How often have you been leaving the house?

Not a TAAT but inspired by another one!

How often have you been going out of the house over the past few weeks? And what's your situation wrt schooling / kids / work etc?

I work pt and have young kids (youngest is a baby, eldest mid-primary) and we go out every day otherwise I'd LOSE IT. Having thought about this, I realise that with the ice, DH isn't getting out for his usual morning cycles and so has spent all day every day Mon - Fri in the house for the last 2 weeks.

Every day to walk. I am usually in work once a week and work from home 2 days and homeschool the other days but I try to go it everyday so park, walk (with kids or by myself) supermarket once a week and drop my mums shopping off on same day. Visit my bro who is single and lives alone and therefore in our bubble.

PaperMonster · 15/02/2021 21:11

We’ve been out most days, unless it’s been chucking it down. For walks and to the park mostly.

NerrSnerr · 15/02/2021 21:12

I work 3 days a week and the children are in school/ nursery those days so we're all out. On the other 4 days I take the children out for a walk/ bike/ scooter. I also go to the supermarket once a week. We also had an extra treat of a trip to the doctors this morning.

Daily - either a walk, run or cycle most weekdays. Weekends might be a hike or longer cycle (weather dependent - at the moment cycling's off due to the snow / ice locally).

canonlydoblue · 15/02/2021 21:13

Working pt from home, husband works full time. Children at home. We all go for a walk in the morning before my husband leaves for work then I take them for another walk/trip to the park in the afternoon.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 15/02/2021 21:13

I've taken my dogs out 3-4 times since Christmas and to three medical appointments since then also

I go out to work five days a week and my teen to school. I do the weekly shop. I walk to the library to collect books once a fortnight. We volunteer for two hours at the weekend. We often visit our support bubble on the weekend. We go out for a 2 mile walk Friday to Sunday if we haven't walked into town for the library or are going for a walk with our support bubble. I sometimes go to the supermarket between weekly shops in the evening to get yellow sticker food.

DinosApple · 15/02/2021 21:16

I’m out at work Monday to Friday, DC are at school those days. So 5 days a week. Weekends I sometimes go for a walk. Tesco’s deliver.

GreatSoprendo · 15/02/2021 21:17

I don’t go outside at all Monday to Thursday as those are the days when I’m trying to WFH at the same time as supervising primary aged DS with his home learning (no online classes). DP takes DS outside or to the park in his lunch break, and I use the time to catch up on work. It’s dark by the time I finish work.

I go for one walk each day Fri, Sat, Sun.

SweetPetrichor · 15/02/2021 21:18

I am WFH so no commute. In the warmer months I would go out on my bike every day but now it’s cold and icy I’ve been exercising indoors. We go to do food shopping twice a week, we go to Pets at Home for tarantula food once a week and we go to a bakery for gluten free treats once a week. Honestly the only difference for me is the lack of commute.

idontlikealdi · 15/02/2021 21:19

Every day, ddog needs a walk. So do I!

justlonelystars · 15/02/2021 21:20

Once a week normally. I’m pregnant and in a lot of pain with it so only really have it in me for one walk a week.

Moonface123 · 15/02/2021 21:20

I go out to work four days a week, and walk with son or a friend most days. Also go out to grocery shop.
There is no way l could stay couped up in house all day, l have always been an active, outdoors person. I would go insane.

SanFrancisco49er · 15/02/2021 21:20

We go out most days for walks and to M and S for nice lunches, Waitrose a couple of times a week plus we do Click and Collect with Next etc. We are also in a bubble with my parents in Wales so we've been there and they visit us.
Much more relaxed than the first lockdown last year.
My husband is a teacher and since he went back in September we've almost been back to normal in terms of how we act, just careful to wear masks and wash hands and keep a distance while shopping.

Hoppinggreen · 15/02/2021 21:22

Dog walk once or twice a day, that’s it

hiredandsqueak · 15/02/2021 21:22

Dd is in school so I do the school run twice a day and walk the dog once a day. Outside of that I haven't been anywhere else for months. Have a food shop delivered each week and anything else I've bought has been delivered as well.

felulageller · 15/02/2021 21:22

Almost every day. After Xmas I was staying in most days but my MH got bad so now I try to go out whenever I can or even if it's just in the car because of the bad weather. We go supermarket shopping as frequently as we ever did.

I'm wfh with a 10yr old and dh goes out to work. I go out every other morning for an hour long dog walk and then in the evening. I went for 2 dog walks (one at an English heritage property) and to a shop on Sunday. Basically I just go for walks! Dh gets little bits from the shop on the way home, we get a veg box delivered

JackieBritneyWeaver · 15/02/2021 21:23

I haven’t left the house since before Christmas, and that was to take the cat to the vet. I’m not on the shielding list but I’m obese with shit lungs and I’m highly anxious after seeing a friend die in their 30s.

I’m aware it’s doing me no good.

Cherrysoup · 15/02/2021 21:23

Wfh, but needed to walk dogs when my dh had to self isolate, plus I have to go to the stables once a day to sort out my horse. Also had to do shopping, so some days, I was out 4 times! (Dogs were walked separately due to one being injured)

drspouse · 15/02/2021 21:26

Every day for a walk, sometimes quite a long one, or at least to take a DC to school.

Forgive me if I've missed something, but how are you in a bubble with your parents? I thought they were for single people only.
MotherWol · 15/02/2021 21:33

Pretty much only at the weekends. I know I should be going for a walk every day, but with looking after DD (4) and working I just feel overwhelmed at the thought. My depression has been hard to manage and I know it’s not healthy, but I can’t find the energy to motivate myself anymore.

DisgruntledPelican · 15/02/2021 21:33

Every day between walks, work, exercise and food shopping. I’m working from home 3 days, working out of the home 2 days, have a one year old DS.
