I'm just interested to know have people booked holidays this year on the back of the last news ?

OP posts:
Holirem2 · 28/02/2021 18:35

Following.

I’m not sure weather to rebook for June or September yet! I’m waiting on an email from TUI cancelling my May booking.

MondeoFan · 28/02/2021 18:36

Not yet but I'm thinking of booking in this country certainly

Brendabigbaps · 28/02/2021 18:37

Christmas winter sun to a country that is dealing well with covid
A week in centre parcs (rearranged from Easter)
Weekend away with friends.

All booked with companies who have good covid policies, that was a must!

AndOffFlewMyLastFuck · 28/02/2021 18:40

Yes, 5th time of rebooking, I live in hope

Ilikewinter · 28/02/2021 18:41

Have a week in Dorset booked for June,
have 2 weeks booked off in September and would love to go abroad but will wait until nearer the time to see what happens with vaccine passports, Covid testing etc .

MissyB1 · 28/02/2021 18:42

Yes just booked two weeks in Greece for July. Fingers crossed 🤞

NeedWineNow · 28/02/2021 18:43

Yes. Greece end of August carried over from last year with Tui who have good Covid policies. We've just booked the Premier Inn at Gatwick, again with good cancellation policy. We've also got good Covid cover on our travel insurance.

CormoranStrike · 28/02/2021 18:44

I’ve got a Scottish one booked for May (I live in Scotland), and I am considering Europe for 2022

Youngatheart00 · 28/02/2021 18:44

No, not overseas or UK at the moment.

I would absolutely love an overseas sunshine holiday but after having 4 trips cancelled in total (including 2 rearranges) I can’t face being disappointed again

I think a lot of UK operators are actually taking the piss with inflating their prices.

If we do go anywhere I suspect it will be extremely last minute this year

PaleFox · 28/02/2021 18:45

In the UK - yes
Overseas - no

Aposterhasnoname · 28/02/2021 18:45

I’ve booked four, two in the uk and two abroad. One of the abroad ones I don’t think we’ll be able to go on (Tenerife in June) but it’s worth a punt. We’ve got nothing lose, I’ll just shift it next year.

Crazycatlady83 · 28/02/2021 18:47

Yes, Spain for August! If the government give the green light on the 12th April for holidays over the summer I have a feeling prices will rocket so wanted to get a good deal whilst we could. We went away in the UK last year and it rained the entire week Grin

Going with TUI. If you are thinking of booking, make sure you go with a Abta registered company as it will be easier to get your money back (save Air b+b for another year!!)

Theforest · 28/02/2021 18:47

I hope to go away in UK this summer. I will take a miss on overseas definitely. Not sure on when to book though.... I can see the place we have been too before steadily being booked up, so might need to take the plunge. Seems their COVID policy is refund or rebook up to 48 hours before, but if within that time frame, seems the money will be lost. Is this bad, or is this the case for many of them?

LemonViolet · 28/02/2021 18:47

Within the U.K. and self-contained accommodation for just our bubble yes. One renting a cottage near family so can see them even if only outdoors depending on what the rules are by then. One a big meet up with friends but all our own hotel rooms, so will be able to stick to any group mixing guidelines as needed. Won’t plan anything abroad until 2022.

TonTonMacoute · 28/02/2021 18:48

No, quite the opposite.

We had a holiday due in France in May, I booked it it 2019 and have already postponed it twice, and I have just cancelled it Sad.

At the moment our only chance of a break will be going up to collect DS from university some time in June, as it is his final year and he will have a lot to bring back.

Other than that, if we do go away this summer it will be a last minute job.

Tal45 · 28/02/2021 18:49

Booked for August and Oct hols abroad, booked for June and Sept. hols in the UK. Pleeeese let us be able to go!!!!

wildthingsinthenight · 28/02/2021 18:50

Nothing abroad. Norfolk in July

Username7521 · 28/02/2021 18:50

Yes. Two abroad. One for a wedding which might not go ahead which I need to book the ferry for if they think it’s likely and one I booked dirt cheap flights that I don’t mind if I loose the money.
A couple in the Uk.
Campsite booked for 12th of April which looks unlikely to go ahead (though we can be self contained but shitting in a porta potty for a week makes me shudder!)
About three festival tickets have rolled over from last year too.

Heyahun · 28/02/2021 18:51

Yep but prepared to move it again if necessary- all that’s booked is the flights (was meant to go April last year) to Japan! We have it rebooked for September, but will move to 2022 if that can’t happen! Flexible booking so don’t see why not to keep it

Elllicam · 28/02/2021 18:58

We have booked the north of Scotland for July. I had booked Dumfries for April but it’s been cancelled.

heart80s · 28/02/2021 19:00

I have a June holiday booked, rebooked from last June.

roses2 · 28/02/2021 19:08

I've booked a tripnabroad to see a friend May half term (29th May) the day after they announced 17th May was possible . Prices are already almost double what I paid. Easyjet allow one free change so if i dont go May I'll change to a layer date. We'll know by 12th April how likely holidays are May onwards.

PandemicPalava · 28/02/2021 19:14

Nope. We usually camp but I think this year will be the year of everyone camping so we're avoiding it. Going for days out instead and can hopefully camp in my Nan's garden for a few days

Avondklok · 28/02/2021 19:16

Not abroad yet no. It doesn't matter what Boris the clown announces, it's the situations in other countries that matter.

PattyPan · 28/02/2021 19:17

We’ve booked U.K. camping for the beginning of September - we should have been vaccinated by then, and the deposit was less than £20 so if it doesn’t go ahead and we can’t rebook then we haven’t lost much. Not planning anything abroad until we’ve been vaccinated.
