I know this has been done before but it's Saturday morning and I'm BORED. Fucking bored. Also feeling sorry for myself because the cat has fallen out with me. Here are a few of my tame ones:

Line of Duty is shit
I don't like dogs
Snapped and farted wasn't funny
Baby showers are fucking hideous
Ross Geller is the best Friend 👌

@FoxyTheFox

If someone is spouting an opinion then they should expect it to be challenged if others don't agree with it.
Not on an unpopular opinions thread! That's the bloody point. Dear me.
Chicchicchicchiclana · 22/02/2021 06:56

I think HQ should police the AIBU topic and move non-aibu questions to the correct topic along with a little note saying why they are doing it.

I think babies sucking cold food out of pouches is wrong.

I think forward facing prams are more interesting for babies once they are sitting up and taking an interest in the world around them.

I think our health service is nothing to be particularly proud of and many other countries in the world have better systems.

Onlinedilema · 22/02/2021 07:27

southeastdweller how does one 'get a life' during lockdown?

nellyburt · 22/02/2021 08:13

Centre Parcs is for people with no imagination. (Awaits bum sex jokes)

midlifecrash · 22/02/2021 09:44

missing some school really isn't a huge deal for the majority of kids,as long as they don't form an ingrained belief that their lives are RUINED

ChristmasSexyTime · 22/02/2021 09:53

I found the whole 'Clap for the NHS' thing creepy. Not the sentiment, just the whole 'THE PEOPLE AT NUMBER 27 DID NOT CLAP FOR THE NHS LAST NIGHT' attitude that pervaded everything.

And I'm not sure what some goon smashing some pans together on a doorstep out in the country really does to help the NHS.

LST · 22/02/2021 09:58

Dishwashers. Find them totally pointless and extremely lazy

ifitpleasesandsparkles · 22/02/2021 10:18

Dogs are smelly, unpleasant creatures (although I wish no harm on them whatsoever and like them from a distance)

Face masks are performative and pointless

Alcohol is boring and a waste of money

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 22/02/2021 10:41

Health is a holistic concept and should not be split off either in public health terms or individual terms into random silos of weight management, exercise, strength, nutrition etc.

Related: the distinction between mental health and physical health is artificial

Chimeraforce · 22/02/2021 10:47

Stop sacrificing kid's lives and education for the over 80s who've lived the bulk of their lives in a time when it was possible to finish school at 14 and walk into a job the next day which paid enough for them to move out of their parents house.
Ffs given our kids some fucking chance. Have the teachers jabbed urgently if they consent, open the schools.
Most ITV programmes are absolute dross. Plumbing the depths barrel scraping.
Ant and Dec are dicks. Surely there must be better?
BBC only started CIN and CR in a pathetic attempt to atone for the rampant paedophilia that they ignored on their watch in the 70s and 80s. Ghastly.
China is a major threat to our way of life, perhaps more so than Russia.
Doggies and babies are rather boring and needy.
Amazon are probably in cohorts with the UK government to prolong lockdown. They're loving the monopoly.
My child's English teacher is lazy. Registers them then directs them to another 1 hour academy video and logs off. The kids don't get it. Same with science.

Slumberdoon · 22/02/2021 11:22

Ok this one is DEFINITELY unpopular. I’ve realised that you can’t just ditch everyone that annoys you and that we are all, in fact, problematical at certain times. So, I’ve decided to accept people as they are, see the positive instead of any dramatic confrontation. People don’t listen even when I do tell them directly what the problem is. I might limit or restrict contact in some way. I am actually happier this way. After years of arguing with the ex I accept that he’s never going to be who I would want him to be and we are friends. Ditto numerous other people in my life. I am a feminist and this isn’t people pleasing at all.

NotJosieGrosieAnymore · 22/02/2021 11:39

Sandi Toksvig - nothing wrong with her, just not funny in the slightest. Comes across as smug and a little annoying.

Lotus biscoff - totally meh

Baking - messy, takes ages, makes you fatter

Growing vegetables - chances are they will be shite. Just buy them.

People who are obsessed with dogs and make other people feel inferior in a very condescending way for having the audacity not to be as enlightened as they are

Militant BF mothers. It hurts my soul that I was unable to do it so please don’t make assumptions I have made shit feeding choices for my child

Bluesheep8 · 22/02/2021 12:49

Adele is shit
So is Strictly

ThreeTwoOneBlastOff · 22/02/2021 12:53

I don’t like the current trend for hyphenated names (Lily/Lyla/Isla/Ella/Eva/Evie/Amelia-Rose/Grace/May/Mai/Mae).

I especially don’t like the insistence that all of the names must be said. Like the Eva-Grace who was in the park. Or worse Harley-Poppy, such a mouthful and those names don’t even go together.

Bluesheep8 · 22/02/2021 13:01

I hate kitchen islands

Slumberdoon · 22/02/2021 13:26

Another one- post lockdown personal responsibility for deciding whether to prioritise earning money and seeing friends over the chances of getting coronavirus. Heard so many people say this in person but not on here. Obviously if you do go to work and party every night tell your granny before visiting but as a functioning adult use your adult powers to assess the risk and behave accordingly

HamCob · 22/02/2021 22:43

I hate it when people buy period homes (or anything pre 1930) then rip all of the period features out/paint it all grey. Instagram is full of 'renos' like this. Buy a bloody new build if you want upvc double glazing and grey carpets!

HamCob · 22/02/2021 22:47

And I almost forgot...the trend for identikit open plan kitchen/diners. Island with 3 light pendant above -check, something painted navy- check, grey sofa squeezed in somewhere - check...
I like to sneak off to the kitchen and listen to my music whilst cooking in peace!

NotJosieGrosieAnymore · 23/02/2021 08:21

@HamCob they did that to my granny’s beautiful Edwardian house. It’s revolting. I’d have been less hurt if they’d just levelled it and started again!

THisbackwithavengeance · 23/02/2021 08:56

@southeastdweller - I would shag Dominic Raab as well.

I like Boris Johnson as well (although don't want to shag him). I think he's funny and remember him well from his HIGNFY days.

I would marry Professor Witty. He's so earnest, kind and clever. I always watch briefings that he does. DH is like Hmm

ancientgran · 23/02/2021 10:36

@midlifecrash

A million times yes.
MaudesMum · 23/02/2021 11:26

There's nothing actually wrong with being a gender critical feminist
Hurting people's feelings is not a good enough reason in itself to curb free speech
People should be able to decide how they describe themselves, but not to describe other people against their will [I'm not cis, I'm a woman]
Pets are not fur babies. They are animals.
Sometimes, when a person is old and frail, death isn't the worst option
You can actually be critical of some aspects of Covid rules without being a Covid denier and/or Covidiot

FrankButchersDickieBow · 13/03/2021 20:02

Joanie Mitchell is the horrible, warbliest, most annoying songstress ever.

JaquelineBeanstalk · 13/03/2021 20:13

Joni?

My unpopular opinion is that correct grammar and spelling matters.

hippychick11 · 13/03/2021 20:17

*Very long acrylic nails look tacky
*Peaky Blinders is boring
*Lip fillers look awful on nearly everyone
*Grey is rarely flattering as a colour
