I know this has been done before but it's Saturday morning and I'm BORED. Fucking bored. Also feeling sorry for myself because the cat has fallen out with me. Here are a few of my tame ones:

Line of Duty is shit
I don't like dogs
Snapped and farted wasn't funny
Baby showers are fucking hideous

Oldest DS was undiagnosed for years, I knew he wasn't NT but services are limited, school were not cooperative, and CAMHS kept insisting he just had anxiety. He was eventually referred to a neurologist who looked at his file and said there was more than enough evidence within to make a diagnosis, ran the full assessments anyway to be certain, and his new school were more knowledgeable. He was diagnosed and we got a written apology from CAMHS for their mishandling of his case that led to a four year delay in diagnosis. It didn't mean he wasn't autistic in the meantime. I'm fairly certain that to outside observers it looked like weak parenting when in actual fact our parenting had adapted to his needs, something noted by his neurologist who was surprised at how well DS was doing and put it down to the scaffolding we were providing.

If its not your child and you're not there observing their life 24/7 then you've no right to judge.

@Chewingle

* A father should be allowed to make a metaphorical abortion choice - since the choice of whether to go ahead with pregnancy is entirely in the woman’s control, the father should be allowed to step away and have nothing to do with the child if he wanted abortion. He shouldn’t have to pay any maintenance etc.*

Condoms have a 99% effectiveness

If he was so adamant that he did not want to have a child with a woman he was willing to have sex with - he should wear a condominium.

The fact he chose not to - means that he should accept the financial consequences of that decision surely

But the pregnant mother also had a choice regarding contraception - it’s equal responsibility there - and she can chose to opt out of the financial responsibility by just aborting the baby. She has a get out of jail free card on pregnancy which a man doesn’t. Hence wh6 I think men should get an equal chance to opt out.
FoxyTheFox · 21/02/2021 15:17

She owns the womb it'll be grown in, of course she gets the final say. The father knows this when having sex with her and knows that a child might be the result. His right to walk away occurs at the bedroom door. Tough shit. That's biology.

Nannewnannew · 21/02/2021 15:22

Tattoos are horrible and do nothing to improve your appearance.

Babies can be put down safely in a cot while you have a pee.

The Masked Singer is crap.

ThreeTwoOneBlastOff · 21/02/2021 15:24

You don’t need to ask for recommendations on Facebook for every tiny aspect of your fucking life. Shops sell stuff.

Aquagirl19 · 21/02/2021 15:24

Alcohol tastes rank.
Peroxide blonde dyed hair looks cheap and nasty.
Lip fillers make people look ridiculous.
People who only ever take selfies are self obsessed morons.
Designer bags/shoes etc are a waste of money.
Most people don't give a shit about your children.
People who upload gushy/boastful status's on social media are irritating.
Love island is a pile of shit.
The covid vaccine should have been given out as a lottery system to make it fairer.

@LadyMonicaBaddingham

To be fair, chewingle putting a condominium on the end of it would almost certainly be an effective form of sexual distancing... 😂
From now on, I'm going to call them condominiums...
Chewingle · 21/02/2021 16:06

There is still a consequence though. SHE has to undergo the procedure to avoid her financial responsibility.

So. If the man has sex without a condom despite not wanting a child with woman, then he has to accept that decision comes with a risk. And the risk is that the unwanted pregnancy does occur and the consequence of that risk is financial.

Likewise If the woman has unprotected sex with a man despite not wanting a child with that man, the risk is she falls pregnancy. The consequence of that risk is that she either proceeds with the pregnancy OR she has to endure a termination.

It’s the latter is a consequence - It is just not financial.

Dogs are too much hassle, dirty, smelly shitting machines. Nobody likes your dogs like you do so please don't think they do

Ditto to assuming your dog is invited to my house because you and your kids have been invited
LaylaRawlings · 21/02/2021 16:14

Some people who are desperate for their kids to go back to school are in part desperate because they can’t handle their own kids behaviour.

Snapped and farted wasn't funny

The 'carpet fitter' thread - it is profoundly boring when you keep reviving it, not amusing at all. We've seen it, no need to announce to MN you 'spat out your tea out' after reading it all these years later.

MsMiaWallace · 21/02/2021 16:21

It's disgusting to wear outdoor shoes all through the house.
Ditto dogs sleeping in your bed.

Smokers are selfish & they all stink of fags.

Men have that choice before they have sex. They can choose to have a vasectomy, wear a condom, or not have sex all together.
They're not victims with no say in the matter. If they really don't want to risk a pregnancy, then taking precautions themselves is the logical answer.
Women are the ones either left with a medical procedure to terminate, or a pregnancy, birth and child rearing. Of course they're the ones who have the final say if a pregnancy does occur, but there's ways men can dramatically decrease the chance of a pregnancy resulting by using a condom regardless of the contraceptive status of the woman. "She told me she was on the pill" is not a good enough reason to walk away from the concequences of sex, men need to take responsibility themselves and if they don't want a pregnancy resulting that they have no say over termination or not, then they need to improve efforts to stop that pregnancy in the first place.

FoxyTheFox · 21/02/2021 16:22

To add to Chewingle's excellent post, the child doesn't get a choice over whether or not to born and shouldn't be penalised for the decisions of the adults involved so absolutely has the right to be financially supported by them both.

BorderlineHappy · 21/02/2021 16:23

The Beatles are shite.
Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga are boring.
I like Meghan and dont think she deserves the hate.
Madonna doesnt deserve the hate she gets.

Mrs Brown's Boys is about as unfunny as it gets.
This is what I was going to say too. I have no idea why its so popular.

I think that having a shoe-free house is very lower middle-class, and is on a par with loo mats. Grin

I also have dogs on the bed.

Agree about the revoltingness of smoking, though.

Otherwise:

Tidy people give me the creeps.

Cooking is very, very boring.

Even a middle-ranking independent school is better than a state school.

@LaylaRawlings

Mine are older so no issue but that difficult behaviour will surely in many cases be because of lockdown and not at school and at home all day and home schooled. So going back to school will be a remedy

Chewingle · 21/02/2021 16:47

Rather than indicative the person can’t deal with child’s difficult behaviour per se

Houses with dogs always smell of them.

Pretty much all babies can be sleep trained, people just cave. (There's a minority where medical issues would make it unsafe to do so.)

The vast majority of babies born at full term can be taught to sleep 8-12 hours by 3 months and it won't damage them.
