Have booked a trip to London and a week in a cottage in Snowdonia but am too scared to book abroad in case I have to cancel ....
Or quarantine....or whatever.....I will wait until June/July then consider booking for September....any later and Covid will back with a fresh wave for autumn 🙄

@Keepyourdistance000 yeah super lucky that I’ve had to carry on working throughout the pandemic, risking my health. How lucky of me.

I’ve booked a foreign holiday the end of August. We had no problem getting our money back last time so I’m hoping it’ll be the same this time.

LittleRen · 28/02/2021 21:30

Yes we have a UK break booked and I have just booked one of the Greek islands (refundable) with refundable Lufthansa flights.

We moved Disney florida from last year but I don’t think that one will be happening!

Echobelly · 28/02/2021 21:31

Booked a UK holiday in summer half term, I think that'll probably be OK.

Summer hols a bit complicated, as DD has, in theory, a residential summer camp that she was finally going to go on last year but obviously didn't happen, and hard to say if it will - but it's two weeks right in the middle of the holidays so makes any extended family break difficult either side. What I think we'll do is book a break within that time that's self-catering in UK or maybe somewhere we can get to by ferry - ie so daughter can come with us or not but we won't really lose out paying for her. Then we can maybe take a short break all together one side or another.

One week in Cornwall mid July. Followed by 5 days in a forest lodge in New Forest at the end of July.

Thewinterofdiscontent · 28/02/2021 22:20

I had a look at flights last week. Had another look this weekend. And yes all gone up. Again.
One of the better bits about last years lack of holiday was not having booking angst. I have a love hate relationship with actually booking stuff. Every bloody year I spend hours and hours looking at flights, looking at hotels, reading reviews even though I’ve ALWAYS been able to get something I want at a decent price every single year ( regardless of scaremongering over holiday shortages which they predict every single year as well).

EggyPegg · 28/02/2021 22:30

Yes, Eurocamp in the summer, Italy with a friend for three nights in October, and Austria for skiing over Christmas.

Accommodation for Austria and Italy is fully refundable until the day before, Eurocamp were excellent last year and offered a credit note or refund if we couldn't travel (fortunately we could as it was booked for when the restrictions were lifted) and we're happy to take credit notes for the flights.

UK prices seem to be reflective of the demand this year as I've been looking at breaks to go on with the DC, SIL and DN and it would be cheaper to get flights and accommodation in Ibiza for the same period than it would be for a 3 bed caravan on the Isle of Wight.

This ^ is me ! I actually get anxiety over holiday booking
SpeckledFrogsLog · 28/02/2021 22:49

Transferred a booking to the Balearics from last year to July this year. Balance isn't due until May but I’m a bit apprehensive as to whether restrictions will still be in place over there. Don’t fancy having to wear a mask in 30 degree heat!

im5050 · 28/02/2021 23:22

Ive booked for May next year and so did my son and his partner he also has a holiday in Nov booked
I booked with Tui for 2 weeks in Ibiza going on my own but joining the rest of my family in that same hotel and I paid £760 for two weeks All inclusive including the flight in my own room
They have some good discounts for single bookings and single parents
My sister moved hers to May next year as well

If we can get away l would like to go somewhere in September with DH as well for two weeks but will book it last minute

NovemberR · 28/02/2021 23:24

No. But we wouldn't have done anyway. We can't afford it.

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 28/02/2021 23:27

Yeah we booked for later this year. If we can’t go then we will rebook (for the 3rd time).

areyoumeop · 28/02/2021 23:36

after all the nonsense of postponing , moving dates and cancelling our first holiday in years last year , we are reluctant to rebook anything abroad, and will probably not have our Vaccine passports by the time we have booked our annual leave. Will probably be looking at 2022 before we can realistically go anywhere.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 28/02/2021 23:37

People booking abroad, are you not worried about quarantining on your return ? How do you know it won’t be still operational? Or compulsory Covid tests before leaving?

TheHobbitMum · 01/03/2021 00:06

We've just booked to go to Costa Rica next Feb, we wouldn't book for this year but may take a last minute trip in autumn maybe if things are OK covid wise

Illputtheminapie · 01/03/2021 00:09

We've booked a (UK) week in a campervan! Perfect because it's self contained with its own loo. Can't wait.

Not worried at all. Booked with Tui who will let us change the holiday if quarantining or even testing is still a thing.
garlictwist · 01/03/2021 06:23

I've booked a week in Dorset for April 12 - as soon as we're allowed! We normally go to Scotland as it's much closer for us to drive to but I am not sure what Nicola will do with restrictions there so I'm hedging my bets going down south. Fingers crossed!

sanityisamyth · 01/03/2021 06:27

I've booked my son's birthday trip to Center Parcs at Christmas with friends. Hoping that two households can stay together by that point!

BokehBabe · 01/03/2021 06:27

No, absolutely not!

I'm worried the surge to go on holiday, eat out and return to normal will create another wave.

I'm going to sit back and wait and decide on the spur.

That’s what l think too.
exLtEveDallas · 01/03/2021 06:36

No. We cancelled our annual Aug holiday last year as soon as we went into lockdown and got lucky with refund (still within the no fee cancellation period). Decided that this year would be too soon as well, so didn’t book.

Tentatively looking at a possible Xmas hol but knowing that the requirement for tests adds around £600 to an already inflated holiday cost, and worrying that we might have to quarantine on return means we are unlikely to bother.

I’m very sad about it; I live for my hols. But don’t think it’s worth the risk this year.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 01/03/2021 06:39

Only UK ones with good cancellation policies.

StepOutOfLine · 01/03/2021 06:42

Yes.
With Tui for a package this summer, and with easyJet and BA for the city breaks.

hellywelly3 · 01/03/2021 06:59

Booked a week before in Cornwall. A cheap and cheerful place but just be nice to get away for a bit x
