However I do take issue with her being 'a poor old lady'. That's a bit of a stretch...

Did I miss something
Both my Grandmas hit 90 this year
If you were to call them a poor old lady they'd kick your butt lol
and so would I

Coronateachingagain · 19/02/2021 23:12

@DenisetheMenace good call.

@Mummy195 good call too. Never late to stop digging.

Hater Derailing Tactic #219: Dredge Up Past Crimes (ie lies).

Meghan's front line guests at her wedding were her mum, and around 10 of her oldest friends who she'd known since college or just after college.

There are a million photos of those friends at the wedding, Meghan's best friend from the age of 18's daughter was literally bridesmaid, and another of her oldest friends did her makeup for the wedding and later gave an interview about it. Yet haters think if they keep shouting that the sky is green the sky is green! they can simply pretend these old friends do not exist, because lying that Meghan has no old friends to make her look like a grasping famewhore who discards everyone is very important to them for some reason, so important they spent hours pushing things that are very clearly lies...

Reportedly it was Harry who invited George Clooney, not Meghan.

@rainwaterflow is that all reportedly too?

When Oprah, the Clooneys and Serena Williams get the choir seats then you wonder what is going on 🙃. Or she struggled to fill the seats simply

Oldbutstillgotit · 19/02/2021 23:22

@ rainwaterflow

I have asked this before but never had an answer - why are critics of H and M called haters ?

Coronateachingagain · 19/02/2021 23:46

@rainwaterflow OK I counted the college friends sitting at the choir. It looks a total of..... 1 (plus husband). Plenty from showbizz as you would expect. Those would be "post college" as you say. Left side of choir also filled with some of the Queen's and Harry's friends though. Oh just imagine going through that seating plan to make it look good!

rosetylersbiggun · 20/02/2021 00:25

Maybe you need glasses. Or to take a remedial maths class.

Copied from a past thread. Meghan Markle friends photographed at her wedding.

Benita Litt (best friends since they were teenagers, MM is godmother to her kids, one of whom was bridesmaid)

Genevieve Hillis (friends since college, she co-hosted MM's baby shower)

Lindsay Roth (friends since college)

Daniel Martin (close friends since Meghan's early days as an actress, has known her for nearly 15 years)

Heather Dorak (friends since she was first a struggling actress in LA)

Markus Anderson (one of her best friends who she's known for more than a decade)

Abigail Spencer (met at an audition 13 years ago, when they were both struggling actresses. They later worked on Suits together but they were friends before that)

Janina Gavankar (Meghan made an Instagram post a few years ago saying she and Janina had been "friends for more than 15 years" which is probably closer to 20 years now)

Serena Williams (friends for nearly ten years)

That makes 9 by my count. Not 1.

rosetylersbiggun · 20/02/2021 00:31

Funny how this is being used as a plan of attack when Meghan had loads of old friends at her wedding, and Kate had none.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wedding_guests_of_Prince_William_and_Catherine_Middleton#Friends_of_Prince_William_and_Catherine_Middleton

Why doesn't Kate have any friends? Why did Kate not have any old friend of her own at her wedding?

@rainwaterflow wow you seem to know so many details...... Only one of these friends seems to be a "college" friend. And yes lots of showbizz as I said. So not sure what is your point? Based on press info, as I don't have inside information. But you may know more.

Coronateachingagain · 20/02/2021 00:56

@rainwaterflow Kate at least had more family and friends attending and did not have to invite the Clooneys to beef up the invite list by sitting them in the choir.

Mockolate · 20/02/2021 00:57

Ooh
Ooo
I'm going to have a guess.
I'm on IG and see it.
You have your followers as in people who like your content following you
Then people who profess to hate your guts but for their life cannot stop following lol.
They hate you, but they obsessively talk about you just as much as those who love you do.
Two sides of the same coin.
The haters though are a bit more dangerous as in wanting to "uncover" things (what?)
"expose"
or jump on your every word and twist it.

YardleyX · 20/02/2021 01:25

Just out of interest.....does anybody know why they have not touched their Instagram account in a year?

Big fuss about using it to launch the made up “Sussex Royal” brand last year, but it hasn’t been touched since 🤷‍♀️

anewdispensation · 20/02/2021 02:52

@ARoseDowntown

People expected her to suck up and swallow the utter bile of the gutter press and mediocre people with not much going on in their own lives because as a brown woman surely she must be grateful and when she said fuck this I don’t have to debase myself for the validation of idiots, they hated her more.

