Just curious really. For 2 adults and small child, ours is on average £60 per week - some weeks £70, some £50. We batch cook a lot as it’s hard to make fresh meals every night with small person.

Would be interested to hear anyone else’s?

Two adults and two children. £140 a week.

missbridgerton · 02/03/2021 22:06

4 adults and 2 dogs. We spend around £200 a week with Ocado/Waitrose, £40 with Riverford, and dog food is around £30 a week.

Turnedouttoes · 02/03/2021 22:08

Just DP and I here. I used to go to Tesco every Saturday morning and spend £100. Now I order online from Tesco and spend £40-50 a week. I have no idea what I was buying before Blush

Somewhere between £200 and £250 each fortnight (we get two Big Shop offers a month, and do top-ups of fresh in between).

That's for two middle-agers, 21yo man and almost-18yo youth. Not including their chocolate because they're working their way through stocking stash, and not including bog-standard wine and beer because that's made from kit so is paid for differently.

DidYouTouchMyDrumKit · 02/03/2021 22:10

£250 a week ish. Two adults , two teenagers.

GrapeHyacinth · 02/03/2021 22:11

Nearly £100 for 1 adult, 2 teenagers

AMMCIAC · 02/03/2021 22:12

2 adults and 1 child - £60 to £70 A week. We don't eat meat or drink alcohol, or have pets, which probably helps.

DidYouTouchMyDrumKit · 02/03/2021 22:12

Oh and it's easy to spend the £250. I buy lots of berries, expensive smoothies, organic meats, etc. I shop at waitrose or m and s

Before lockdown I spent less. Now I'm so over the whole thing that I figured that we needed more treats.

We are fortunate that we can afford it I know

GrapeHyacinth · 02/03/2021 22:13

Sorry that's not just food. It's toiletries, laundry products, cleaning etc. Don't know what it is just on food

FAQs · 02/03/2021 22:15

About £70 a week (averaged out) for two adults and one cat. Per pp, things like dishwasher tablets will bump it up one week, but last for a long time. That includes alcohol, cleaning products, and some toiletries like shower gel, body lotion, deodorant etc. We do an online Sainsbury’s shop once a fortnight, bits and bobs from M&S, Lidl, or Asda.

justjuggling · 02/03/2021 22:17

£100 per week
1 adult
1 teen
1 pre teen

Justgivemewine · 02/03/2021 22:18

2 Adults, 2 teenagers and a small person, currently about £150/week but that includes toiletries, household stuff (and several personal packets of biscuits and chocolate to maintain the lockdown bellyGrin)

MsSquiz · 02/03/2021 22:22

2 adults & 1 toddler (14 months) on average £80 per week (from Tesco), plus a Gousto box for 2 or 3 meals and 1 takeaway a week.
And that doesn't include cleaning products, laundry products, coffee (we buy pods for the machine separately) or toiletries.
I'm a SAHM mum and DH has worked from home since the week before the first lockdown so we're at home a lot! But if we weren't at home, we'd be eating out more so we're probably saving money!

noblegreenk · 02/03/2021 22:23

We spend about £90pw for 2 adults and 1 toddler plus the dog.
This includes cleaning, laundry, toiletries.
We get most of the shopping from aldi £60. And spend about £30 in sainsburys.

lockdownconfused · 02/03/2021 22:24

£130-£150 a week for 1 adult, 2 teens 2 children. One Takeaway of around £30 a week. I used to shop around years ago but spent most of the day shopping so now I just do one big shop a week in one place and pick up perishables locally as and when needed. Costs a lot more but with working and being a single parent it is the easiest way.

SpeckledyHen · 02/03/2021 22:25

3 adults . £160 pw , includes cleaning stuff, toothpaste, soap etc . No meat . Couple of bottles of wine .

mamaduckbone · 02/03/2021 22:25

About £120 for 2 adults, a teen and 11yo for the main food shop, plus other bits like bread and milk during the week. It's gone up during lockdown but usually I put at least £20 on the dcs school lunch accounts, which we haven't been doing.

Chihuahuacat · 02/03/2021 22:27

Try to keep to £400 a month but looking at my monzo last few months have been over, so probably about £120 a week for 2 adults / 2 cats.

That’s everything - cat food, cat litter, cleaning products.

I don’t think we eat that extravagantly and shop mainly at Aldi / some Sainsbury’s. I don’t know why it’s so expensive!

billysboy · 02/03/2021 22:27

£145 week including alcohol, dog food and all cleaning products and one indian takeaway a week
2 adults and 3 dogs

RosesAndHellebores · 02/03/2021 22:27

Including cleaning stuff, toiletries, beers and the odd bottle of spirit and during covid three meals a day for four adults and a very spoilt cat:

At least £200pw - often £250

Dons flak jacket and runs .........................

blue25 · 02/03/2021 22:28

£70 a week. Family of 3.

Crumpydump · 02/03/2021 22:28

3 adults, one teen. About £140 a week including cleaning stuff, toiletries etc. This is with meal planning, mostly cooking from scratch. Most weeks its two veggie meals, three fishy meals and two meat meals. Don't buy much booze any more - maybe a bottle of wine a week.

£230 monthly delivery from Sainsbury's
£100 per month in fresh meat, fish, milk - delivered or from butchers
£120 per month in takeaways
£100 per month in assorted guff, extra veg (lots of assorted guff going on because teenager not at school and constantly depleting the fridge).

anomletteandaglassofwine · 02/03/2021 22:30

There are 6 of us, adults and teens, we are spending £250/300 a week.

All work/school/uni from home so the kitchen is very busy.
