How often have you been leaving the house?

Not a TAAT but inspired by another one!

How often have you been going out of the house over the past few weeks? And what's your situation wrt schooling / kids / work etc?

I work pt and have young kids (youngest is a baby, eldest mid-primary) and we go out every day otherwise I'd LOSE IT. Having thought about this, I realise that with the ice, DH isn't getting out for his usual morning cycles and so has spent all day every day Mon - Fri in the house for the last 2 weeks.

I WFH 4 days a week. I usually leave the house at least 3-4 time a day.
I walk the DC to nursery and pick them up, so that’s 2. I usually go for a walk/run most days and sometimes take the kids to the park or go to the shop.
On non working days I leave the house 1-2 times for exercise/ to shop.

Most days. Have had to isolate DC a couple of times due to COVID cases at nursery, so some of those days I didn’t get out, but when not in isolation I get out 95% of days.

We have a large garden though so always get fresh air even if we don’t go properly out.

I leave the house every weekday as I have to go to work. At the weekend I do the grocery shopping and go for walks. I'd go insane if I stayed indoors all the time.

I've no home schooling to worry about because my DC are grown up. DH is working from home and keeps sane by going cycling and walking when weather permits.

Every week day for work, Saturday for the supermarket shop and sundays for a walk.
I can't imagine how isolating it must be for those of you who don't work, or who work from home.
I hope this is over soon, for all your sakes.

WFH and home schooling. I go out every day for a walk or run, otherwise I feel claustrophobic and lethargic. Shopping delivered though and not going out to shops etc more than really necessary.

I am furloughed.
We go for a walk everyday. Usually early before it gets busy with the dog walkers rush, and before dd (11) starts her school work, the fresh air makes the world of difference to her concentration and level of her work.
Sometimes I nip out to Tesco too- sometimes I remember my purse and do it when Im already out.

DW is working, she works in a really cold place, but obviously at the moment it's freezing outside and they have the doors open all day to let the air in. She barely leaves the sofa on her days off let alone the house.

I didn't leave the house yesterday as the weather so so bad, and the day dragged on for weeks. I was so bored I was ready for bed at 7pm.

My anxiety has gotten so bad now I am not leaving the home. I have recently started walking the dog late at night to avoid people but I haven't been out during the day since way before Christmas.

I am on a list with my doctor

I rarely spend the whole day at home. Go to work at least 2 days a week (wfh not always possible). Walks, running, go to my allotment. I avoided the shops as much as possible from Christmas till a couple of weeks ago but am going a couple of times a week again now. Will be taking DS to the dentist this week.

WFH. 2 teens home-schooling.
I go to work once every 2 or 3 weeks.
Tesco click and collect every 10-14 days.
Dog walk 3 or 4 times a week and get the teens to take him other times to get them out of the house.

100% lone parent with primary aged autistic DS. We got for a long hike every single day, we live rurally fortunately so have miles of countryside around us. I got to the local shop a couple of times a week and do a big supermarket shop fortnightly. Sometimes we go for a "night walk" after dinner. I've worked out the best times to go out so that I only go into shops when there are very few other customers. I can't wait for some normality and a trip to Primark. I have also been vaccinated.

I have dogs who need more than one walk a day. DH takes them once a day but I can't always take them together. The youngest one needs training time alone. We did lead work on the road today and stupidly I took the scenic route. We usually manage to avoid people (fairly rural) but the half term trippers were out in force (don't blame them). I can't remember when I last 'took exercise' that didn't include a dog. Probably last summer.

I also run errands for an elderly neighbour, and go to work 3 days a week.

It sounds a lot, but I'm going out so much less than I used to. Once every 3 weeks to the supermarket now, not weekly, no casual trips to the shops for new clothes or to find birthday presents, no visits to friends' houses (that used to be minimum once a week). No pub. No group dog training. It's really getting to me now.

5 days a week to work (NHS).

Saturday to a supermarket for shopping. Sunday for a walk.

I basically just go out to collect groceries /top ups to online food deliveries/get prescriptions that's it.
DP maybe wvery3 or 4 days nips to local shop -our DC (6) is very happy to stay indoors and we manage to get them out for a runabout maybe three times a week at quieter times in communal gardens. That's sadly pretty much it since December

I have a dog, 2 lively DC and work outside the home. I don't do online shopping and don't have storage space for more than about 3 days fresh produce. I'm out more than I'm in. Lockdown 1 when we were all completely off it was still a rare day we didn't go out at all and I noticed it massively in the dc's behaviour and my frustration levels if we ever didn't.

Wfh full time, walks once a day if I can be arsed, supermarkets 3x a week. Boots every few weeks or so.

Work PT: 2 night shifts a week in A&E. Other than that 2 dog walks a day and supermarket every 4-10 days. Also homeschooling FT.
DC will come on about 6 dog walks a week (generally on roller skates or with a football). We never get within 4m of anyone though.
DP leaves for about 2h x3 a week to do work related stuff (driving stuff about mostly)

I work full time at home. Have 2 children remote learning from home too (one secondary, one primary)

I get out every day for either a run or walk. My eldest will join me for my 6am walks, my youngest joins me for the 2 hour treks on the weekend.

I'm the only one at home who gets out every day because I'd honestly crack if I didn't but our girls get out at least 2/3 times a week each.

I work from home. I live rurally and walk the dog once a day, some days I see no one when I'm out. I do my food shopping with my dh on a weekend and that's usually the only time I go out out Smile

Out to work 4-6 days a week (can't work from home), depends on schedule.
1 or 2 days a week I also go to uni for the practical side of my course which is still happening in person. 6 buses and/or trains each day on average.
To the shops 3 days a week on average? I walk.
I am also helping an elderly man from my church with cleaning and shopping once every two weeks or so, and I have dinner with one friend once a week (two people can meet where I live).

I haven’t so much as stepped outside my door since the middle of December.
I'd get my DH to take me shopping with him but worry we'd be refused entry as it's a one person per household thing.
Maybe I'll get him to stand behind me and pretend we don’t know each other? Grin

I don’t have a job but do have a couple of teens. They do go out. The youngest has to be forced out but the oldest will meet up his best friend.

I haven't left the house at all since Christmas Day. We went to my dads house, who we are in a support bubble with anyway because he lives alone. But since we got home I haven't been out at all. In the first lockdown I didn't go anywhere until it was lifted and my son could go back to nursery, then also when beauty salons reopened and I went to my appointments there.
I hardly go anywhere anyway except to my appointments once a fortnight, and I used to go to my sons nursery, then school. So it's no different to me really, because I'm always at home anyway
