Just curious really. For 2 adults and small child, ours is on average £60 per week - some weeks £70, some £50. We batch cook a lot as it’s hard to make fresh meals every night with small person.

Would be interested to hear anyone else’s?

@TheByngster

I’m always staggered at these threads, I don’t know how you guys do it. 2 adults (husband a protein whore with a penchant for fresh berries) £230ish weekly
How do you spend that? Do you buy booze/ shop at Waitrose?
SnugglySnerd · 02/03/2021 21:28

£75-£100 a week - 2 adults and 3 year old. That includes all the cat food (2 cats), litter, toiletries etc - absolutely everything.

We tend to do a big food shop every 2 weeks for around £130-150, then get a top up shop each week of fresh stuff for £30-£50.

4Minions2CallMyOwn · 02/03/2021 21:31

2 adults, 4 children and a cat. £100 per week max. I meal plan religiously and we shop at Aldi mostly, sometimes Asda. We also don’t drink alcohol.

Icequeen01 · 02/03/2021 21:31

Ours is between £160-£170 per week. This is for 3 adults and 3. This includes all cleaning products and toiletries etc. I shop at Sainsbury's so not the cheapest.

Gliblet · 02/03/2021 21:32

2 adults, one DC, a dog, and some extra food for the local wildlife. We average £80-£100 a week with a little alcohol and all of the cleaning/household products included.

Sparklehead · 02/03/2021 21:33

Around £150 a week. 2 adults, 3DC (7,9,11). £100 or so for weekly Aldi shop, then £50 for top-ups/occasional takeout.

storminasnowglobe · 02/03/2021 21:34

£150-£180 a week ish for family of 6 (3 adults, 2 teens, 1 pre-teen). This includes dog and cat food, cleaning products, loo roll etc. DP buys his own beer!

Mummaofboys93 · 02/03/2021 21:35

Before Covid £60/£80 a week 2 adults, 2 children & a cat. Since Covid I am ashamed to say anything from £130-£200 a week! However, I am vulnerable, so I haven't been able to go do my shopping in Aldi as I was doing before, it's now a split between Asda or Tesco, I also have been more experimental in the kitchen so that probably also doesn't help! I am hoping once the children are back at school the shop will go down slightly then once I am able to get out & about again I can go back to shopping in Aldi.

Floralnomad · 02/03/2021 21:36

About £110/120 but that doesn’t include cleaning stuff / laundry / loo rolls etc as we get those from Costco . That is for 3 adults , one of whom is gf . No alcohol . We also spend about £40/50 on takeaway . Dog is not included in that either as his food is all bought online .

GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 02/03/2021 21:37

I have 4 dc and shop at Sainsbury’s. Spend about 200/week. It’s a lot. But that includes all meals and wine. We don’t get takeaway as live in a weird pocket of uk with no good options really.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/03/2021 21:38

1 adult, 1 child household. I spend about £80 a week, including alcohol and toiletries/cleaning products but not including takeaways or eating out (when we are allowed to in non Covid times). We eat meat or fish every day but I buy it all at Asda so not the most ethical I'm sure. As there are only 2 of us I batch cook and freeze - a pack of mince made into bolognese or chilli will last us for 3 meals.

Then it's another £11 a week on top for DS's school dinners, he prefers them to a packed lunch.

Xmascardcrap · 02/03/2021 21:38

£40 a week, all in, cleaning stuff, toiletries the lot. Only me here though, and I don't drink. Though I do have a dog who only eats expensive food.

Tibtab · 02/03/2021 21:39

About £160/170 per week but that includes all the extra stuff like cleaning products, shampoo/conditioner, nappies etc. 2 adults and 1 yr old DD. We shop at Sainsbury’s.

NavaniKholinRocks · 02/03/2021 21:39

2 adults, 1 child, 1 toddler and 1 cat, we spend around £200 per week plus one takeaway (that does include all household stuff, toiletries etc as well). It’s well within our budget and given that cooking and eating nice food is one of the few pleasures left I don’t worry about it. Oh, and our wine consumption has increased considerably BlushWineWineWineGrin

Cookerhood · 02/03/2021 21:39

4-5 adults, plus cat. 3 meals a day during Covid, £140/week plus milkman about £8-10/week. Takeaway every other week about £60.

Roselilly36 · 02/03/2021 21:41

£120 - £130, three adults & nearly 18 yo DS.

princesspeppax · 02/03/2021 21:41

That’s so much money 😱 I don’t think I could spend that if I tried.

2 adults
1 teenager
1 toddler
Vegetarian

£70-90 a week.

middleager · 02/03/2021 21:43

Two adults, two teens and a cat, £120 per week, plus a takeaway one night at £35 max.

Prior to lockdown it was under £100 per week, but that's when I went to Aldi and Lidl. Like pp I can't be dealing with socially distance shopping and I struggle to read labels with glasses steaming up constantly.

Karwomannghia · 02/03/2021 21:43

About £120 supermarket for absolutely everything plus £35 Gousto plus £25 takeaway. 2 adults 2 teens 1 preschooler 1 dog!

Passthecake30 · 02/03/2021 21:43

£130-£140 here, 2 adults and 2 preteen dcs who eat adult portions. Includes alcohol, toiletries and lots of treats.

Solasum · 02/03/2021 21:45

Approx £130 a fortnight here, with £20 fruit veg and milk top up after first week, then since Covid a takeaway about every two weeks for £40, one adult and child plus one extra adult for approx 2 meals a week.

V intrigued by those spending £300 a week; what sort of meals are you serving for that?

I'm staggered that you spend that much, what on earth are you buying? I have fresh berries every day, they're not cheap but they don't take the shopping up to £230!
