I don’t think I’ll ever hear of a baby Gary.

I know two adult Gary’s and both are in their 50’s now

@Soubriquet

There was a baby Peter when my ds was a baby too

He (Peter) would be about 5 or 6 now

My nephew is called Peter! I love that it's ended up being quite rare!

My sister and her husband had talked about calling him Roger before he was born, but I do think that sounds odd on a eight year old!

Rhumatoidwarrior88 · 12/02/2021 17:26

My name's Paula. I don't think many people are called this anymore under the age of 30

Caroline. The youngest Caroline I know is about 12 now. It might just be where I live but all the Caroline’s seem to be in their 40’s or 60’s.

I used to think Stanley, Mavis, Audrey, Rose, etc wouldn’t be used again but they are. (I’d love a baby boy called Stanley)

Cynthia (I hope it’s banned forever)

The only names that won't come back are the ones with really bad associations, like Hitler or which sound rude now, like Fanny.

The other ones people are suggesting will, or are likely to - they are on the revolving carousel of fashion.

I thought about Maud for our daughter born 1994. What I couldn't predict was that we would - six months later - move north to Nottingham where she would have certainly be called Mardey Maudeh. The locals wouldn't have been able to help themselves

I wonder if anyone will use Karen now after all the mockery about it

I mean, I think Karen is a pretty name...but I wouldn’t name my baby after it. Not whilst angry arsey people are nicknamed Karen

I named my daughter Karen after my favourite character in a video game she's now 10 almost 11

I can't see my late grandmother's name coming back into fashion ever again - Cissie!
