Chimeraforce · 28/02/2021 20:52

Had one booked for April. Just canx by hoseasons 😭😭😭 awaiting refund.
Got one booked for August in Scotland
By the time we can go abroad again, our passports will have expired.

Minniem2020 · 28/02/2021 20:55

I work in travel, people are absolutely booking holidays!

WorraLiberty · 28/02/2021 20:57

If you can afford a holiday at the moment you have no idea how lucky you are.

How do you know we have no idea? Confused

People are perfectly capable of booking a holiday and knowing how lucky they are to be able to afford it.

ktp100 · 28/02/2021 20:57

Nope.

FuckingFabulous · 28/02/2021 20:59

I've still got two carried over from last year! One in the U.K. and one in Turkey. Quietly confident that they might go ahead. August and October. And I've booked in the U.K. for 2022 in august. Also feeling quietly confident about that one

Holirem2 · 28/02/2021 20:59

@Keepyourdistance000 what is your definition of lucky? Because someone may have a holiday booked and maybe at risk or are jobless... all your comments have been negative on this thread.

You don’t know why someone may be going on holiday you have just assumed but some people may be going to visit family....

TiddleTaddleTat · 28/02/2021 21:00

Booked for Wales in April but expecting we will have to cancel. Not booked anything else.

MrsJBaptiste · 28/02/2021 21:01

We have an apartment in Spain and have just booked flights for June. Fingers crossed we get to go, there were only 6 other seats taken when we booked ours...

We also have a house on the UK South coast and will go there as soon as but that's just as and when we get the go ahead to be able to leave our local area.

lolulop · 28/02/2021 21:04

are younger travel workers getting vaccinated early or do you some are not bothered? I personally wouldn't want to fly or work on an aeroplane without the vaccine.

lolulop · 28/02/2021 21:04

do you think some!!

Shodan · 28/02/2021 21:07

I've booked a week in Wales for August this year. Airbnb with a free cancellation on both.

And next year, fingers crossed and all being well, we hope to go to Disney World.

Plus if you can afford a holiday at the moment you have no idea how lucky you are.

I'm only too aware of how 'lucky' I am. Not only did I spend many years far too poor to go on any holiday, next year's jaunt will be paid for, indirectly, by my mum, who died in November. That's part of the reason we're going to Wales- so we can scatter her ashes.

You never know the whys and wherefores of other people's situations. It's usually better to remind yourself of this, and try not to be dickish.

SausageCrush · 28/02/2021 21:08

Fuck yes.
Europe end of September and further afield next year.
Lost my son to covid last year and don't want to waste any more of what remains of my life. First chance I get, I'm living...

tiredmum2468 · 28/02/2021 21:09

Only within the UK

EasterIssland · 28/02/2021 21:09

As said before I’m planning 2 holidays
1 to Spain who I’ve not seen since 2019
1 to an European country which has had less than 6k cases of COVID since March 2020. Where I live we’ve had 40k

Someone going to a pub in this country will be more at risk than being with me. Those going to the pub in April should count themselves lucky as per some comments here Hmm

MsTSwift · 28/02/2021 21:11

Holding out for proper summer holiday can’t face booking somewhere in England over priced and likely shit weather. Rather stay at home

EasterIssland · 28/02/2021 21:12

To see my family sorry I should say.

Some people think holidays are the reason of this situation whilst in the meantime they’ve kept their social life from 2019 without realising how risky that is

Longdistance · 28/02/2021 21:18

We’ve so far booked a week in the Isle of Wight in the May/June half term.
Possibly might book 10days to a Greek island late August. We have friends getting married in the middle of August, so after that.
Can’t wait!

PandoraP · 28/02/2021 21:19

I haven’t booked anything and will just see what happens and do something by last minute. I would love to go abroad, but just can’t see that happening at the moment. Hoping it will change!

Shieldingending · 28/02/2021 21:20

We've booked in this country for the school holidays, I'm not risking abroad because even if we could go who knows what quarantine requirements could be slapped on whilst you're away!! I'm teachers and mine and DC's holidays don't match up well so we are only all off for 4 weeks and don't want to spend half of that in quarantine!! UK will do for us this year 😀

ImInStealthMode · 28/02/2021 21:22

I work for a travel company and we've seen a big surge in bookings since last Monday. Long may it continue!

Minniem2020 · 28/02/2021 21:22

@lolulop a different area from what I do and I obviously can't speak for them all but the crew I know will be just so glad to be flying again that they really won't mind

userxx · 28/02/2021 21:23

Booked for June, but the thought of mask wearing all the time is massively putting me off.

lolulop · 28/02/2021 21:23

cool

Moonstone1234 · 28/02/2021 21:24

Not willing to pay the rip off comedy prices for the UK. My worst nightmare would be camping in the UK with the weather being so iffy.

Gormless · 28/02/2021 21:25

Five days in the UK at start of September. Nervous to do much more plus we think this will be all the excitement we can take till we get used to freedom again!
