I know this has been done before but it's Saturday morning and I'm BORED. Fucking bored. Also feeling sorry for myself because the cat has fallen out with me. Here are a few of my tame ones:

Line of Duty is shit
I don't like dogs
Snapped and farted wasn't funny
Baby showers are fucking hideous
Ross Geller is the best Friend 👌

Boris Johnson is an immoral clown.

People on minimum wage shouldn't need benefit top-ups to live.

People who won't pay CM should be prosecuted.

You don't 'have anxiety'; you've just never been made to face up to anything that makes you feel a bit uncomfortable.

Most women don't realise what a threat self ID trans is to them and their rights.

Amateur BTL landlording should be illegal.

People can through no fault of their own fall on hard times, but many families in hardship just have too many children they could never hope to afford.

No, the contraception didn't fail, you just didn't use it.

Many women set the bar far too low in relationships.

Oh, and being fat can be a lifestyle choice. I'm fat because I'm lazy.

Bangable · 21/02/2021 10:57

The Queen is incredibly overrated and hasn't done anything worthy of the praise heaped upon her by forelock-tugging serfs, she's just an embarrassingly over-privileged, average old lady

The whole Captain Tom thing was very OTT, he did something nice. Plenty of people do far nicer things and don't get any recognition

Most newborn babies are very unappealing and most dogs are way cuter

TeenMinusTests · 21/02/2021 11:07

That does sound somewhat dismissive. There is a difference between a well person feeling anxious about something reasonable, and an unwell person suffering from medically-diagnosed debilitating anxiety. So it depends on the 'you' that you were talking about.

wewillmeetagain · 21/02/2021 11:11

I think anxiety is an overused excuse that people use to get out of doing something they don't want to do tbh! Yes there are a few people who do suffer crippling real anxiety, but the vast majority that claim to, nope!

OhWhyNot · 21/02/2021 11:11

And many people are not diagnosed who suffer with crippling anxiety as they will not go to their GP for various reasons their anxiety often fuels those reasons

OhWhyNot · 21/02/2021 11:13

Would you have thought Caroline Flack was someone that battled with anxiety

I doubt it.

ilikebooksandplants · 21/02/2021 11:13

@Chewingle the oldie was vaccinated because she was more likely to take up a hospital bed - which would have then been unavailable to you or your children, if you had needed it. You might not have needed an ICU bed for covid, but if you crashed your car you presumably want space in ICU for your kids if they need it?

lobster12 · 21/02/2021 11:15

@Chewingle

Seeing that 95 year old woman getting the first vaccine in the country infuriated the hell out of me. Brilliant just brilliant - a 95 year old who doesn’t work, have a mortgage, have children relying on her, indeed doing much at all other than sit in a chair in her care home - is vaccinated. Brilliant.
I agree!!!

Johnson keeping his voters happy.

MrsOrMiss · 21/02/2021 11:18

Absent fathers to have the maintenance taken straight out of their pay/benefits before they have a chance to spend it. No more maintenance of 5p a year if they can afford it malarkey. He's just as responsible as the child's mother.

Taking the knee, more virtue signalling like the 8pm clapping, stop it.

In relation to the cheese part of cheese on toast, less is more.

addicted2spaniels · 21/02/2021 11:24

Friends hasn't aged well, and should be left to rest in peace. And Jennifer Aniston is a truly terrible actress.

Facebook should be banned for over 50s. Especially my mum who keeps sharing lost dog posts from 2013, and free £50 tesco vouchers that are a scam. Then she moans her account has been hacked for the 304993934th time. Same with my aunt. And saying Amen on a post sadly doesn't cure cancer, I bet the NHS wishes it would as they could save a fortune on nurses, doctors and drugs Hmm

wewillmeetagain · 21/02/2021 11:25

@OhWhyNot Caroline flack also battled a cocaine problem which probably caused the anxiety!

B1rthis · 21/02/2021 11:25

I made my best and thought out decisions when I was a teenager, most teenagers are still more wiser than any other age group.

Be kind is a polite way to encourage people to surrender their boundaries and no one moves forward.

StormOfSekhmet · 21/02/2021 11:27

Conspiracy Theorists. Especially the ones who you ask questions about why they think the way they do, and they shut you down by calling you a sheep.
The big eyebrows and lips on make-up ads. I dont want to look like a vacuous blow-up doll.
The music on Sunday Brunch is terrible, except for when they had Billy Ocean as a guest.
I will smoke on zoom, and eat. It's my house, fuck off.
Fawning excessively over pets. I love animals, but some people take it too far.
Dogs on buses, in pubs, and cafes, its too much.
Reality tv. Gogglebox.
People being so emotional all the time. It's very tiring.

Teachers complain an unreasonable amount about a career they actively chose

Meghan planned this all along

People who have children they can’t afford are selfish

OhWhyNot · 21/02/2021 11:30

wewillmeetagain that may have created her to feel worse in the short term but is also used to boost confidence. She also spoke about suffering from anxiety from a young age

The point I was making is when someone says they are feeling anxious/struggling with anxiety (or depression) is to accept that’s how they feels as many people are not diagnosed

Rosiesmydog · 21/02/2021 11:31

Dogs are fab

I quite like Prince Phillip especially when he said ‘just take the fucking photo’

The only good cake is coffee and walnut

Brexit is shit

Trump should have been assassinated in 2016

I like wearing masks in supermarkets...it means I can mumble ‘get a fucking move on’ and no one notices

Healthy exercise is only fun when it doesn’t involve plodding thru ankle deep mud

onegirlandherdog · 21/02/2021 11:33

Bacon smells horrible

Family is a choice, not an obligation (except your own children)

Housing should be available to everyone at a rate they can afford.

Prince Phil went up a lot in my estimations when he said that. Grin

'The NHS - not fit for purpose (my experience this past year has horrified me) in regards to the older generation.

I'd rather be fat than exercise to increase my life span when all I can do when I'm old and thin, is sit in a chair, covered by a blanket watching mindless TV because my mind left years ago.'

Do you not realise how ironic this it? You would rather be fat and put a strain on the NHS, yet you're complaining about the NHS lacking in being able to care for the elderly, which would be made easier if it wasn't stretched looking after fat people and their illnesses? Classic mumsnet.

Being a teacher myself, i have to say that some teachers complain, and I think a fair number of teachers fell into the job because they didn't know what else to do rather than actively choosing it.

"Why not do a PGCE?" is often trotted out to graduates who can't find a job or are unsure of a next step. On my course (4 year degree) there were several people who really did think it was 9-3 and colouring in.

I know this to be the case with three people I know who are teachers.

One has told me they went into it as they didn't know what else they could do. The other two said it was because of the pension.

No hint there of any of them doing it because they wanted to.
