements.
Meghan says the conversation about her baby’s colour was when she was pregnant. Harry says it was before they married.
Meghan and Harry claim they were secretly married three days before the actual ceremony. It now turns out that marriage wasn’t legal.
🤔

I would pay good money to see that.

Not going to happen though, Thomas Markle sold his soul and his daughter a long time ago.

All they do is lie and contradict themselves
