Just curious really. For 2 adults and small child, ours is on average £60 per week - some weeks £70, some £50. We batch cook a lot as it’s hard to make fresh meals every night with small person.

Would be interested to hear anyone else’s?

2 adults, £40-50 at Waitrose for everything except booze (but we don't drink a lot - maybe 1 bottle every 3 weeks - and I get that from a local independent place). Used to be more but I've been trying to cut down. 3x meals a day, all cooked from scratch, only eat meat 2-3 days which helps a lot.

BillieSpain · 02/03/2021 22:32

80 euros every 10 days, 2 adults 1 teen. That's including everything, booze, cleaning stuff, shampoo etc.

We are lucky that we pick our own oranges/grapefruits/aubergines.

Eat meat once a week only.

RosesAndHellebores · 02/03/2021 22:32

Dinners this week:

Sunday - small, rolled rib of beey
Monday - chicken one pot with olives, kidney beans and chorizo
Tuesday: spag bol
Wednesday: cheese omelette and cips/salad
Thursday: lasagne
Friday: salmon fillets

Add in ham, cheese, yoghurt, bacon, cereal, bread, coffee, milk, olives, houmous, pitta bread, fizzy water, soft drinks, etc

Same as u in everything (family size, price).

33goingon64 · 02/03/2021 22:35

Since Lockdown about £150 per week. Two adults, 2 DC. In normal times, about £100 per week. The DC eat almost as much as we do so it's effectively 4 adults (even though they are primary age). That's with Ocado so I know I could get it cheaper elsewhere. I've noticed the price of some things have increased by around 10-20% in the last couple of months.

Larryslockdownlunch · 02/03/2021 22:36

7 of us, 3 adults, 2 teens, an 8yo and a baby. Usually £120/week but sometimes more. I spent £150 last week. Includes nappies and formula, cleaning & laundry products and toiletries but no alcohol. We used to have a takeaway a week as well so an extra £25 (just me and partner, kids hate curry 😂) but I've given up take aways for lent and I hope to make it permanent.

I'd like to cut weekly shop down to £100 but I'm not sure it's possible

Maybemay123 · 02/03/2021 22:38

1 adult, 1 teen, 2 preteens.
£40-45 per week includes all cleaning products, hygiene products, toilet rolls etc.
Includes one on a free from diet.
I have to be very savy with my money but we all eat healthy and have a variety of foods. Mostly from scratch plus some homemade treats cake/flapjack/biscuits every week or two.

ConeHat · 02/03/2021 22:39

Between £45-65 a week for two adults, two teens and two younger kids.

Mind you we go to Costco every other month and spend almost £200 each time there. We cook from scratch 90% of the time and possibly got stuck on a few tried and tested meals.

We eat a ton of pasta too which is cheap.

minniemoocher · 02/03/2021 22:46

3 adults - approx £120 including hello fresh, box scheme and lunches/coffees/pastries/takeaways etc

minniemoocher · 02/03/2021 22:47

The take aways are pretty crap here hence the hello fresh

Thistles24 · 02/03/2021 22:48

£140 a week including cleaning products and nappies. 2 adults, 2 pre teens and a toddler (and Lidl/ Aldi not an optionSad)

PattyPan · 02/03/2021 22:53

Around £40 for two adults. It used to be about £25 until after lockdown 1 because people stopped socially distancing in my local supermarket and I found the experience far too stressful so I switched to deliveries. Currently getting a supermarket delivery and a veg box on alternate weeks.

Luckyelephant1 · 02/03/2021 22:54

60 to 70 quid a week although occasionally we can go two weeks without doing a big shop and top up here and there as needed. 1 takeaway a week generally. Shop mainly at Aldi, Tesco for anything not available at Aldi. Once every few months we'll do a huge Tesco shop but don't think we've ever spent more than 150 quid in one go.

This is for 2 adults (baby on way so I'm sure these values will change in a few months)

PompomDahlia · 02/03/2021 22:56

2 adults and 1 pet - around £110 per week Blush We don't drink booze and don't think we are hugely extravagant, i.e. I try not to snack too much. I buy big packs of things like washing powder, good basmati rice etc, so usually spend around £10/week on one of those items. DH has got into low alcohol craft beer so usually has a few of those a week. Cook from scratch, maybe a nice ready meal or some pre-prepared stuff once a week and eat meat around 5 times a week and a lot of eggs.

We use Ocado since it's been reliable for getting a slot once a week during the pandemic. But since they swapped to M&S we've definitely been spending more. We're in a very high covid area so I've not been comfortable with shopping in person. Now things are easing up I will switch elsewhere soon to try and get it down a bit

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 02/03/2021 22:57

About £100per week, 4 adults. Plus a takeaway one night a week.

HaNNaHC92 · 02/03/2021 23:00

Between £60-65 p/w for two adults and two children. On the odd occasion its slightly less if I've chosen different meals to the general food we eat

MarySanderson · 02/03/2021 23:04

For the last 12 months about £150/week 2 adults + 2 teen boys. All food, cleaning, toiletries (apart from £100 from Boots) in single tesco shop delivered weekly. Additional £35/month for milk.

30scrisis · 02/03/2021 23:04

One adult, two teens and a 7 year old. Oh and the cat. Sometimes my OH eats here, say twice a week. I spend around £150 including alcohol, toiletries, cleaning stuff and top ups. I thought that was a lot until I read most of this thread! We do spend about £50 max a week on takeaways, odd coffee or sandwich here or there but there's not much joy to be had at the moment 🤷‍♀️

PattyPan · 02/03/2021 23:04

Both these figures were for everything - we don't really drink and use vinegar for cleaning. No pets.
PickAChew · 02/03/2021 23:08

Our 250pw is mostly m&s and waitrose, with some sainsburys and ocado. Occasional tesco or coop, though I've been using our coop much less as it is such a cramped store, even though it's right on our doorstep.

Booze, toiletries and cleaning products included. A lot of fruit and veg. Some convenience food (as we sometimes desperately need that convenience) but fresh meat is mostly organic or free range (so I'm buying the £12 chicken, not the £4 one) . Quite a bit of fish. Quite a bit of catering to restricted diets and food intolerances. Not as much scope for shopping around for certain items as a year ago.

vixeyann · 02/03/2021 23:08

Approx £70 a week, 2 adults and a 7 year old, includes cleaning products, toiletries etc. It used to be £60 pre Covid - food prices have definitely increased. I thought this was a lot until I read this thread!

hamsterchump · 02/03/2021 23:13

2 adults, 2 cats £35-£40 a week 90% from Lidl, 10% from Morrisons including booze and household etc.

stevalnamechanger · 02/03/2021 23:15

@TheByngster

I’m always staggered at these threads, I don’t know how you guys do it. 2 adults (husband a protein whore with a penchant for fresh berries) £230ish weekly
That's a bit ignorant , some people don't have the disposable income to have a penchant for fresh berries 🤷‍♀️

I probably spend £140-200 a week for 2 adults but I'm super aware we could eat for £60 quid a week if we cut back and were organized and didn't order restaurant meals in

mindutopia · 02/03/2021 23:37

Maybe average around £150 ish depending how much alcohol. That’s for 2 adults and 2 dc. But except for youngest one who gets lunch at nursery we all eat 3 meals a day with snacks and coffees from home, even in normal times. We drink several bottles of wine at the weekend and I like nice food and generally cook everything from scratch. It can be as little as £110 but also as much as £200 on the rare expensive week.

noname55 · 02/03/2021 23:39

2 adults and 1 child, usually £60.
