Just curious really. For 2 adults and small child, ours is on average £60 per week - some weeks £70, some £50. We batch cook a lot as it’s hard to make fresh meals every night with small person.

Would be interested to hear anyone else’s?

1 adult and 1 child aged 12. Before lockdown we were spending £200pm and now it's £300pm. That includes everything else from supermarket too like laundry stuff and cleaning products. We rarely get takeout so like to treat ourselves at the supermarket! Although tbf there's enough stuff in the freezer and larder to keep us going for a couple of weeks, I end up going weekly.

Kitfish · 02/03/2021 21:07

For 2 adults and 2 teenagers our food shop comes to £250 per week. Plus we buy a take-away one night a week for an additional £60-70.

£120ish. Two adults, two preteens.
We like nice food and experimenting in the kitchen.

I’m slightly ashamed to say that ours is about £120 a week at the moment. 2 adults and a toddler. I used to cook everything from scratch and spend time shopping around and at that point we spent about £60 a week.

We both have busy, senior jobs and were both feeling majorly stressed so have basically decided that for now we’re just going to make food as easy and enjoyable as possible. We eat nice quality food, but it’s all pre-made or pre-chopped and ready to cook. It’s hugely expensive, but has just taken one big thing off my to do list, so it’s worth the cost for now.

Tangledtresses · 02/03/2021 21:10

£140 per week
1 child
1 teen
1 adult

jelly79 · 02/03/2021 21:11

Probable an average of £60 a week for 1 adult and 1 small child. Cook everything from scratch but 3 meals a day and snacks at home

ImFree2doasiwant · 02/03/2021 21:12

Around £70 a week, sometimes more, sonetimes less. I get one delivery, and this includes (expensive) cat food for 1 cat, and all cleaning products, pull ups etc. Single adult with 2 small children (4 and 5)

I keep thinking I should shop at Aldi but I'm not sure if save much and would still need to go to tesco/Sainsbury for things that aldi doesn't have.

AlwaysLatte · 02/03/2021 21:13

2 adults, 2 children and a dog - around £300 a week on average.

stressyheffy · 02/03/2021 21:16

1 child

£180 a week.
£50 + on takeaways too

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 02/03/2021 21:18

£60 to £90 a week depending what things are running out
1 teen
2 adults

idontlikealdi · 02/03/2021 21:18

Prob pushing £200 if including everything alcohol, cleaning products etc. 2 adults 2 kids

Dog is another £30 or so a week.

Really is a how long is a piece of string question though.

My shopping is a mix of waitrose, sainsburys and the local butcher.

JMAngel1 · 02/03/2021 21:20

4 of us and around £100 per week (at Aldi)

mumtoboyscanterbury · 02/03/2021 21:21

I’m always blown away by people who say £50 with two kids, two adults etc. We love food, wine, plus I buy all my toiletries, cleaning products in supermarket so it does add up but can be anything from £90-150 a week. If I make the effort to go to Aldi then a lot cheaper, otherwise it’s Tesco delivery which I find more expensive than it used to be.

Onedropbeat · 02/03/2021 21:21

£140 per week

This covers alcohol and cleaning supplies

2 adults 2 children

isseys4xmastinselcats · 02/03/2021 21:22

kowari · 02/03/2021 21:22

£35-£40
One adult and one teen boy

GalesThisMorning · 02/03/2021 21:23

Around £100 a week. 2 adults, 1 teen, 1 school aged child. I'm sure it was more like £85 pre pandemic, but I'm trying to get food delivery now which rules out Aldi and Lidl. I miss Aldi and Lidl, I just hate the stress of social distanced shopping in a mask. Or maybe food prices have just gone up? Definitely spending more now though

TheByngster · 02/03/2021 21:23

I’m always staggered at these threads, I don’t know how you guys do it. 2 adults (husband a protein whore with a penchant for fresh berries) £230ish weekly

DinosApple · 02/03/2021 21:26

Between £80-100 per week, 2 adults, 2 DC (10&11).
That includes the odd bottle of booze, cleaning products, etc. It could be cheaper at Aldi but I love the convenience of a delivery slot.

I do sometimes do a run to Home Bargains and Farm Foods but it's usually £20 per shop even if I just go in for chocolate. But that would be one of the £100 weeks.
No takeaways. All packed lunches.

ginsparkles · 02/03/2021 21:26

When I was cost cutting so spent around £50 a week . Circumstances have now changed so I buy more luxuries and spend about £70-80 a week plus a farm shop visit for about £20.

There's 2 adults and one veggie 8yo.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 02/03/2021 21:27

Aldi shopper: On average £90 a wk- 2 adults 1 child and 1 baby
Tbh I could cut that back to c. £70 a wk with some effort.

ChocOrange1 · 02/03/2021 21:27

2 adults
4 year old with an small appetite
1 year old

We spent between £50 and £80 PW. For example if we buy dishwasher tablets that's £12 in one go so things like that can skew it quite a lot from one week to the next.

This week its more like £90 because its my daughters birthday so I've bought extra treats, stuff to make a cake, decorations candles etc.

Chickenwing · 02/03/2021 21:27

2 adults - £50-£60 per week

Also more takeaways than I want to admit to at the weekend.

MissPessyMistic · 02/03/2021 21:27

We do a supermarket shop twice a month, about £100 each time but that’s after my discount.
One online shop from a vegan store approx £40 a month.
One online food and litter shop for the kitties - approx £60
Occasional fruit and veg box approx £25

Two adults and two cats.

SnugglySnerd · 02/03/2021 21:28

2 adults, 2 dcs and cat. Main weekly shop including cleaning supplies, toiletries etc is usually about £80. Top up shop half way through the week probably another 20 quid. Dh gets meat from the butcher about every 3 weeks and it varies between about 10-30 pounds ds depending what he buys (2 of us are veggie and we mainly eat veggie meals in the week). Plus milkman, I can't remember how much that is but we get through a lot of milk!
That sounds like a lot but it probably works out at about £25 - 30 per head per week not including the cat.