I’m a WOC. MM was the subject of awful racism, no question.

I don’t agree with the above. People expected her to suck up and swallow the bile because she was about to enter a world of the kind of privilege others can only dream of. They see it as the price of entry.

But that’s wrong! Why should anyone be forced to live that way. We only have one life and we see it here everytime- people are told not to put up with a situation that does not serve them. We all have a right to choose differently and live differently. Privilege does not prevent you from being hurt and feeling sad.

Also you certainly have a right to escape a situation where your innocent new born some is depicted as a chimp! The treatment she has been subjected to is grossly unfair

anewdispensation · 20/02/2021 02:58

@stairway

Anewdispensation why are you reeling. Meghan has done very well out of the press and the royal associations from this country. It has catapulted her to celeb status. She’s living a life of luxury and celebrity thanks to the titles given to her by this country.
Eerm I’m reeling because I can’t quite believe the level of hate and nastiness being shown a couple whose latest offence is announcing their pregnancy.

Plus she was a celebrity before she married Harry. Yes she is now world famous but that doesn’t mean she should grovel and suck up her baby being depicted as an animal because she is titled.

As I said previously, it is the nature of humans to use their status to get ahead in the world as evidenced by countless threads on here by women who have also married to get ahead. Why is Meghan different?

It is the hypocrisy and casual racism which makes me reel

So the take away message from this thread seems to be that if you are a confident female who dares to advocate for change, for good causes, who dares pop her head above the radar - shut up woman, you get the abuse you deserve, you should just behave, be quiet and not heard from. If you get too 'uppity' as a woman, you deserve the abuse. Just be conforming and meek like the other nondescript royals. If you show any character, any spirit, any wish to make the world a better place, we'll hound you, abuse you and you deserve it.

Such misogynistic handmaid tale-like crushing attitudes. Women truly are own worst enemies when we bully, hound and suppress a spirited woman into submission.

Cokie3 · 20/02/2021 04:59

@Coronateachingagain

Oh well *@Roussette*, 🙄😍 you very well know what I mean. Punch above your weight, do you like that better 😁 They are basically hopeless. At this point, they are in so much trouble their PR team must be pulling their hairs out. All change! I really like how hard you try, I wonder why!
I think anyone who has to include such childish emoticons, so much, is the one who is trying too hard. So many is overkill and is something a 16 old taunting schoolgirl would engage in. It also comes across as spiteful, vindictive and nasty, and so proves the point regarding bullying. You seem to be so gleeful, if we look at all your happy and smug emoticons, which shows your motives and mindset.
Cokie3 · 20/02/2021 05:22

@stairway

They can be masters of their own destiny as long as it doesn’t involve damaging the royal brand. Which is obviously what the Queen is worried about. The problem is without the royal connection, Meghan is just a former soap actress and Harry is just a loveable prat.
I don't think Meghan or Harry are 'damaging' the royal brand at all, I think that is a media narrative put out. I think they are a breath of fresh air and are trying to reinvigorate the royal brand. Ironically I think it is the Queen herself who has damaged the brand the most, with her ham-fisted way of handling this, the way she handled the week Diana died, the Prince Andrew thing etc. I honestly believe Meghan would be much better at handling the royal brand than the Queen.

oops sorry I was trying to quote a post but it's not letting me, I thinkg maybe because it's quoting a post already ? But Cokie3 I didn't like the fact that you had quoted someone else's post but snuck a rather questionable screenshot in there, completely unrelated. I'll try to c /p it here but not sure if it will work

No it didn't work. I'm not sure how to screenshot like that but hopefully someone who does has already seen your post.

Many people aren't aware of the 'Watch This Thread' function, so take up a post to do nothing other than ' . ' or 'placemarking'. Just showing the poster how you can actually Watch The Thread without posting. I was being helpful.

There are a million photos of those friends at the wedding

Such an exaggeration. Other than her Mum there were no family members.

Oprah, Clooney's, a whole host of 'slebs.

Dont pretend this was a friends and family wedding, that's just silly. Having said that, I wish them all the best.

Quirrelsotherface · 20/02/2021 08:06

That makes 9 by my count. Not 1

See if that was me and I had close friends there, they all would have been at the front. Especially if I had no family there, from either my mother or father's side because apparently they are all, every single one, all awful, terrible people.

But no, let's put the Clooney's and Oprah there, with all of my husband's family. Yeah that makes sense.
