… I'd forgotten how handsome he was. Looks about great in his suit, high heels. nail varnish, make up….

I think those posters who comment on how Eddie uses gender fluidity to cherry pick the best of both worlds have it spot on - the fact that Eddie is male when acting is a prime example. I imagine all those female actors with their #MeToo experiences would have loved to be able to tell Weinstein and his like that they were not identifying as women on the particular day they were being harassed, groped, raped, terrified and threatened with not working if they didn't do what these powerful men wanted.

Gladly Eddie won't give a fuck what people on mumsnet think. Those saying he has let them down 😂, I'm sure he will be distraught.
I don't think we give a fuck that Eddie won't give a fuck 🤨 How odd that you think we would.
MysteriousMonkey · 02/03/2021 07:06

Eddie has jumped the shark. Twat.

Because being a "woman" is all about smearing your face with makeup and wearing nail varnish and high heels, our life experience counts for nothing. Then using his male privilege whenever it suits him.
Him and his ilk can fuck off.

Erkrie · 02/03/2021 07:10

Eddie is the one who I believe frightened some young teenage girls when he was getting changed in a women's toilet. He then somehow painted himself as the brave victim because of the girls response to him.

eurochick · 02/03/2021 07:46

I admired him when he was pushing the boundaries of what it meant to be male. Now he's just appropriating what it is to be female - what a twat.

Helmetbymidnight · 02/03/2021 07:53

i want to know what he imagines he has in common with my daughter (and not my husband)

The infuriating thing is he (and men like him) thinks he gets to determine what ‘girlness’ means. That his whim to identify himself as a girl is equal to your daughter’s physical and lived reality. And in fact the claim is that his ‘right’ is greater because your DD has ‘cis privilege’.

It’s gaslighting. It’s oppression of women and girls. As we know. But we’re not allowed to say.

JackieWeaverFever · 02/03/2021 08:08

@Malteser71

I think he’s a bloody joke now.

I used to think he was awesome.

This. So much this.
NeverDropYourMoonCup · 02/03/2021 08:11

Oh. I thought this might be a discussion of how off it felt to have a white comedian with a routine including a number of impersonations of ethnic accents on TV.

Or is it OK for us to do mock accents for shits and giggles?

Yes this made me Hmm at the time and made me consider a very different view of him.

MacDuffsMuff · 02/03/2021 08:15

@AtrociousCircumstance fantastic post and I think you are 100% spot on.

OhWhyNot · 02/03/2021 08:18

Oh yes the being chased out of ladies toilets how this made him realise that he had to face his fear

No concern that the girls or women in the toilets felt uncomfortable with a man being in their space Hmm

But it’s ok it’s only Eddie in girl mode

The girl mode makes me feel quite sick

AlfonsoTheTerrible · 02/03/2021 09:07

Nope. Not before. Not now. Not ever.

No it isn't ok and I did comment on this last night. You were watching Live at the Apollo, right?

It isn't just the ethnic accents. He mocked working-class accents from different parts of the UK - Yorkshire, a couple of places in Northern Ireland and Glasgow.

It shone out that he is public school educated. His socialism and Labour values are just virtue signalling.

PetesBigSausagePizza · 02/03/2021 12:16

I think it's a bit tragic when women her age chase youth that way.

The makeup is garish and calling herself a "girl" Hmm . Surely Eddie must be post menopausal at 59.

Please.

PetesBigSausagePizza · 02/03/2021 12:20

I saw him running in a London park yesterday. He was absolutely plastered in make-up and wore fake breasts. He looked like a pantomime dame.

Why would anyone wear fake breasts to run when real breasts are such a pain in the arse while running? Surely Ms Izzard is just must be naturally well endowed.

Why are you deliberately misgendering Eddie? @NorbertMeubles

Maybe he cares desperately what his fellow-women think when he's on 'Girl Mode'? Or no, hang on, that really doesn't work, does it, it's pure male privilege all over again, but now he gets to 'identify' as a protected group because of lipstick and feelings.
RedToothBrush · 02/03/2021 12:45

@FamilyOfAliens

As a male lesbian he was interesting

There’s no such thing as a male lesbian.

A man who is sexually attracted to women is a heterosexual man.

You either believe that males can be lesbians and lesbians that don't want dick are bigotted.

Or you believe that anyone coming out with this guff is a homophobic misogynistic prick with no respect for women and their right to have sexual boundaries and say no without reprisal.

This is proving to be a more difficult argument about rights and liberalism than it really should be.

GenderApostate19 · 02/03/2021 13:48

He’s just another twat in Woman-face.
A huge insult to actual, you know, Female born Women.

Jo Bartosch in The Critic

thecritic.co.uk/male-transgenderism-is-sexism-on-steroids/

With exquisite concision, feminist scholar Professor Sheila Jeffreys dubbed transgenderism a “men’s sexual rights movement.” She posits that it is women’s subordinate social status that some men with masochistic tendencies find arousing. Far from being a progressive step toward breaking down sexist stereotypes, the thrill men gain from identifying as the other sex, whether by being in “girl mode” or having surgery, depends upon men maintaining their dominant status in society. In essence, male transgenderism is invested in the erotization of women’s subordinate social position; it is sexism on steroids.
