… I'd forgotten how handsome he was. Looks about great in his suit, high heels. nail varnish, make up….

The fact that he shouted at teenage girls in toilets when he was in his twenties only serves to prove he's had the same repellent attitude towards women all this time.
And he hid it in plain sight. We fell for it, thinking he was so forward thinking and not a vile, misogynist cunt.
Bravo Izzard for pulling the wool over our eyes. 👏 No more though.

Surely it’s the fact that he’s male and presenting himself as the victim of three teenage girls — when using the women’s toilets to facilitate a fetish — that’s relevant, rather than whether he’s 23 or 59

Yes.

@AtrociousCircumstance

He’s a creepy, angry and confused man finding frisson in foisting his ‘gender fluidity’ on everyone around him.

I read he delighted in scaring teenage girls in a toilet. He was glad they were afraid, because they were obviously transphobic HmmAngry

White straight man lays claim to female lived experience (through dress up) and revels in women not being able to counter it without being labels bigots.

Yes. Years ago I liked Eddie Izzard, but now he just makes my flesh creep. I get a feeling he doesn't even believe the stuff he says about his own 'gender identity', he's saying much of it to be provocative and in a flailing attempt to remain relevant.

If that makes any difference - he’s not yelling at girls in toilets at the age of 59.

i think he only wrote about it about four/five years ago- and it was quite clear at what 55? he thinks girls in girls toilets were wrong for daring to have boundaries.

@Thousandmiles

I’m not sure what to think anymore but I do think that story about him getting changed in the toilets happened in the 80s, when he was in his early 20s and hadn’t come out yet. If that makes any difference - he’s not yelling at girls in toilets at the age of 59.
No, it really doesn't make any difference, other than to prove he's always been a vile misogynistic creep, as opposed to it being a recent change.

Ok, I’m over him now.

I refuse this gaslighting.

He was my favourite comedian in the late 1990s.

Not any more.
