@LadyCounterblast

Catching up.

Sorry to hear about your mum @MercyBooth, hope she feels better soon.

@Curlygirl06 Your tortoise is so pretty. And so little! I did wonder if she was an Indian Star when you posted the pics of her a thread or two back.

I'm on antidepressants at the moment. Sertraline. It's probably situational for me as well but it got to a point last year where I felt like I was struggling to cope so the GP plopped me on them. They've helped up to a point, although I do feel a bit zoned out some of the time. And I can't cry very easily, which sounds like a plus and usually is, but sometimes you just need a good cathartic sob don't you?

Yep she is an Indian Star, non hibernating tortoise. I love her, she's so cute. Sorry you're not feeling too good, sending tortoise hugs!

@DWPmisery1972

I feel like a shit parent/general human as well. I’m snappy, tired, generally over everything. Can’t be arsed. Done.

Sorry to hear about your mum @MercyBooth I hope she recovers quickly, that’s so shit Flowers

I got my psych report back: complex PTSD, GAD, ... and a broken coccyx

Yeah no shit!! My husband tried to kill me and then I fell down the stairs... I could have told you that; I don’t need a fancy degree HmmGrin

I cracked my coccyx 27 years ago, still gives me problems now.
MrsEWeatherwax · 21/02/2021 12:24

Is TrustTheGeneGenie okay, saw them getting attacked on any thread. And I can’t @ her.

justasking111 · 21/02/2021 12:27

There's shark infested waters out there

starfish88 · 21/02/2021 13:44

I'm avoiding most of the covid board. I occasionally peek back in but then escape back to sanity. I had my fairly optimistic predictions ready for tomorrow. I don't feel so positive now.

Worldgonecrazy · 21/02/2021 13:46

Covid board is its usual lovely self. I was going to continue the argument about visiting second homes but couldn’t be arsed.m to argue with stupid / jealous posters.

starfish88 · 21/02/2021 14:05

I keep reminding myself that I think a few posters are either scared to or just don't want to go back to work and to them this is the last 24 hours to stop a return to normality happening before the roadmap is published. Almost like an extinction burst or the night before an election. Whatever happens tomorrow, from Wednesday I think the boards will calm down again. At least I hope so. I also remember that just because they are shouting the loudest doesn't mean they are right.

SirSamuelVimes · 21/02/2021 14:20

@Curlygirl06 he wants a marginated tortoise because it's the biggest he could find Hmm but I think they look like they are wearing a weird skirt.

Hello! I'm back. I'm ok, I commented on a thread about an influencer and some people advance searched me and posted my real name on tattle etc so I asked hq to delete my prev posts so they couldn't find out anything else. They couldn't but they name changed my posts so if they search this name they won't find them.

Some people are actually terrifyingly nasty. Tattle was actually scary. I didn't know people existed who were like that. I know that's so naive.

starfish88 · 21/02/2021 14:46

What's tattle? How did they find out your real name? I'm seriously computer illiterate, clearly! But I do hope you're OK, That sounds horrific! Some people are so vindictive and cruel. I do wonder about people who can do things like that especially those that think they are supporting the greater good. It's been one of the scariest things about this time, how easily things can go really wrong, really quickly!

TrustTheGeneGenie · 21/02/2021 15:09

It's a site from what I can gather where you just go to slag slebs off. It's really harsh.
I commented on a bloody name thread a long time ago saying I'm a "name". Never thought owt of it until last night.

It actually worries me that these are normal women like I might be working with women who think that sort of thing is okay. It's bizarre. They commented (wrongly) on my lockdown stance also even though it was unrelated to the thread they argued with me on.

justasking111 · 21/02/2021 15:20

Ah that site was in the media recently. They shredded Mrs Hinch so badly she withdrew from Instagram for ages. Now she's a bit OCD with her cleaning but harmless, the article made the site out to be horrific. Don't know any more than that

ISaySteadyOn · 21/02/2021 15:26

I'm sorry that happened to you. People can be so unpleasant. Flowers

I'd heard of it but never properly looked at it. It seemed like the posters on here knew eachother, had a strategy almost so I looked on there. it's literally horrific. There are slebs I don't much care for, but like, that's it. I just don't follow them or read stories about them or buy their book or whatever. But these people practically stalk people they actively dislike just so they can make mean comments? Even about people's kids. It's sick.
starfish88 · 21/02/2021 15:41

People seem to forget that there are real people behind the tv/laptop/phone screens. I don't really follow people like Mrs Hinch but I would never want to upset her or any other celebrities. They are real people and I don't want to upset anyone if I can help it. Unless they really deserve it! And it's clearly jelousy in a lot of cases.

Does explain how a lot of people seem to know each other though. And serves as a good reminder to me not to disclose too much.

SirSamuelVimes · 21/02/2021 16:00

Blimey, @TrustTheGeneGenie, that's mad. Hope you're ok.

Curlygirl06 · 21/02/2021 16:11

Yes I see what you mean. If he wants a really big one, get a sulcata, African Spurred tortoise. Those ones get huge!! Ok if you have a big garden and they don't hibernate I believe.

thefallthroughtheair · 21/02/2021 16:39

TrustTheGene
Oh dear christ, that sounds horrific. Why are people so horrible.

There was some vile bullying of one of the early AD posters too. I hope she's OK as she disappeared off very suddenly after that night.

It certainly shows that the words "selfish" and "greater good" get banded about by people with far less than honourable intentions.

Mob mentality is a side of "humanity" that I really cannot fathom.

They do get more nasty when there is positive change in the air though. There were several cycles of it last summer.

TrustTheGeneGenie · 21/02/2021 18:08

Yes I remember her bog I often wonder if she's ok.

Absolutely, on all the threads I've seen get nasty it's nearly always the people claiming to care about everyone and the old people and saving lives.

Yes I think you're right like ramping it up to retain control almost?
I really hope things are getting better.

MercyBooth · 21/02/2021 18:17

@TrustTheGeneGenie Tattle is a shitpit I hadnt even heard of it till last autumn.

Flowers for the good wishes towards my mum from you all.

justasking111 · 21/02/2021 18:19

Surprised we do not get more interference on here, thank god for small mercies. We are allowed to swim around in our little pond left alone for the most part.

Yes I am very grateful for that. My blood pressure shoots up when we get a hostile interloper!

I think they have mostly despaired of us Wink and are content to just slag us off in the Rona Zone. Fine by me.

wanderings · 21/02/2021 19:09

I haven't yet seen those "over there" slagging us off, apart from general mention of covidiots and selfish arseholes, but even that once-ubiquitous term is rare over there now. I'm happy to say that two threads I'm on have been deleted, because the replies were turning absolutely vile.

CruCru · 21/02/2021 19:18

Frankly, as long as no one comes over to here to pester us, I don’t much care what they write elsewhere.

I’d not heard of Tattle Trust - it sounds awful.

Back to distance learning tomorrow. Am crossing my fingers and toes that the announcement means that all children can go back on 8 March.

I can now book a COVID vaccine. However it’s quite far away. Realistically I’m going to have to wait until my children are actually at school before I can go and get it done.
