I'm just interested to know have people booked holidays this year on the back of the last news ?

In January we booked 2 UK holidays: May half term in our own county and first week of September a bit further away.

Then in early February we booked Christmas in the States to visit family; We're dual citizens. Not sure I'd be booking that just for a normal holiday if we had no family there, but it'll be 2.5 years since we've seen them then so at some point we just need to do it.

Then booked a week in Spain in August after Boris roadmap announcement on the spur of the moment. We'll be vaccinated and mostly outdoors so again, just feel like we have to try at some point.

We don't normally holiday so much but haven't had one since Easter 2019.

Im going to book. June / July to visit my family in Spain and September (depending on the vaccine ) for travelling to Europe

Alfaix · 28/02/2021 19:30

I really want to book for July to Greece but DH won’t let me

user1487194234 · 28/02/2021 19:34

We have 3 UK holidays booked which should hopefully go ahead
Also booked for October school week for Canary Islands , accept it may be cancelled
Can’t wait to get on holiday again

peak2021 · 28/02/2021 19:36

No overseas holidays booked, UK hotels which can be cancelled at no cost.

@Avondklok please do not insult clowns by comparing them to Boris Johnson.

greengrey · 28/02/2021 19:37

I had an Easter break booked for 9th April which was rescheduled from last year but is now moved to next year.

I have an August break booked rescheduled from October half-term.

When it became clear Easter break was out I booked 3 nights Air BNB (can cancel day before if needed) just to get some sea air before August.

I wouldn't be booking anything that didn't have full cancellation and would only book UK.

CallmeAngelina · 28/02/2021 19:40

Have booked a week in the UK for mid-august. Free cancellation until end of June.
Will see how things are at that point.

ame88 · 28/02/2021 19:42

I booked 3 days in Norfolk in an air bnb end of April - I cannot wait!

Quarantino · 28/02/2021 19:43

Haven't been abroad in 7 years, was hoping last year that 2021 would be the year but... no way.
Have booked a UK break, incredibly expensive for what it is but last year's one (booked before Covid) was so so welcome. Hope to do some shorter trips once vaccinated too, but got kids in school.

Lots of lovely-looking places are completely booked up in school hols!

LadyPoison · 28/02/2021 19:44

Yes - May, August and September but all in the UK

Not planning any foreign trips until next year

Raera · 28/02/2021 19:44

1st campsite April 14th booked UK
2nd campsite booked Sept UK
Today booked Latitude festival for July. Fingers crossed!

HazelBite · 28/02/2021 19:44

I have booked a 7 day break in a luxury caravan in Perthshire for September, paid an extra £20 for cover if we have to cancel.
We were due a November/ December trip to New York this year but DIL's sister who lives there says she doesn't thinks it will be business as usual there by Thanksgiving this year.

Popfan · 28/02/2021 19:45

Yes booked today!! A week in Dorset.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 28/02/2021 19:47

Yes 2 self catering uk trips in April and July and two foreign (European) trips in August and December.

scrivette · 28/02/2021 19:49

We have booked a few nights camping at the beginning of June, the deposit wasn't much if we have to cancel although hopefully it can go ahead.

zzzebra · 28/02/2021 19:50

I've booked 1 in Wales and 2 in England.

Ive not risked booking abroad because of the chances of countries asking for proof of vaccination. Being in the last phase of took out I don't expect to have had both vaccines by the end of the summer.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/02/2021 19:54

Not for this year but I have for next year.

CrystalE · 28/02/2021 20:00

Has anyone found any travel insurance that covers cancellation due to being required to self isolate? This seems to me to be a bit of a problem.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 28/02/2021 20:01

We have booked a week in Yarmouth at the start of the summer holidays. Hopefully things should be relatively normal by then, everything was open there last summer

isseys4xmastinselcats · 28/02/2021 20:18

a holiday cottage in Scotland for end of august

tinytemper66 · 28/02/2021 20:20

Have a re booked holiday from last year (deposit paid only) to Sorrento.
If we can't go abroad then I will go to London like I did last August.

CathyorClaire · 28/02/2021 20:21

Just cancelled Easter holiday (fourth cancelled break so far) and have fingers crossed for May half term. Also have bookings for October half term and Feb next year.

One of them has to come in eventually.

zigaziga · 28/02/2021 20:24

We have two U.K. breaks booked (prior to announcement) which I can’t wait for.

I’ve decided I don’t want to go abroad again for the foreseeable. I don’t want to wear a mask on a plane and on holiday. I don’t want to worry about cancellations and what the local rules are. I hate all of that.

DenisetheMenace · 28/02/2021 20:24

No. Can’t afford to quarantine if a country we visit finds itself on the red list.
May venture up to Scotland if we can in October.

Snowinsummer · 28/02/2021 20:27

I don't think you will find any insurance cover for having to self isolate as Covid is now a known event & insurance typically covers you for the unexpected. Best thing you can hope for is that the holiday company will let you move the date.
